Apart from being an event of peace and forgiveness of Cheng Shao Shang to LBY, actually the WYJ incident is a…
You know what, now that I think about it-- you're right. There had been problems within the Lou family since the beginning of the drama and the majority of them stemmed from the 2nd chamber being oppressed within the family. I like the comparison of Lou Ben & his wife and then Huo Buyi & Cheng Shaoshang. I wonder, if Huo Buyi had been killed unjustly at the cliff before given the chance to save CSS by severing their ties/trust, would CSS have wanted revenge too?

I had forgotten about Cheng Shaogong going to Guo County with CSS haha. It makes sense then that he'd go back and get his military family for support after she didn't return. I just didn't know that Cheng Yang had any experience riding horses/going in to save people because we always saw her at home reading & studying.

I definitely agree with the royal family thing. I've seen many cdramas with terribly toxic relationships between the Emperor/his wives, and the children; relatives killing one another & plotting against each other, jealousy, etc. But this time I actually ended up liking Consort Yue even though she had a strong personality, and I ended up liking the Third Prince, even though he took over as Crown Prince. Both ladies had some kids that were arguably good and some kids that were bratty, but all their storylines were all fleshed out pretty well. Huo Buyi's statement that "not everyone is as they seem" in the palace rang true as the drama went on.

Third prince ended up being a good and reasonable crown prince instead of simply a jealous, scheming brother

(Ex) Crown Princess ended up being petty, vengeful and jealous despite how pitiful & nice she seemed in the beginning

Consort Yue ended up being a very fair & logical Empress, despite first impressions and typical stereotypes (the envious & bitter consort, etc.)

Hi I wanted to answer some of your concern/ comment that you mentioned. As there are version with bad translation…
Hey, thanks so much for your comment explaining things! It definitely cleared some things up & helped offer a new perspective.

I LOVED the whole revenge arc with Huo Buyi and I agree there were lots of little hints throughout that eventually gave way to really meaningful episodes (and the big event at the Ling residence). When I said revenge I was actually referring to the multiple ladies trying to kill Shaoshang (in the carriage with the dagger, at Guo county with the buttermilk and then the dagger, and then in the basement with the fire [3 girls altogether]). It just seemed kinda hasty that all three of them would try and get revenge in succession (and I was so disappointed that the wife of Luo Ben turned bad too!). But you're right, it did present an opportunity for Luo Yao and He Zhaojun to get rid of any final doubts, and most importantly for Cheng Shaoshang and Huo Buyi to finally get back together. I love your analogy of the fire symbolizing a rebirth of their relationship. They realize that they should cherish the person in front of them, because they could technically die at any time. I also rlly appreciate the phrase "If the heavens is righteous, then for sure they wouldn’t let fated lovers part." It seems like the theme of the drama. That, and the quote "men are the sun, women are the stars, both have to co-exist to sustain the planet". It's another reference to the title, Love Like the Galaxy ;))

That revenge stuff crammed into the last few episodes was kinda odd. The ending of a drama is supposed to tie up loose ends, leading to its resolution, but instead it just kept introducing more conflict. Felt like the plot with Yanji & the fire's only purpose was to get Cheng Shaoshang & Huo Buyi back together quick. And it was just one revenge plot after the other... for what? For Huo Buyi to come to the rescue like 10000x and risk his life 10000x before Shaoshang finally decides to get back with him? Plus, the scene at Guo village where the Cheng family suddenly came to Shaoshang's rescue... how did they even know she was in trouble? And where? And why on earth did the WHOLE family come? Suddenly Cheng Yang (Yangyang) can ride a horse AND fight? Why's she charging into battle? So many questions...

Oh well. I really tried to enjoy the ending of this drama but tbh I just felt like I was forcing myself to finish it. I feel like it could've been done better. That being said, I did enjoy this drama, I just felt like it deserved a better ending (the characters deserved a better ending too).

I must say though I enjoyed the plot twists; especially the arc with Buyi's backstory. Perhaps Ling Buyi being Huo Buyi was easy enough to guess, but I was blown away when it was revealed that he had been in cahoots with the third prince all along (and third prince wasn't actually that bad of a guy???). I think that relationship could've been explored more though. Third prince seemed under-utilized overall.

After a long break from watching dramas I watched this and from the first episode I loved it. It felt a bit rushed…
For real, my mom and I had one episode left to watch and she was like HOW is the conflict gonna resolve itself in one ep??? How will they have time to get married??? etc etc

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
One of the tags says multiple couples who are they?
Gu Qianfan and Zhao Pan'er, Sun Sanniang and Du Changfeng are the official couples. Chen Lian and Ge Zhao Di get a thing going too. And by the final episode, things are foreshadowed between Song Yinzhang and Chi Yan Nei (but literally just during the final episode, nothing happens during the series).

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
I'm on ep19 and i'm struggling to finish. I have short attention span and tend to get bored when the 2 leads get…
YUP! They mostly have small misunderstandings until Gu Qianfan finds out something big & thinks Pan'er will never forgive him... so he stays away from her & subsequently she thinks he's abandoned her & starts to hate him. It gets resolved in the end but it definitely leads to misunderstandings and separations for a few episodes.

Ok why did the end of episode 27 make me cry tho?
First I felt REALLY bad for Buyi when Shaoshang rejected him harshly, and then I felt emotional when Shaoshang FINALLY realized how much he cares for her...

It didn't help that there was this really powerful, moving instrumental in the background at the time lollll

After watching 13 episodes here is my verdict. Do not go by the 3 episode kdrama rule, that doesn't work for cdramas…
THIS, but for me it was episode 7. Halfway through the episode I realized that I was actually really enjoying it. I was enjoying the characters, the dialogue, the story, and I was really anticipating what would happen next. You're totally right tho, the first few episodes are quite dull & slow moving--- however it's worth it if you stick with it.

Title Ghost Doctor Spoiler
How come Cha Young Min was able to remember everything from when he was a coma ghost?
I like to think of it like this: his surgeries were his lifeline. They're why he remembered what he did as a coma ghost. They're such a big part of his life-- they're one of the main reasons why he keeps on living-- and so he was able to remember everything because even as a coma ghost, he was doing what he lived for.

Coming back here because it was one of the best rom-coms of the year. Ever since I finished it I couldn't find another to watch. Y'all probably won't believe me but I actually enjoyed this even more than A Business Proposal.

I managed to keep it together until the final 10 minutes of episode 17. Then I just started bawling uncontrollably. What a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
I'm not even gonna lie, I really don't understand their relationship dynamic. I don't think I've ever seen something…
It's like... he loves her, and wants to keep her close to him and protect her. She loves him, but she never wants to let him know, and she'd rather protect him as a court lady than serve him as a concubine.
