Are you Korean? This would DEF happen in Korea and I bet it was even worse for some families during the IMF Crisis. This destroyed people's lives. What that man did, yelling at a 22 year old, could even be seen as tame. Koreans and their rage/emotions IS dramatic. Speaking as a Korean who grew up with very Korean parents and relatives. That seem dramatic at all. Very real and sad to me.
I guess he feels more admiration and an affection towards her (the person that made him smile in his darkest times)…
I agree with this - I don't know if he has romantic feelings per se, though NJH just has an intense stare haha but I think it is admiration. But I can see Hee Do, as a teen girl, seeing him a bit differently now. First, she probably was like "Who is this 'old' guy" but now, she sees something different.
I like how almost every scene is funny or has something significant happen. The only parts that are bothering me are the PRESENT scenes. I don't care for the older Hee Do, her daughter or the grandma. We could honestly do without, but I'm sure they'll bring it all together.
I really hate the current-day version of everything. I think it was very unnecessary to add that as a part of…
I feel the EXACT same!!! I know they're trying to be clever with Hee Do's story unfolding as her daughter reads the journal, but I do not like the present Hee Do AT ALL. the acting is terrible, her voice is annoying and we don't need it.
Na but NJH is SERVING in this show. KTR is obviously doing a great job but ppl like to shit on NJH acting but…
Especially since he's having to show SUCH a wide range of emotions and personalities. We see bits of him as a teen but now he's this young adult being forced to be a full on adult that lost everything. Taking on so much responsibility. I think he's doing great with the range he has to work with
I'm loving the drama so far. I like how messy and complicated the characters are. I like that they're showing that sometimes, even when you're about to turn 40, life doesn't play out the way it does. I think it's acknowledged at the beginning - they are the rare ones that aren't married or have kids. I think when you're in your teens or 20s, you think everything should come together in your 30s... but it's not true. I'm in my mid 30s and only now are things "coming together" but I respect that its revealing how not everything is so streamlined. I even like that they have this story line with Chan Young and Jin Seok - life is so messy.
Is anyone else a little uncomfortable with the age difference...or is it just me?At least for now as long as they…
I mean, I had a guy friend who was 4 years older than me starting around the age of... 15. We did have a lot of mutual friends, but I don't think it's that unusual.
One more thought as I finish up Episode 2. I love how distinct their personalities are and who these characters are. I'm excited to see them evolve as we keep following them. Also, I wish Netflix would spell his last name as "Baek" or "Paik" Because it is not Back and its driving me nuts!
The ending felt a bit rushed and tropy compared to the first half of the drama (more realistic and intense). I…
I do wish we know what the grandma told Ung about Yeon su's story. We don't know much about what happened to her parents or the details about that dark time of her life but we know grandma told Ung.
That's exactly it, they don't want her to be successful, even the director said it has nothing to do with the…
This has nothing to do with being a hater. I love Jung Hae In and was so excited for the drama but after reading more into it and seeing what it’s about, as a Korean who’s family was impacted by the dictatorship of the 80s, I’m deciding this isn’t a good drama to have on air. Not everyone is hating on it for the sake of hating.

Are you serious? It's not about whether people want the actress to be successful or not. Sorry, the world doesn't revolve around Jisoo. The issue is about how problematic the PLOT is and the inaccuracies. I'm sure Jisoo is acting fine, but that's not the issue at all. People are missing the point
