Ep3: It's a pity they decided to ... I don't know how to say it ...
When a character is mean he's mean because he's mean and he's doing mean things because he's mean "bwahahahaha look at me I am mean, hate me I am so mean bwahahahaha". When they want to be lighhearted it's beyond childish and it's dragging on and on and on. When they want a sad scene it's a neverending river of tears.
Too much. It's ... too much. Need some balance in the narrative. :/
Apart from that: third ep, third bastard down ! \o/ And I must say: THANK YOU ! The mother in law is not a dirty bitch, thank you for writing a normal woman character. It's way too rare in kdrama.
Definitely some good moments but when it's bad ... ho boy it's baaaaad. :/
Ep 7: ok, it's hopeless. The phone scene in the firsts eps was beyond indefensible, it was a spit in the spectator's…
Honestly, who didn't scream "NOOOOO ! You're not goind to kill him with the food ? You're not going to do the same scene all over again ? Seriously, you can't ! That doesn't make any sense ! It's damn too lazy !" ?
When the cop came to see the president I was "yeah, so LJH is going to be here" and then he was there and I was "yeah ... what a surprise". So uninspired ...
The phone scene in the firsts eps was beyond indefensible, it was a spit in the spectator's face. Ok, everybody know that.
But they did it AGAIN in this ep ? Seriously ? :/
It could have been good with a good writer, but everytime it's the same thing: lazy uninspired and incoherent twist.
And the second big problem: lee joon hyuk. Casting him was stupid, there's absolutly NO suspens because he's him (and because he was the the only one, maybe with a better writer it could have been suspensful). So that makes his scenes ... worthless and boring. :/
So nope, it's a waste sadly. You can't do anything good with such a terrible writer. :/
Second ep confirmed the first: it's solid, the main lead is cool as ... something really cool, there's WAY TOO MUCH emphasis on overmelodramatic (the mother's scenes ... sorry, fast forward, it's tearjerking and I hate lazy writing); Also: males really don't know how to cry. Like REALLY don't.
Yep, it's not going to be perfect but the female lead know how to act, she can cry (and this is justified, nothing like a whinning cliche, she's pissed off), her character can even blow some steam (second time in two eps with a scene you don't EVER see in kdrama => THANK YOU ! ) and be a kunoichi. And the way she thinks is shown just like in a sherlock movie, I really like that. (^_^)
Excellent first ep. Solid characters (FFS A FEMALE LEAD ! She's neither a cunt nor a braindead adult-child WOOHOO ! A real woman character for once ! WOOHOO ! \o/ ), hardcore intro (that's what you call a hook (^_^) ), motives behind actions.
Well the last scene was too much, way too melodramatic (yeah, we know it's sad and we know who the bad guys are but ... is this scene even credible ? Refusing the mother to ... ? Really ? ) but other than that that's what you called a real good kdrama first ep. :D
And it's really really really a pleasure to see so much women in the front. Last time I saw so many women with real roles was Unkind Women (a good one, I recommend).
They give a damn about the bombing ! At Last ! Nothing but bombing related moments, so that's good. Well, except the ending, dumb and cliche (and way too much propaganda about military ...). But a solid ep nonetheless AT LAST !
The real problem is lee joon hyuk character ... they shouldn't have cast a known actor to play the vilain, there's no suspens since day one. We just wait until he's caught ... pretty boring. Let's hope his motives are well thought at least. :/
On the other hand kang han na is AT LAST useful. Thank you writer to stop being sexist, woman can do something when shit hit the fan, it was time you realised it. (<_<) But ... but ... how can I put it ... she's an inspector (or something like that), she has authority ... why and how the fuck bae jong hok character can try to bargain some info ? Isn't that incredibly ILLEGAL ? That moment was really dumb/incoherent ... bae jong hok is too poorly written, she's mean/bad because she's mean/bad and she must do mean/bad things because she's mean/bad. Yeah, sexist as fuck, the only character like that and it's a woman ... what a surprise. (u_u)
But anyway, it pleases me to see AT LAST a good ep that makes sense and talks about the central point of the story: the bombing. Let's hope that there'll be many more to come. (^_^)
A complete waste of potential, nobody gives a sh*t about the terrorist attack, it's all about retard romance, cliche conspiracy, old trope cliffhanger, deja vu twist ...
It's sad, it could have been good with a good writer, but now there's not even something to look for ...
The part with the son and the old photo ... who gives a f*ck about that ? What's the point of that ? Seriously ? Somebody is paid to write something so stupid and useless ? One third of the show and the terrorist attack, the death of the president is something ... it's not the main point of the show but the stupid kid and his photo is ?
A TOTAL waste of time, the culprit have been chosen at the last time by the writer, the last ep is beyond dumb, the twist is stupid (and you can use it with every other character), the cliff' is worthless (a second season ? For that ? go fuck yourself, you and your insulting writing) and, above all, this is one heck of a spit in the spectator's face.
It was fun until it was time to end it, the writer didn't know how to stop so ... he didn't. Do yourself a favor: ignore this. Period. (u_u)
I wanna puke on the writer: every woman character is a brain dead greedy retard absurd vilain. The only reason they're here: to make make you angry because they're mean. And why are they mean ? Because of reasons.
It's getting worse, losing itself in worthless substories nobody gives a sh*t while the terrorist is sitting free in a hospital (ho yeah, what a surprising twist ... are they paid to write lazy stuff like that ?). It's starting to be insulting. It's starting to pisses me off. (<_<)
16 eps, 3 eps already and the investigation isn't really started. And the political part ... not so much.
Plus the ending ... yeah, by all means ... what a wonderful coincidence ... yeah ... seriously. (u_u) And the drama of the day ... yeah, so sad to see a character with something like 3 minutes of appearance dying. It really is something you can relate to isn't it ? (<_<)
Bad writing all the way, potential and cool moments, but the writer is simply not qualified to write a serious drama.
It's not that I don't like it's just that it's poorly/lazily written. That's a shame, there's good actors, they can deliver ... my point can be illustrated with Heo Joon Ho: his scene today was a turning point of the show => who gave two sh*t about it ? There was more emphasis on a worthless character who died than him ... that's bad writing ruining the show.
Last ep was all about North against south, it was cliche and naive but touching. Today ... who gives a damn about radicals ? Who cares about the difficulty of being a first lady ? A huge terrorist attack has blown up the country and you're talking about a teenage boy making a scene (for what ? About what ? What was the f*cking point of this scene ? (o_O) ) ? Are they serious ?
I kinda like the show, but with a good writer it could be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. :/
Boring as fuck, cliche, bland ... and incredibly terrible acting. How can a policeman trying to save a kid is less likable than a wacko taking a kid hostage ? Seo Kang Joon is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad at acting it's amazing.
Te be precise: he's good at playing a cliche bastard rebel for teen girl. This is not something you can like, you just want to smack his face and his smirk. (<_<)
Plus the "twist" of the first half ... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lazy I'm wondering when it was NOT used in a drama before. We're just missing a first love appearance and amnesia and we're set to deja vu land. (u_u)
So him, he's despicable, period. Then there's Kim Hyun Joo ... ok, next. And there's Han Seok Kyu ... meh, another cliche. Not bad but ... deja vu. :/
That's supposed to be the trio I'm going to cheer for ? I don't think so, there's a cast problem or a writing problem ... Han Sang Woon made Spy, and while it was not bad it was clearly not good nor memorable, not a good sign.
And I can't say I'm happy to see Seo Kang Joon as a MC while Lee Jae Yoon is not. (<_<)
Ps: seriously ... Park Joo Hee ... I can't stand these sexists characters anymore. (>_<)
BTW: can someone tell me which character Lee Joon Hyuk is playing please ? They don't use names that often and I totally dont recognise him anywhere. :/
Well ... I was right: there's definitely potential and there's undoubtedly SOME F*CKING FLAWS IN THE NARRATIVE FFS ! RHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ! (>_<)
Honestly, the phone scene at the end ... tell me you didn't scream on the screen "THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE YOU STUPID SOB ". The WHOLE scene is dumb, poorly written and awfully lazy. The female detective is a catastrophe and her scenes are ... there's no work in them, the writer don't put effort into it, so what can she do ?
Another problem: the submarine and the cancer guy. What's the point of the cancer guy ? What's the point of diluting the scene this much ? That was TOO overdramatic and killed the momentum.
And then the last problem: the kid. Sorry, the show is NOT dramatic now and it won't be, the tone is set. That, I really don't like. :/
But there's potential, the pacing for the "submarine quest" was good and logical, the wife isn't a hateful bitch anymore (THANK GOD \o/ ), there's political agenda (even if it's kinda ... let's just say I don't like to see an evil crooked woman for antagonist in a show whithout a good female character, I like balance in a cast but that's me), there's conspiracy, there won't be any romance (THANK GOD AGAIN \o/ ) ...
It's not going to be a hit that's for sure (too many flaws in the narrative) but there's potential for a good/acceptable show better than most of the kdrama since 2018. :)
ps: seriously, the phone scene ... I was so pissed seeing something so stupid I slammed the table. XD
But there's also SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many flaws in the narrative right off the bat I'm a little concerned. :/
Women character are dumb (as usal), another stupid flashback intro, dumb second character (the young ones, as usual), way too much first degree without a solid narrative, the MC is not likable, the kids didn't die (why should anybody care if a bunch of old crooked fart died ? Give me a family death, a friend death, a husband death ... ), the intro of the cop woman was so awfully f*cking dumb (seriously: in a tent full of cops you're on high alert and ready to break an arm ? STUPID ! It's a psycho move, not a pro move (<_<) ) ... well, there's many flaws.
Serioulsy ... romance ? Seriously ?
And the pacing ... 1 hour of show, almost 40 useless minutes. And the twist "yeah, I knew it" => utterly incoherent. :/
When you look at it, there was almost nothing in ep 4 AND they're going back. And they add someting nobody asks for.
Yeah, this is not going to end well ...
When a character is mean he's mean because he's mean and he's doing mean things because he's mean "bwahahahaha look at me I am mean, hate me I am so mean bwahahahaha".
When they want to be lighhearted it's beyond childish and it's dragging on and on and on.

It's catastrophic. So generic and so poorly acted (like ... nobody gives a damn about even trying) ... nope, not worth it. :/
