It reminds me of how in so many romance comics, toxic couples are so common and it's just plain annoying.
Its actually pretty concerning how people love to write and watch about dramas that romanticize toxic and unhealthy relationships, and take it as cute and romantic or smth. While healthy relationships and main leads are taken as "boring" or "have no personality" :/
I think the main difference between Haru and Baek Kyung's self-awareness coming to light, is that Haru's was instigated by his interest and affection for Dan Oh, and also because they most likely had a past together, may it be on another comic or not. As for Baek Kyung, the way things have been so far in the drama, it really looks like he became self-aware mostly because of his jealousy of Haru and Dan Oh. Like he saw something that was "his" getting taken away, and he couldn't accept that, so he tried to understand what was going on and everything was so confusing to him that it made him always seem agitated and angry. We all know that Baek Kyung isn't exactly a good influence for Dan Oh's life, but the reverse could also be true. Their relationship developed under unhealthy conditions (their parents business and pressure) and for so long, to reverse that and to actually forgive the pain they caused to each other all these years will be really hard. The way I see it they really need a break from each other. But alas the writer of "Secret" keep enjoying writing and drawing about toxic and unhealthy relationships ugh
Their relationship is like 99% based on BOF, it's basically a remake. It's so similar that it becomes funny sometimes lol I just can't take their scenes seriously anymore

I am starting to see his appeal as a character (mostly because of Lee Jae Wook tho lmao) but I really don't understand how can people ship him with Dan Oh. I really hope the writers come up with a good plot without making Kyung even more annoying than he already has been with Dan Oh, and hopefully won't make too much unnecessary drama surrounding their love triangle.
Lee Jae Wook's acting has gotten better and better and I am so happy this drama highlights it so well! As much as I loved him in Search WWW, I think Extraordinary you has been enhancing his acting even more. I never watched any drama with Rowoon in it, but after this I will definitely keep an eye on his works from now on, he manages his facial expressions so well, especially in the first episodes where he didn't even talk but we could see how he was feeling just by his expressions. Also I don't even need to talk about Kim Hye Yoon. This girl amazes me every single second she is on screen. She will probably become one of the biggest actresses in korean history I just know it. Jung Gun Joo is impressing me too. I never saw any of his works, but he is so funny and cute!! I love every scene he is in too.
I can already see that the drama writers will probably make Dan Oh/Haru/Baek Kyung turn into the actual leads of "Secret" and in turn will end up having them do many things against their will because of the stages >< Just like the Fairy's warning, someone will probably get hurt and then they will see how trying to change the story will bring consequences
