The female lead just found out her father die, her husband may be cheating on her, her husband may be in extreme…
Go take a look at Running Mates: THIS is how you make a REAL female character with a heavy drama. This thing here is a cliche. An awfully sexist cliche: the poor weak woman deeply in love with nobody respecting her ... please ! (>_<)

It's TOO much. It's a trope. It's lazy writing. You do not balance a heavy story like this with fart joke (sorry, the bed scene was supposed to be funny but insulting was the only adjective I could think of to describe it, same for the eating scene BTW). Truth be told, when it's well written you do not need to balance a heavy drama. Especially with fart joke.

It wouldn't be a problem if the male lead wasn't so cool (lee min ki, everybody looks weak in comparison TBH) or if this wasn't AGAIN the usual story for the female lead.

Take a good look: there's three women. One is weak, one is dumb, one is manipulative.

On the other hand, the male characters are either cool or hardworking.

Don't tell me this isn't sexist.

Tell me: did you ever see a kdrama where it's the opposite (female is incredibly cool, male is always crying) ? No, of course not, because nobody want to see a man always crying because it's stupid/infuriating/you can't relate to a character like this ... why is it acceptable when it's a female character ? (^_^)

To each is own: you don't like me using retard, I f*cking hate sexist writing. Everybody has his cause. :)

to imagine it was your comment about EPs 5-6 that made not want to watch running mates now and wait for it to…
As I've already said on Running Mates: ep 5&6 are a big pile of disgusting propaganda.

Ep 1&2, 3&4 and 7&8 (best story so far) are simply amongst the best writing you could find in kdrama.

Every "case" (two eps) are independant, you can watch them separatly, it doesn't matter. There's no need to wait for the end. Worst case scenario: every case from now on is messed up, that doesn't change the fact that this three cases are weel worth the watch. :)

Plus ... I'm not sure bingewatching is a good idea for a show like this one. Same for Pegasus Market. They're heavy, you need some time to "digest" them, if you watch every ep one after the other you'll end up ... not enjoying it as much as if you were watching them one at a time.

Could be wring though, YMMV as they say. (^_^)

So, we can assume you will not be watching and we won't have to endure any more spurious comments?
You, GFY.

I report you: you're harassing me, you're agressive, you're useless, you have nothing to say.
On The Lies Within Oct 13, 2019
Seriously ... ep 2 was such a big pile of sh*t I understood why it's a week end drama: you put this against the good ones (namely: pegasus market, running mates, miss lee) nobody would watch it. (u_u)

The show must choose: it's a serious drama OR it's a retard comedy.

Let's do a minor spoil to illustrate the utmost stupidity of the writers:
-theres's a room
-there's TWO (2) beds in it

What's the first thing the cops are saying ?

OMG ! SOMEBODY'S HAVING AN AFFAIR !

FFS ! If there's TWO f*cking bed in ONE room that means TWO people are NOT sleeping together ! (>_<)

You could say "hey ! It's a lighthearted comedy". And could respond "yeah, you're right, the female cop is clearly a retard made to make you laugh".

But then => there's death everywhere ! Crying everywhere ! Conspiracy everywhere ! It's first degree everywhere !

You.must.chose. You can't be both at the same time.

Also it's the second ep and it's already full of dilution ... they already don't have enough materia to make an ep ?

And the twist of the day ... holy sh*t, that was so incredibly stupid ! "Do this if you want us to do that" ? What is this ? A fanfiction ? (>_<)

For christ sake, there's so many flaws I don't understand how people can like something so insulting/f*cked up !

And I stand my ground: the female lead is a catastrophe: crying, crying, crying, being dumb, being a puppet, crying, screaming ... yeah, as usual an utterly sexist female character in a kdrama where the male lead is incredibly cool. What else is new ? (<_<)

Stop watching this sh*t and go watch Running Mates, THAT is a well written serious kdrama with a solid female lead.

First ep is pretty solid but ... absolutly nothing caught my attention. (°.°)

Can already tell that the FL deserves some slap (she's weak, incompetent, dumb, clueless, invisible ... woohoo, what a relatable character (°.°) ) but other than that ... maybe the music ? Reminded me of Outrage.

Nope, nothing remarkable. Strange. Strange like the schedule: why something so serious for the week end ? (°.°)

First ep is subbed, I wanna puke. (>_
I mean, seriously, you see a picture of your wife sleeping with another man, your first reaction is wanting to go back to "before" ? No, of course not.
But when it's a picture of your wife sleeping with your son ... what retard would want to stay ?

I know, it's fabricated, it's a lesson for the brat and the bitch ... but seriously, the manly thing to do is get the f*ck outta here ! Not staying whith these things ! They're pure trash !

I hate when jdrama talk about family, it's always the same sh*t: indulgence for worthless people, betrayed people must shut the f*ck up and put the pieces back together. (>_<)

The typical old japanese fart propaganda: family stays together even when everybody is a human trash treating you like dirt.

Ep 7&8: the return of the well written heavy drama ! \o/

No surprise, it's back to its roots: 2 eps, one case. The story takes time to unfold, there's no side taken, there's no right or wrong but only the need to get better/the best of a f*cked situation.

THAT'S HOW YOU TELL A STORY ! ♥

This week was particularly heavy: the army and everything around it, sins of the father, and the north/south DMZ (I'm always a sucker for this theme). I shed some manly tears TBH.

Undoubtedly amongst the best kdrama I watched. (♥_♥)

Title Miss Lee Spoiler
WTF ?!?Why does he have to be a mean bastard like this ?Why does she have to be a retard like this ? Who the f*ck…
Yeah, the problem is this =>

"Yoo Jin Wook is a sharp-tongued realist, who has been through his share of hardship. Although his past experiences have left him jaded, cynical, and unfriendly, Yoo Jin Wook finds his passion reignited after Lee Seon Shim becomes CEO, and he winds up becoming her brutally honest—but helpful—mentor."

That's the plot of the show, it's ep 6 (out of 16) and it still hasn't started ... kinda problematic. :/

I like the show, it's a lighhearted comedy (about a real problem) and that's the good way to tell the story. This…
WTF ?!?

Why does he have to be a mean bastard like this ?
Why does she have to be a retard like this ?
Who the f*ck am I supposed to relate ? Even liking is impossible !

She comes to see the wife ? Holy shit ! That's so f*cking selfish I wanna slap her !
He spit on her face like she is the dirtiest of the dirt ? Why don't you even talk about what's happening to you instead of being a stupid bastard everytime you open your mouth ?

Srsly, the whole was good, touching, funny ... but this scene ... christ ! Give a shovel so I can slap some sense into them ! (>_<)

That's a pattern used and overused this week:
-X is mean
-bhouuuu ! I don't like you anymore !
-X has a heavy secret
-we didn't know, we're all friends again now ! :D

I almost sure next week there'll be a scene showing miss lee coming to the hospital to give some food to mister bastard's wife ... one time that's lazy writing, again and again it's BAD writing.

I still like the show, but this pattern ... nope, I can't stand it. :/

I like the show, it's a lighhearted comedy (about a real problem) and that's the good way to tell the story. This way, you can't complain about the narrative being inconsistent: it's a comedy ! \o/

It reminds me of old french cinema, the Fernandel style. for those who don't know it's kinda "bittersweet" (don't know a better word): you're laughing, and then you're touched by a message. And yes, it's good way to tell a story: not too heavy, not too serious.

BUT FOR THE LOVE OF F*CK THE LAST SCENE OF EP 6 !!! (>_<)

A disgusting propaganda about conspiracy around rape.

The whole message of the movie: there's conspiracy, it's better to let go 10 criminals than putting 1 innocent in prison.

Yeah, not kidding, after #metoo, here's the stance: man are wrongfully accused of rape, there's innocent somewhere, it's better to let real rapists go free.

A spit in the face of raped woman. Once again korea show how f*cking sexist of a country it is. (u_u)

Lighthearted comedy, funny with a tendency to take itself too seriously. The ending is bad and doesn't make any sense (how did they end up here ?) while there was a good build up for a nice ending.

I liked it overall, not the best movie, not the worst.

I am part of minority that did not enjoy the movie =/ It was very boring for me and predictable....
Don't quite understand how/why people find this movie so exceptional ... I liked it, but it's far from the best korea has to offer. (°.°)

Didnt start this one yet, so not worth watching?
NOOOOOOOO ! Come back !

EP 1&2 (one case about a raped woman) and ep 3&4 (one case about a crime and accomplices) are weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell worth the watch. They're both like a good movie (with flaws, but a good movie nonetheless) with a heavy well written drama. Both aren't taking a side, that's the quality of the narrative.

But this week was ... nope, it looked like it was written by somebody else.

But there's a good side: since ep 1&2 and ep 3&4 are a story on their own you can watch them and don't give a damn about ep 5&6 (which I did, I erased it from my memory). Even if I really despised what they did I'm still waiting for the next ones. There's flaws in the narrative but I find this show to be amongst the best kdrama (for now at least). The main leads are especially well played (when it's not overdramatic ...).

Hard to talk about the show because it's all about "appearances" and you can't say anything without spoiling a bit but ... it reminds me of Sketch: it's flawed, there's some moments when you want to blow you brain out, but the good parts are SO good it's worth the watch.

So go watch it ! :p

"Have you ever wanted to punch a character in the face?"

Almost in every kdrama I tried made in the past 2 years. :(

Main reason why I stop watching a show early on now, I don't have the patience anymore for bad storytelling/characters. :/
