"The only (little) weak part of the show => Ahn Woo Yeon. Not a castrophe (he's starting to grow in ep 4, good) but ... they're all professionals, he simply doesn't belong."
I stand corrected: he IS a total catastrophe. After this week (almost hal season) it's clear he'll be as stupid as he is now until the end. Maybe even worse: a stupid character in a stupid triangle in a stupid romance that so out of place you're wondering WHY the F the writers/production are trying to sabotage so diligently a story so well written.
I can't stress it enough: he.is.a.big.pile.of.stinking.sh*t. (u_u)
This drama is excellent, but everytime he's on screen ... it's like it's another drama made for another kind of public. I'm not against the idea of luring a younger audience to a mature drama, I'm not against some slapstick humour once in a while, but him ? His character ? No, he's simply out of place. (u_u)
The worst part is ... this character is toxic: the secretary is/was a solid female role, discreet but solid. Now, she's a retarded groupie ? In a brainless triangle romance nobody asked for ? In a story with so much first degree corruption you don't ever want to spend a day in Korea after seeing it ? Seriously ? Consistency, don't they know the word in Korea ? (O_O)
I'm ranting much (and I don't speak english, in my native language I'm WAAAAY more vocal about him) but it's just a tiny little bit part of the story. In truth, this week, for the two eps ... it's just something about 10 indefensible minutes I fastforward-ed. Not the death of the show by far but everything else is SO well controled (the pacing, the twists, the characters) that when ... when he's on screen he's so cringy I'll almost break my teeth.
So do yourself a favor: when watching the show => don't.mind.him. Focus on everything else, forget everything about him and enjoy this uncommon drama. :)
This week (ep 5 and 6 (so 9 to 12)) ... once again Yoo Dong Geun ... in fact everybody is so top notch it's mesmerizing. (♥_♥)
Kdrama at its best.
The sad part is you can't say a word about the story, there's so much going on if you say this or that it'll be a (more or less) huge spoil. :p The "problem" part about this story is ... if you don't know the bank system in Korea and many of the bank terms you're going to suffer (the plot today was pretty hard to understand for me I must say).
But after a year full of dumb romcom it's refreshing to see a drama asking me to concentrate to fully understand everything. (^_^)
The Banker is a firm favourite of mine. In fact, I ditch all the other shows as soon as it pops up each week.…
Yeah, he's here for the comic part, his role is for the younger audience for sure. I do like when he's useful, there's a serious team building in this drama and they gave up the romance part and he sure can be a valuable asset. (^_^)
Well, that was a disgusting propaganda for the good old days of the showa era.
Everything is your own fault you worthless whinning shit. Woman, you have to do everything because it is what woman do. Woman, you will marry the father of your child even you love somebody else because this is the proper way to live. Young one, you don't know shit about life so shut your trap and work your ass off everyday because joy comes from hard work. Everybody, do as your fate told you so because your country will be brighter and your future shinier with everybody staying in their place.
It was disgusting, plain and simple. A pure propaganda. (u_u)
THIS is what you get when you put together a bunch of real actors/actresses in a real story.
The only (little) weak part of the show => Ahn Woo Yeon. Not a castrophe (he's starting to grow in ep 4, good) but ... they're all professionals, he simply doesn't belong.
Moon lee et Yukari Oshima in one of the best scene of every movies I'v seen: -what will you do if I die ? -Die with you !
Seriously, when did you ever hear such a line in a movie with women ? (♥_♥)
The problem with this one is ... it doesn't really "exist". There's a crappy rip on youtube with poor subs but apart from that there's no DVD/V-CD/2 CD of this one. And that's a shame. :(
And what a good surprise ! It looks extremely interesting with a lot of known actors/actresses (there's even a re-match of Unkind Women ! Chae Shi Ra Vs Seo Yi Sook all over again ! \o/ ).
Only thing I really didn't like: the boar. I know it's fake, but hunting: I do not like. Especially when it's not for eating afterwards. <_< But everything else => hooked. :D
Funny: I just re-watch In the Line of Duty III 3 days ago ! :o
Love the intro, since wonder woman I've been ranting on how hollywood came +30 years too late (don't we dare forget about the golden era of the Shaw Brothers, so much good movie with top notch actress as main lead killing everything in sight ... good times).
Do you understand what you’re asking?Flash backs are needed, specially in the 1st episode and with complex stories…
(I don't speak english, sorry, I'll try to be as clear as possible)
No, you are utterly wrong (good start isn't it ? Don't take it personnaly, I'm a very straightforward kind of guy XD ).
The plot is something you unfold along the way, not a thing you unfold here and there because of reasons.
Flashback is is a tool used only by lazy narrator. When your story is well written you don't have to put a flashback in it. It's a simple fact/rule of narrative: you don't go back in time to explain something in the present, you tell a story AND THEN you reach a point when everything makes sense.
A story is like a river: it moves forward. If it doesn't it's not a river, it's a flood, and that is a catstrophe.
I get that you like or don't care about flashback, but not me: I'm very sensitive about build up and rythm and flow. When a story is not "fluid" (I'm not even sure this word makes sense in english, sorry ...) my brain screams "NO !".
Let's agree to disagree: for me, flashback are NEVER needed, you only use it when you fucked up your narrative. Or when you want to make a cheap plot twist (needless to say ... I hate that even more XD ).
And if you wan to know how to make this first ep good to me (by the way: I don't hate the show, I only hate the flash back), it's simple: -cut off the intro -start immediately in the past -move forward in the story with the drama -time lapse -put back the intro and the ending
You see: here, there's build up, you don't know how it's going to unfold, it's fluid. With the flash back you already know how it's gonna end, so there's no point in telling a story of which you know the end.
See what I mean with "fluidity" ? The story moves forward, it doesn't go back and forth. :)
Really stupid drama so far: boring character, awful character, cliche character, uninspired character ... every character you don't want to see in a drama are here.
The storytelling is ... well, kim nam gil harmed himself two times and missed many days so there can't be any miracles but even with that this is going nowhere. The thing I really hate is every ep follows the same routine => nothing happened for the whole ep and then a huge cliffhanger. The next ep starts and the cliff' is given up. That's boring as f*ck. u_u
And seriously, miss botox is such a terrible actress and her character is so incredibly excruciating I don't understand why and how she's allowed to be here. >_<
I'll keep watching but I doubt I'll see the end, I don't think they can make something good out of this mess. :/
The ring twist was a turning point, now it's a clusterfuck and nothing makes sense anymore. The ending this week (ep 16) was so incredibly stupid ... the whole point of the story is thrown out the window "because of reason", everything before that doesn't makes any sense and was just a pointless waste of time.
It's so bad I think the story has been rewritten after ep 12 ... the show is ruined for me. u_u

Stupid old fart propaganda, could have been good if it weren't for the cringy speech about the villainy of internet and its users. (<_<)

Flash back is like amnesia: it's one of the 10 plagues of egypt... kdrama. (>_<)
Apart from that => NAM GOONG MIN ! \o/
Excellent intro, perfect acting, good character, good ending. :D
Need more Nam Goong Min, no more flash back !
