I do hope this really becomes a good show. However, even if it isn't, I still will watch this one just for the sake of Kang Ki Young. It's his first time getting a ML role, and really the stepping stone for future projects. I really wanted him to take this role bad, even if the script wasn't to his liking, cause, really it's his chance to get a ML role for a show, something that's not easy to get after years and years of doing support roles. And who knows if he had declined this offer, how long it would have taken to get a ML role in the future. Glad to know it's finally happening. Interesting, I didn't actually even notice the user's drama ratings. I looked the profile up, and it's 1 star for older dude-younger girl, 10 star for older woman-younger dude. Like, it's automatic. I smell something. A terrible smell of pathetic hypocrisy. I mean, what someone likes or not is pretty much personal choice, having kink for older woman-younger man shows is fine, as long as we are dealing with adults here, And I don't really wanna kink-shame this person. But the problem is, The way this one write reviews and comments about My Dearest (I've seen this one posting many times in my dearest comment section) and constantly focuses on the age-gap element, It's almost CREEEPY as F. This one just hates older man-younger woman couple. Let's say you are a man and you get into a relationship with a younger woman, both of you are adults and it's consensual and everything, but that's not enough. Now, you two gotta go to Spatina here, and ask him/her, "Oh dear supreme-opinionator, the godfather/godmother of logic, do we have your permission? Since, even though you are basically a nobody to us, your kink, opinion and virtue-signaling is more important than our, two adults freedom of choice."

I've seen actual couples with age gap bigger than these two actors who are happy and living good life. Just because you have some kind of f-ed up distaste for age-gap doesn't mean others will share your trashy values. Both of the actors are adults and know what they are doing, stop your trashy virtue-signaling, as if you have any virtue to begin with.

I understand that people have different opinions about a man going to hostess bars and meeting hookers and doing drugs, but honestly, if it's not the opinion of the person's family, I couldn't really care less. Point is, he didn't harm anyone. The only people that he should feel sorry towards for any of the things he did (allegedly), is his family. They are directly affected by his actions. So, they decide what they have to do about these things between themselves. The general public really doesn't get to perform virtue-signaling, as if they themselves are all great people. What bothered me most is how he was made to publicly apologize. That shit was f-ed up. As if he committed treason, war-crime or mass-murder or something. This is something pretty unique to SK, something you see in K-dramas actually, but we got a real life showcase of that. Public is disappointed. I couldn't care, I couldn't care about public's disappointment, especially the public being a "Collective set of people". He wasn't a person in a position of power in this case, the public was. You see, 10 thousand people won't commit suicide due to the shitty virtue-signaling and witch-hunting committed by One Singular Celebrity. However, one singular celebrity or even one single person will commit suicide if those 10 thousand people keep doing those things to him. That's what happened I believe he was also questioned for about 19 hours by the police and authorities. Now, look, unless you are a seasoned criminal with lot of experience, that 19 hours could really break your mental. And I believe he passed the drug test, so that 19 hours were for what exactly? It was witch-hunting. Everyone was hellbent on ruining him. The allegation of "Drug Use" was enough for everyone to make a public circus at his expense, no matter the context. And he probably knew that due to this circus, his career was over, more importantly, he knew that whether he used drugs or not, people already had formed their opinions about him, and that mattered more than anything else, his acting skills, his long career and resume that he built for over 2 decades. And acting obviously mattered to him. And the final result of this fiasco was his untimely death by suicide. Every country has problems. No country is unequivocally better than SK just because celebrities are treated as such, this is not about nation-supremacy. However, a problem needs solution, and it shouldn't be defended in the name of "Oh, our culture is different", "This is Korea, so f off" . That's a form of cultural conservatism that, if people kept buying into after decade and decade, well, women still would have been treated as 2nd class citizen in the entire world, we still would have slaves openly showcased in the market for rich people to buy. These changes, that made the world better, weren't actually all that popular initially among the public. Point is, on an administrative level to general population level, there needs a change in people's perception regarding drug usage, especially the drug-laws that are unrealistically strict. I say unrealistically strict, but I guess, If someone from a Chaebol family takes drug, all of a sudden it becomes "Not so Strict". There also need a change regarding public's unrealistic expectations from celebrities, like they have to be so nice, so charming, so good-looking, so (white-skinned), so much of a family man, So much of a polite obedient woman, this shape of nose, that shape of face, that type of eyes, never smoked a cigarette, no fault whatsoever, ALL IN THE SAME PERSON. This really needs a change, nobody can really meet these expectations, honestly, despite how much the talent agencies and acting agencies try to make them look so in front of the public. Otherwise, these things will keep happening.

So, before tragedies like these go out of hand, it's important that people recognize that it's high time to really think about it and really do something about it. And it's not just celebrities, general people's life also go haywire whenever drug related problems occur in SK. So, this trend, for whatever reason has reached a problematic length in Korea, needs to be taken care of. And so it should in other countries too. In any case, ABH as a male lead is something I had waited for years, ever since I first saw him on Her Private Life, Finally started happening with Yumi's cell back in 2021 I believe. It's unfortunate that dramas like these will still retain a significant portion of the ratings that were put initially by the diehard fans. MDL really should make it so that people can only write things about the ongoing drama in the discussion settings, and can't both write the reviews and more importantly, give ratings before 50 percent of the episodes are finished, that is at least 8 episodes are done if it's a 16 ep drama. Otherwise what happens is that the initial ratings are highly inflated, and even after the drama faceplanting halfway, the overall rating still looks very good, giving a very misleading picture. MDL has cases of so many dramas like this. On the other hand, better dramas with maybe not so popular cast and fanbase gets lukewarm ratings. It's been so bad that nowadays I have difficulty trusting a drama's ratings in MDL if the Drama's cast are Super Popular. It's difficult to really gauge the validity or these ratings. I believe, this drama is also competing for ratings with Park's Marriage Contract drama, and probably they are also competing with this one. This is a prime case of toxic fangirling/fanboying, something that they do in social media and some other ratings platforms. Sad that MDL has become one of those platform to unabashedly and shamelessly fanboy/fangirl for a drama.
Enjoyable drama, with really great background music. And the timing of the music in scenes sometimes really send shivers down the spine. The fight scenes are good, so is the overall storyline, I would say the execution and the pace of the storyline kinda fell of in the last 2 episodes, which made them overdo some things, like very unrealistic fighting conditions where it's pretty much impossible for some of the characters to really survive. Plus, there was one aspect of the ending that really felt Unfair, about a character, but I guess that kinda made the storyline even darker. Overall, I feel like it needed 10 episodes rather than 8 to really do justice to the ending, even with all the untied ends. But, anyway, for just 8 episodes It was really enjoyable. One interesting thing about the drama was that they didn't show too much backstory of the vigilante other than that his mother was killed and the criminal was given a very light sentence, there weren't like teary mother-son relationship scenes that we seen in general dramas, with flashbacks and emotional tones. Yet, it felt so relatable to most of us. We felt what rage was boiling up inside, how horrendous was the feeling of weakness. It's as if the story was talking about us. Despite not really trying to make the execution of the story too emotional, it somehow made us BE more Emotional, like it touched our nerves somehow, that made us relate to the character of the Vigilante on a really deeper level. That's actually a craft. And yeah, season 2 is really needed. Because the story didn't really end and there are Multiple lose ends.

Yeah, been seeing it a lot lately, not that it already wasn't a problem. MDL should actually make it such that viewers can rate a drama only after about 40-50 percent of the drama has finished. If people keep wondering whether they should watch the drama when only like 4-5 episodes have released (assuming it's a 16 episode show), they can simply look through the comments, and that will give them an idea about the "Worth-Watching-ness" of the drama initially. That will at least keep the Pros and Antis from Inflating/Deflating a drama's rating this early.
How can you know it won't? That's the point. If people keep inflating/deflating the ratings this early, this won't give an accurate picture of what the overall rating should be after the drama has finished. Many things happen in between those 14 episodes. Not to mention, if the show becomes bad halfway, most reviewers and raters don't adjust their initial ratings afterward. This results in the drama still being high rated, even though people didn't like the show afterwards. MDL is quite filled with such cases. People at the very least should wait somewhere around halfway before starting to give such high/low ratings of a show en masse.
I don't know, every time I watch him I just feel like, "Dude, He's Gorgeous!!!" I loved the fact that he was in a positive role in the drama "Love to Hate you", generally he does a great job at negative roles. Him not partaking in more positive roles in K-dramaland feels like a waste to be honest. But then again, considering how great he is at playing villain, I understand the tendency of drama-makers to cast him in negative roles. But then again he is so great-looking......
