They ruled the world
I really liked this drama, but, because there’s always a "but", it felt a bit too long, especially in the middle. I could easily divide it into three parts:
Before Feng Lanxi’s political life : This was actually my favorite part. It had lots of funny and cute moments, and the pacing was great.
Feng Lanxi’s life as a prince : This section dragged a bit, but I still enjoyed it (I love political and palace dramas). That said, it definitely could have been much shorter.
The love and war arc : The pacing here was all over the place. Some scenes felt super rushed (Pu’s death, Bai Fengxi’s family tragedy, and her ascending the throne), while others were stretched out way too much.
The ending left me with a bittersweet feeling. It was good, but… why put us through all that? As a fan of tragedies, I would have preferred an honorable death for both of them rather than just Lanxi having 10 years left to live.
