dare i say, the only drama airing rn which has HEART and soul. its original as well, not trope-y, characters are written well, plot doesn't drag, cinematohraphy is gorgeous. i dont even have to mention junho, im kicking my feet every time he's on screen. all the other dramas airing rn are heavily disappointing me (WYMM)
only one ep but not feeling it so far because we've alr seen soooo many dramas set in village, exes/childhood friends with tension reuniting, some larger conflict around death/a shared asset..... how many more...
i feel like this drama seriously lacks depth (not that romcoms have to be DEEP, its just lame because its not done WELL) and does a disservice to both wooshik and somin's acting capabilities. take examples of their acting in romcoms that arguably were atleast slightly better done (more grounded)- love next door and our beloved summer. the script is just toooo cheesy and cringe. they're not able to save the dialogue and plot, and their chemistry is kinda suffering as a result.
i was initially feeling their chemistry, but idk what it is about this episode, everything came off kinda forced. they just started dating, how are they already this close and doing couple-y things (yes even though they are in a fake marriage thing)
unironically the most cinematic, compelling scene was jingyeong and sanghyeon running together...shin seulki is seriously a great actress (although why was this scene written to make jingyeong sooooo dramatic like someone died just bc she realised her love was one sided)
i actually really like how fast things are resolved- misunderstandings never drag on too much, its very refreshing and satisfying, this is a very well paced drama
loving it so far!
