TRAUMATIZED
First of all, I have to say that I had no idea this drama even existed. A friend suggested we watch it together because she liked it when she first saw it 10 years ago. And… how can I put this? I absolutely hated it. By the fourth episode, I had already had enough.
I swear, I wanted to strangle those two so-called "mother-in-laws." If I were in the daughters-in-law's place, I don’t think I could have tolerated it for a second.
The first one (Kimchi Ahjumma) is an absolute nightmare to that poor working woman. She should be slapping her own son for being completely useless! And the second one? She might as well marry her son and shut up ! she’s constantly shaming that poor girl for not having children while she spends all night with her useless son.
And don’t even get me started on the main couple’s love story it was completely useless. Every time I tried to put myself in the FL’s shoes, all I could think was: I WOULD HAVE RUN FROM THAT HOUSEHOLD, NOT TRIED TO MARRY THEIR SON!!!
As a conclusion, I can say that I’m traumatized because, even though this is a work of fiction, it reflects the harsh reality of mother-in-laws, not just in South Korea but in many countries, including mine. This drama is exactly why I can stay single and die alone without regret.
