They made the ”popular guy falling for the plain girl” trope in the best possible way . His tiny bursts of jealousy, them grumpily avoiding e/o at home, her adamantly avoiding any skinship, him serial dating every female who hit on him… So many good moments! I squaled when he went inside after he saw her with the 2nd guy and he couldn’t stand so he just slumped over. My favourite trope 😭.
Didn’t care for second ML especially when he pulled out his psycho antics.
FL really good in everything I’ve seen her in. Super expressive and both endearing and hilarious. ML very good looking (especially when grumpy) but sadly not that good an actor. Still made my heart skip a beat every time he showed how much he loved her.
All in all, cute and entertaining. Surprised by how much I loved it.
Found this dedciption on wikipedia: "kind and gentle men who, without being bound by manliness, do not pursue romantic relationships voraciously and have no aptitude for being hurt or hurting others."
I don’t know whether the ml was intended as herbivore but he certainly wasn’t aggressive in his pursue of a love life lol. So when I took a deep breath and tried to view him not as a romcom lead but a comment on the different approaches to masculinity (in Japan?) my blood pressure went down 😄
This drama is crack 😭😭. I’m rewatching it now after staying away for a couple of months (so that I can experience that glorious rush once again). The imperfections are more visible now but it’s still the fluffiest piece of wholesome entertainment ever! Can watch Miura tease Haruta aaalll day!
i want to lose my memories just so i can watch this for the first time again
I knooow! I know this isn’t a suspense show or anything where rewatching subdues the magic but I’d LOVE to experience it for the first time once again 😭
I liked this very much despite its shortcomings. ML lead was frustrating as a romcom lead but if you look at this as a study of herbivore males he makes more sense.
Just finished it, bad subs, abysmal video quality and all. It started great but went nowhere. Had lots of cute moments though. Yamaken with that hair reminds me of Yamapi, and Ayame kind of looks like Ariel Lin. Loved their building.
Not bad but felt rushed (like every other manga adapted jmovie). He took way too long to realize and act on his feelings. But the acting was superb so it was super engaging despite the cliche storyline and underdeveloped ML.
The bdsm talk at the beginning was odd. Maybe I’m too old but do highschoolers really engage in that stuff? Or was it all talk? The ”friend” who brought it up with Kyoya, OMG such a cringe scene!
Oh, I just saw that Kishitani Goro (the proofreaders’ department head) and Ishihara Satomi played father and daughter in Bozu Bozu Kazoku in 2003! So cute!

That’s it. That’s the comment.
