I like ishihara satomi, she's the same kind of character as in jimi ni sugoi but other than that ...
I think the problem is that satomi is playing like satomi (and that's good) while every other actors is trying to play like satomi (and that's baaaaaaaaaaad). That doesn't work for me. :/
TBH the thing I paid the most attention to is the earrings. Every time Satomi is on screen she's wearing a different pair of earring. Have to wait the 4th ep to see her wear one pair (a two chains earring, with something like a spike at the end, pretty nice) for the second time. :p
Bye bye the well written no side taken story, hello the disgusting cop propaganda. Cop killed a civilian ? Nah, the real victim is the cop. Cop abused power ? Nah, they arrested someone but they just didn't know the real crime he commited.
Yeah, a big pile of stinking shit, awfully oriented (like right right wing, a little less than Dirty Harry but right right nonetheless) ...
Also: bye bye the pattern. Two eps, three cases ? Plus the stupid twist at the end ? Seriously, it was made by another writer this time, this was so rushed it looked like a different show ...
There's a pattern, ep 3&4 were the same as 1&2: one story, one drama, MC worked on their own, overdramatic moment, sexist Lee Joo Woo scene.
But I like that (except the sexist and the overdramatic part of course). There's a real korean cinematographic feel to this show. Between the pacing, the emphasis on the build up, the stone cold character (now that I think of it Lee Yo Won character is very much like Kim Hye Soo character in Default, THAT is a good female lead) ... and the nasty habit of ruining everything with an overdramatic (and somewhat useless) moment. :p
Yeah, it's flawed but it's the most interesting kdrama since The Banker. (^_^)
Gosh I hate when korea try to make (copy) an american product ... it's so fake, so impersonal, so poorly acted ... so NOT korean I don't understand how people pretending to love kdrama/korean movies can like these counterfeit things.
Probably the overhyped show of this season, and as someone said: right in the middle people are going to stop watching it ... it's kind of ridiculous to see the same thing happening again and again. :/
Interesting but way too f*cking overdramatic and diluted because of that. (>_<)
The second ep => 20 useless f*cking minutes of exposition and slow motion to simply end on a cliff' you're waiting for since the firs ep. Mein gott was that excruciating ! (u_u)
But it's interesting nonetheless. Clearly there's going to be narrative problems (probably because there isn't going to be any romance (THANK GOD ! \o/ ), so they'll compensate with overdramatic ) but there's a good base. I particularly liked the first part of the second ep, with the two leads seeking the truth on their own path, the parallel was well made (and it's cool to see a solid female lead for once).
Waiting for this one since january (they said "2019", not which month ...), I'm pretty sure it's going to be terrible (too old to come back) but I have hope nonetheless. (^_^)
Overserious pompous tearjerking cliche and incoherent police drama with an excruciating male lead (Nishikido Ryo I mean, I just want to slap his bland face with a shovel) and a retarded whining female lead.
How and why stupid pieces of sh*t like this can be allowed on screen ? (u_u)
You MUST watch Wake up (the first) before Wake Up 2. (*_*)
The two part are different and make a whole saga that's clearly above the rest in terms of writing, characters, metaphor, build up ... I can't recommend it enough. ♥♥
ps: kudos for putting The Virus, one of the best korean bio thriller there is ... a genre way too rare for my taste.
A strange mix between Lie to Me (the american show) and a ... soap/comedy ? But that works for the most part (there's dilution in the middle of the story, around ep 13, really boring/annoying). Enjoyable, likeable characters, nice/funny romances ... give it a try. :)
These you mentioned are anime I assumed? I'm not "that" huge of fan of anime, so I've only seen a handful that…
Yep, Akagi and Kaiji are anime both made by the same guy (for the manga) and same studio (for the anime) and ... it's a really particular art style to say the least. :p And today I learn that the voice actor is the same guy for the MC of One Outs, akagi and Kaiji. :D
Anyway, there's 2 movie (Akagi the gambler) and one drama (Akagi) for Akagi ; there's 2 movie (Kaiji) and another coming in 2020 (Kaiji Final Game) for Kaiji. Never tried them, I'm not fond of live adaptation, especially when I'm a huge fan of the manga/anime version. Since you don't know them you could try them out. (^_^)
"1) Story: The story of this serial is quite unique. I have not seen anything like this, have you? Please let me know if you have."
... really ?
I tried (and quickly dropped) the anime version a long time ago. It's a rip-off of Touhai Densetsu Akagi: Yami ni Maiorita Tensai (one the best anime of all time) and Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor (interesting but not that much after Akagi).
And if you like the psychological part (in fact there's only that in Akagi and Kaiji: talking, thinking, scheming ...) you can try One Outs (on par with akagi for the best anime of all time, in their own kind of course) where the emphasis is put on the manipulative side of a gambler. The manga is really good too (the anime version is about half of the manga I think).
The biggest problem: you must know something before. For Akagi you must know something about mah-jong, for One Outs you must know something about baseball. Otherwise ... it's kinda hard to follow. :/
Kaiji doesn't have this problem since ... it's set in another kind of games. :p
Both Akagi and One Outs have an ... there's an interesting message about the real meaning of winning that's in complete contradiction with the usual concept of winning. They both features an antihero explaining and showing that winning is NOT beautiful and NOT something to be praised for. They're both pretty cruel and sadistic BUT realistic in the thought. Both are amongst my favorite anime of all time, and both are really unique in more than one way. And both have the biggest SOB for MC you can find in any kind of shows. :p
Well ... the subs are terrible. :/And the drama too. :/Maybe because this was the first ep but the narrative is…
Well ... it's not gonna be good. :/
The subs got better (thanks team) but the drama itself ... meh. :/ The sport part is ... almost the anecdotal one. There's so much emphasis on evyrhting that is NOT related to rugby it's cringy. Family, business, council reunion, bad guy in suit ... you name it, the story is diluted to the point I'm wondering what the show is about. :/
And the most problematic thing: transitions are the worst ! You're in a room and then in the street then in the field then at home ... WTF ?!? (o_O)
Too bad, it could have been good, but it's going to be meh at best. :/
Yosha, there's a team on it, the first ep is subbed ! \o/
Well ... the subs are terrible. :/
And the drama too. :/
Maybe because this was the first ep but the narrative is totally messed up (it's going back and forth, here and there, now and then ... WFT ?!? ). I'll try some more but this is a disappointment. :(
And the kid ... please put him in a fridge and don't touch him until the last ep, he's cringy and useless. (>_<)

This says it all I think ...
XD, XD, XD !
'nuff said.
