Yes, he understood her intention and her lies. She wanted GMD not for power but to save her own life and he understood that her upbringing full of lies, there’s one dialogue JBZ said to Buxiu that she has a habit of lying.

When JBZ finally gave GMD to her, he mentioned that he realized how important she is in his life, that’s the moment he knows that he really loves her and wants her to live and after knowing that she’s Ming Xian, it doesn’t matter to him anymore because he realized that she’s sincere with him and put her life at stake for saving him and saving the Jixing Abyss.

Still Bo Yulan, I replay that scene so many times when it’s airing and that potrait looks nothing like Ming Yi. There will be explanation in ep 33

Ep 14 when Ming Yi lied
🗣️: Why didn’t she tell the truth when Ji Bozai is sincere about her?

Telling her biggest secret and identity to a guy she just met 1-2months max? To a warrior from your enemy’s realm? A secret that would jeopardize her entire realm and family? A secret that even she didn’t tell her own Master She whom she’s known for years and her most trusted person? Fairy with spiritual vein is already a taboo, let alone fairy pretending not just a guy, but a crown prince and joining tournament as warrior. What if he chased her away after she told the truth and she jeopardized her plan on getting GMD? Be for real, I wouldn’t tell the truth if I’m Ming Yi too, the stake is too high. It’s safer to lie and to prove him that she’s useful, so that she can still stay by his side and achieve her goal.

Ep 23 when Ming Yi stole GMD
🗣️: Ji Bozai loves her and he would give it to her if she asks him

If she told him she’s poisoned and needed GMD, if he defied his master’s wish and gave her, then what? She has to stay in Jixing Abyss because she feels indebted? Or she told the truth to him, btw I’m Ming Xian and I have to go back to YGM to serve as CP, thanks for the GMD and see you at the tournament? Or even if she told him the truth about her identity earlier with her need to GMD, so Ji Bozai has to choose of betraying his master and his realm to save her, someone from YGM? She loves him enough to not put him in a difficult situation. She wants to end the relationship as it started with a lie and they can’t be together even if she told him the truth.

I’m frustrated with the whole situation just like other viewers, but when I really look into the perspective of the characters and their personalities, I somehow understand the decision. What I love about this drama, it doesn’t really spell it out for you, and you just have to take the subtle hints from dialogues, facial expression and the surrounding behavioral to understand the character.

It makes sense because he saw how Ming Xian looks like in ep 1 and fairy cannot even join as warrior. The veil spell is only known within Bo clan (explained in later ep) and he already checked Ming Yi in ep 2 if she did any transfiguration spell, but she’s in her original form. She always said that she’s weak because of the adverse affects of a spell, so it makes sense to him because she’s just a fairy with spiritual vein and know some spell because she’s bethrohed to God Warrior, so she’s not as strong as him to be okay after doing the heartbond array. When he found her later, he still mad at her and thought that she wanted GMD for Ming Xian, so she loves Ming Xian more than him that she’s willing to steal it.

Identity - ep 25-26
Working together - well, they work together a lot
Mutual love - it’s hard to say as they’re slowly showing their affection and love as the story progress, but I would say they starting to care about each other around ep 10-12, and then showing their mutual love around ep 19-22, but still got few conflicts after that

That’s not her answer though when she slept with him. If she asked him for the gmd, then what? they stay together as couple? Her goal is getting gmd and go back to YGM to become crown prince again. Why would she ask him to defy his master’s wish and then she betrays him again by leaving him? Might as well just steal it, end the relationship and leave him. The relationship started with a lie anyway and she’s guilty of it. That’s why she said this “golden millet dream” has come to an end. It was wonderful to be next to him, but she has a duty to fulfill to her people as crown prince.

Her answer to JBZ is when she stole the gmd. If she got it, great, then she’d be cured and go back to YGM and they become enemies again. If she didn’t get it, then she’d die and she thought it’s just best if JBZ hates her than leaving him alone after she dies.

The scenes that I wished this drama had:
- Mingzai second wedding scene, the proper one for the real marriage. They only had it for the fake wedding and it was done in fox-theme wedding. They don’t have to invite others, maybe just a private one in Wugui sea and with Wugui family: Buxiu, Granny Xun, 27 and maybe Grandpa She & Zhang Tai (because she didn’t attend Mingzai’s fake wedding)
- A match between JBZ & Zhang Tai’s husband, because I read in the comments that he’s strong and same level as JBZ in the novel
- Mingzai in their late 20s with their kids in Wugui sea and 27 & Buxiu playing with them 🥹
- Bonus: JBZ’s imagination of Ming Yi & Ming Xian (the male figure since he knows how he looks like) when he’s jealous. 😆😆

I dropped MM and struggled to finish WDBTD though it’s good in the beginning, but this one I’m obsessed. So it depends on one’s taste and preference. I guess you can give it a shot and judge it yourself

I had faith in him for redemption arc but I guess the writer is set to make him the second villain after MQB’s death. I gave him benefit of doubt when he stole Bo clan’s recipe and told his dad Emperor about it just to protect Ming Yi because the Emperor would chase Ming Yi for the recipe if STL didn’t come back. I also had faith in him that he would sacrifice himself to end whatever nonsense the Emperor wanted to do as STL/CY already had heavenly grief and golden millet dream, but oh well, he stayed bad until the end. I was kinda disappointed on his character as he deserves happy ending.

Just started watching this drama. I’m having a problem with the pace of this drama. I’ve watched until ep 8, and I feel like it’s moving quite slow and I don’t really see Zang Hai as a mastermind or someone who’d trained hard for more than 10 years for revenge. So far, he just jumped into things and relied on his luck. Yes, he has plan on how to get out from the tomb, but it’s not a meticulous plan to ensure that he’ll be safe and still relies on luck because his master has no idea if he managed to get out and made that Yang guy came in instead. It’s also a gamble with the fortune teller thingy like no one knows that Marquis Ping Jin will actually believe with the “luck star” prophecy or not. Many times Zang Hai could’ve been killed, but luck is just on his side. At some point, it feels like he has the “plot armor”, which he survived and the only one survived because he’s the main lead.

I’m not hating this drama and will give it more a chance as I love revenge drama. I just hope that it’ll get better and he has better plans in the upcoming episodes

I still don’t like him though he fulfilled his wife’s last wish to let Fugui go.

The way Fugui is so gentle and calm with Qingtong 🥹🥹🩷 His smile when they made rice ball together, my heart melts.

Damn I hate those elders from Yiqi alliances to the point I want this alliance to rot and burn to ashes. They’re always the problem for killing demons and then playing victim when demons attack humans back.

Only her first dress when she transformed was pretty, then afterward it’s pretty much average. I also don’t like her hairstyle, like I know they want to make her look more like spider, but it’s not flattering

Yup, villain Quan Jingting is kinda disappointing like he only barked, that’s it. His scenes are not interesting at all

iQIYI really needs to fix the subtitles like I appreciate you guys translate the songs, but not when there’s dialogue! it’s so distracting! and it takes up half of the screen, like wth

I understand your frustration, but it’s not a secret that she could just tell someone whom she just met like 2months max. It’s a matter of her realm and her status as crown prince. It’s a high stake secret, so it’s not a matter of maturity or not. In fact, she’s matured as she’s thinking of her people at Yaoguang Mountain if the truth is out and repercussion of it to YGM realm. They also mentioned about fairy with spiritual vein had to hide with soul nail thingy, so it’s a taboo for fairy to have spiritual vein, let alone to be a warrior. You would understand later why she lied based on her personality and her upbringing. I don’t want to spoil too much for you.

She joined as warrior at the age of 13, won 7 years and lost to JBZ on the 8th year, so she’s 20-21 y/o.

I’m having strong withdrawal too. I’m watching Sword and Beloved to fill the emptiness, but I still can’t move on from LITC 😭

I guess it’s to fit her spider stripe color when she’s in her spider form. But yeah, I lowkey dislike it
