How is the bromance can i watch it for bromance only?
I watched both shl and cql. If I categorize those dramas, they are BL disguising "bromance" or "socialist brotherhood" or whatever. The relationship btw 2 MLs in this drama is more like a typical sleuth duo's one, which reminds you of classic crime series. LLF, the hottie in SToTD, has a very close relationship with other characters, such as Lao Fei, the genius Doc, as well as his cute lil disciple. Honestly, if Lao Fei didn't look that old and shabby, I would have shipped LLF and Lao Fei LOL
I have no idea, what happened right now, but decent English subs were replaced to MTL on iqiyi intl. platform. I checked the subs on YT and you can still see the original subs.

well, they didn't. The cat owner showed the cat, after the so called "cat gate" happened. The production team also released the statement. However, even before the thing was settled, any sane person doesn't think it's real.
It was a scene, that the cat was poisoned and eventually died like after 5 sec. Do ppl seriously think, the production could afford killing multiple cats for this brief scene, or ppl think the huanyu production is so skillful that they only need a one take for this scene? Apart from if they afford such a very strong poison, which kill a small animal within a sec. The thing is, the whole cat-gate has started after that scene was out and people assumed they killed a cat bc that scene looked very real. I mean, seriously. Some "experts" started to explain the situation on bilibili.
This whole cat gate drama was so stupid, still seriously damaged the drama's reputation.

same! I was so impressed by YXW's portrayal of LLFin STfTD and kinda missed him, that's why I checked this smol drama. (i dropped condor hero. I will pick it up again in the future.) I watched XHZ's performance in Our Times and I liked her very much. Both main protagonists suit their roles and there were enough chemistry btw them. I was pretty satisfied with them and overall the story. Only complain was overusing its OST.

yeah, I was surprised, when yxw posted, it took 213 days for shooting. It's pretty long. I mean, it's a good thing, tho.
it's nice to watch! Both main protagonists suit their characters and the story is intriguing enough to keep watching. Its pacing is also good. I didn't watch the original version, so i can't compare it with another one.

oh, I meant about being guilty until prove innocent. But, yeah, the second poinst sounds also scary, tho as far as I know, about 80% of criminal offenses arrested by the police are not prosecuted in Japan. Maybe, the situation is kinda similar in China?
