Last ep was terrible (30 useless minutes ... and the rest isn't better) but overall the whole beginning of the show (7 eps and half of 8) is a must watch (but not everyone will like this kind of humor). After that it's just a stupid first degree drama searching for way to end the story.
They shouldn't have tried to put a story in it. A procedural show, with independent ep full of funny stupidity (like the beginning of the show) would have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.
Kudos for kim byung chul, it was an acting lesson for the new idol generation. ♥
Don't know what happened, but his character is a complete retard ... is that supposed to be funny ? I mean, everything is kinda serious and credible but his character ? What's that ? He's overly stupid/excruciating (and somewhat sexist) on purpose, is this a joke ? (o_O)
Don't know what happened but he didn't give a damn about his role OR the writer/director thought it would be funny this way. If that was the case they were so very wrong ...
The worst thing you can do to a comedy: taking yourself seriously.
Ep 11 was so boring ... who cares about the story ? Why so serious ?
Since the stupid brain dead lazy tearjerking twist the show gone downward. Bye bye the over the top comedy, welcome the really serious story nobody give a sh*t about.
It was written right from the start, but it's a shame nonetheless: they didn't know how to end the show, they tried the serious way ... bad choice. They should have stayed on the over the top comedy track till the end. Just use the universe of the show for more and more funny things. that's why people liked the sow in the first place, that's why people were watching the show, give them what they want ...
Bah, the end is near, that was an excellent show for the most part, it's better than most of the kdrama for the past two years. :/
Ps: btw, the tribe ... I can't stand them anymore, there's too much of them and not enough of the others, there's a full first class cast, enough of the DU ffs. (<_<)
Everything NOT related to the main plot is entertaining, captivating, funny, touching ... The main plot is a big pile of donkey sh*t. Period. The last ep ... 1h30, I watched maybe 30-40 minutes out of it, everything else was fastforwarding with me ranting "FFS WE KNOW ! MOVE ON !".
The main problem of the main plot: over-exposition. At mid-show there's a WHOLE ep (45 minutes) to expose ONE twist ALREADY KNOWN. And the last ep is just that: exposition, cliche, exposition, nonsense, exposition, stupid pompous ending and approximately two thousands twists.
It's a shame because until mid-show it was impossible to let go (I must watch the next ep !) after that it was fast forward most of the time. :/
One thing to say: it was well worth the wait (one year). ♥ And Ryu Hye Young => ♥ And Kim Sun Young => (♥_♥) (as usual). Also: when they want it korean writers can make a good romance. Even the evil character was touching (BTW: am I the only one who wanted ... a better ending for her ? Her story was so sad :/ ).
A feel good drama, thanks the sub team for your work. :)
Another proof that something happened on stage: the way they ... ejected ? I don't know how to put it ...
Here's the situation: Park Kyung Hye is a somewhat important character. You see her often, she often has something to say ... not the main character but a character you see often.
Well, at some point she's here ... and the second after TADAAA ! You'll never see her again ! Worst part: there's a pretext for her disappearance (she's going away for a contract). But the said contract will never be talked again ! It's not important ! It was a turning point but then it wasn't anymore because of reason ! XD
Seriously ... hyeri and SKS, until the very end, were useless as f*ck. They almost never talk to each other, miss lee (the title of the show, excuse me for pointing that out) is NOT the main character, she is USELESS and do NOTHING for the enterprise. Yeah, she's crying, she's making coffee yadda yadda ... the perfect housewife, that's all she's doing in the whole show. (<_<)
In the end there's a sad twist ... and it's pointless ! When it'll happen you'll be wondering "what's the point of that ? Am I supposed to be sad while seeing this ? Is this supposed to be touching ? (o_O)". But the reason for the sad twist is even more stupid: to put the bad guy under the light and showing how he is the true hero of the show.
Yeah, there was a retcon in the middle of the show and until the very end they insist on how the one responsible for everything is the one saving everybody ...
Even worst (again) the ending is the beginning of the show (same scene) ... are you kidding me ? What's the meaning of this ?!? (o_O) Even worst (again and again): the bad guy who didn't take any responsibility for anything delivers a speech about responsibility to a woman he used for his own good whom was trying to survive and saving her dying mother. And it's the woman who's going to prison ! Everybody was a big pile of hypocrite sh*t, everybody was using everybody for their own good but in the end ... almost everybody is a good guy and only the woman is clearly going to prison while she' was the only one with a GOOD reason to be the way she was.
I mean ... WTF ?!? (o_O)
But then again I'm happy: it's finished, I can erase this thing from my memory now, but be warned: it's a clunky waste of time that doesn't make any sense (yep, I didn't talk about everything, there's more to tell about the last minute twist, the joke about youtube, the last scene ...), don't watch this, you'll only regret it. And you'll be sad because the beginning was so good and so promising it's a shame to have ruined a show because of something we'll never know. (u_u)
And here comes the complete amateurish cheap twist ... the ep 8 was a huge let down. Beyond disappointment.
I was so happy after the first ep because there was an emphasis on how it was NOT the dumb cheap tearjerking cliche ... and then NOPE ! It really was the overused cheap cliche ...
That's the kind of poor writing that makes me drop a show, I simply hate cheap lazy writing and unbalanced writing. (u_u)
The intro of ep 8 was touching, the ending was dumb. Period.
It's dumb but I found ep 7 touching. The ending of ep 6 too TBH, with kim byung chul being honest with lee dong hwi ... yep, there's a good relationship growing between these two. :D
On the other hand, the overall rating ... so usual. (u_u) But I'm not that surprised, the show is really extreme and from day 1 I thought this would be "a love or hate it" thing. It looks like more and more people are hating it ... too bad for them, this is the kind of show that makes love kdrama: it's different, it's refreshing, it's not serious and you could even learn something about korean culture. (^_^)
And above all: kim byung chul ! (♥_♥) His character is crazy, no doubt about it, but the way he acts this surreal lead character ... ♫ WHAT A FEELING ! ♫
ep 13&14: sooooo the show was cut. Instead of 16 eps there's only 14.
Sooooo abrupt ending. And since it's the end it's about the female lead and her worthless substory.
So yeah, sh*tty way to end a show with a marvelous writing. :/
Overall the show was fantastic BUT ... it could have been so much more.
Every double ep is an independent case for the human right inspectors. Almost every case is a little movie on their own about a heavy subject with a subtle narrative that doesn't take side. And that's the fantastic part. It's the best writing and the best acting korea has to offer.
And then there's ep 5&6 (a disgusting propaganda), ep 11&12 (terribly cliche) and ep 13&14 (ending emphasizing about something useless/worthless) . They can be ignored since every case is independent. But they're stains. Every other eps are SO good that they make these ones even more bad.
I'm disappointed. The show deserved a better end, to be longer, to not be cut and a better rating. But it's still amongst the best kdrama there is. (^_^)
... what's the point ? If you're dropping a show it means it's bad so you're giving a bad score. What's the use for a rating here ? Proving that only people watching the whole show knows the truth ?
The rating of people dropping the show is useless: it's obviously a low(er) score, nobody gives a high score to a show they don't want to watch. :/
IMO standard deviation is a more meaningful stat compared to the average rating of people dropping a show, it could (somewhat) address the issue of the raging fanboys giving 10/10 on every show after 1 ep because the male lead is beautiful. :)
ep 11: still hasn't started. There's many things to say but I'll stick to the theme of the day: when somebody…
ep 12: even more stupid and pointless.
The show will never start, something happened between hyeri and KSK, they STILL almost never share a scene together and are absolutely NOT working together.
And the writing ... it's as bad and excruciating as a chinese propaganda. They lost me at the "those who work hard are the leaders of our nation" ... what a joke. (<_<)
Bah, I'll stick until the end but there's no hope. It's a waste because it was good and had a lot of potential.
Dropping it after ep3: except the FL everything is sh*t.
FFS, there's a guy beaten to death with a golf club and then it's time to put some brain dead joke with a dumb character trying to hide in a closet ? Seriously ? Death and slapstick ? (<_<)
But even without that everything is ... bad. Simply bad, poorly written, cliche, unbalanced, uninspired ... typically the kind of show that pisses me off because they're incredibly bad whilst they could (and should) have been so good if the writer wasn't so untalented.
After ep 5&6 it's a disappointment: it really is a poor rip off of Squad 38.
Except this doesn't work. Not that it's a bad show per se but the characters ... are kinda dull. Or poorly balanced Maybe ? I don't know, I can't quite put my finger on it but that doesn't click. Especially Yeo Hoe Hyun, his character is too stupid to be interesting. And kim kwon too TBH, he's way too overboard with the tough guy act, it's ridiculous. :/
I think the most perfect example of the "meh" of this show is the restaurant scene: what.was.the.point. ?
Was it funny ? No. Was it useful ? No. Was it intense ? No. Was it here to fill the space ? Yes.
It's not that I don't like the show (nor that I find it bad) but the first two eps were really good. And after that the narrative shifted toward something more ... too clean ? Not on par with the intro that's for sure. :(
Lee Dong Gun deserved a "better" show, he's made for heavy character (he was really good on sketch). :/
ep 11 & 12 => big pile of tearjerking cliche sh*t/10.
It's always the same when writers try to talk about children drama: it's cliche upon cliche, it's made by adults for adults, it's made to make you cry so you can fell good about yourself ...
Plus it was a one sided story (with some disgusting propaganda about mothers treating their children like dirt, they really love their children you know ... f*cking prick, these moments pissed me off so much (<_<) ), so it's simply worthless because of its easiness, you can't be touching when you're (over)using cliche. It's not personal when you use what you saw in tv news, it's ... recuperation.
Maybe the intent was good but the treatment was terrible, everything was artificial to death.
Bha, it's just a case (with some (useless) ramifications to the female lead), that doesn't change the fact that it's the best drama of the season. (^_^)
They shouldn't have tried to put a story in it. A procedural show, with independent ep full of funny stupidity (like the beginning of the show) would have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.

Go preach somewhere else you raging fanboy. (<_<)

There's no suspense anymore, there's no point anymore: nothing bad can happen.
Don't know what happened but ep 1&2 promised something utterly different that what's shown afterwards.
Really disappointed. :(
Ps: Yeo Hoe Hyun charater ... kill him. Period. And kim kwon character too. (u_u)
