I wanted to watch this because Ishihara Satomi is so charming, but Yamapi's character is such a terrible romantic hero (plus his acting is so bad)... what a mess. Couldn't even get past episode one.
This show tries way too hard to be scary. Subtlety is the name of the game with a horror/thriller and this does not have it. Plus, the music is so loud and distracting. I definitely think they picked the wrong PD for this.
She's not the best actress ever but she's really charming and picks great roles/dramas for herself. I love Soratobu Kouhoushitsu (one of my favourite jdramas ever) and Zenkai Girl was really sweet. If she's in it, I'll definitely give a drama a try. :')
Don't watch the next episode preview if you don't want to be majorly spoiled for the next week's episodes. I wish I could unsee all of that tbh (it did look great, though) but they gave way too much away after such a great cliffhanger.
The first episode was a bit slow and predictable but the second episode was alot better imo. Hopefully it'll keep getting better and better.
This show isn't half as clever as it thinks it is. The first mystery was interesting but after that it went rapidly downhill, with the writing became more and more ridiculous and far-fetched. I liked the cinematography and the leads but that wasn't enough to keep watching :/
I really enjoyed this show. The plot is a little repetitive but it really makes you care about its characters (plus the cast is very solid). I know Oguri Shun doesn't look like a high school student, but apart from that I thought he was great as Nobunaga (and the real Nobunaga).
I adored Shibasaki Kou as Kichou as well. Their relationship was so sweet - their bickering was so adorable and she loved and supported him so much :'))). Also I didn't expect to care so much about Yuki (in another show they wouldn't have bothered to flesh her out to that extent) and I loved the relationship between her and Kichou. I'm really looking forward to the movie!!
I was still enjoying it up until the point where they brought Tae Hee back into the story. Totally unnecessary,…
I know it was originally planned as 20, I was just saying that the pacing would've been better if it had been planned for 16. I guess they also want to put the show out of its misery because the ratings are so bad.
I was still enjoying it up until the point where they brought Tae Hee back into the story. Totally unnecessary, it just drags the narrative out more. I still have residue affection for the show - it was heartwarming and funny, and the cinematography is great. But now I just want it to end already. It really should have been planned as 16 episodes.
Really interesting article!! I've been watching kdramas for years but only recently became obsessed with jdramas too. It's always interesting to see who's at the top (popularity-wise) in the industry. I'll be interested to see the one for kdrama stars, as the entertainment field to me seems alot wider.
I love that you chose Eita as your personal pick. He's my favourite too!! Such a versatile actor.
This was so lovely. Han Ye Ri and Han Joo Hwan were stellar, and the general vibe + the music were divine. Also adored the mother/daughter relationship, it was so sweet. Watch it on kbsworld's youtube channel, highly recommended!!
The show finally got SARFT approval by changing character names etc so it has no affiliation with real history. I thought it would never get picked up. So happy I finally get to see this drama :')
