Hola! can any of you give me some spoilers? In what episode do they start dating?Do they have any break up? if…
I’m not sure about the number of the eps but they have a good start and a fun, flirty period until they start dating around the middle point. They’re pretty bumpy and on-and-off in the last 3-4 eps I think. FL makes some immature decisions that has consequences.
Fun drama, good chemistry. The ML had amazing small facial expressions, really liked his acting. The FL was cute but immature. Loved the scene when she was telling her impressions of the ML working, to her uncle. Someone likes her men on the confident, domineering side. She couldn’t stop squeeing lmao.
Liked the many cooking scenes (that sadly disappeared completely in the latter half). It was going well all-in-all until the last few eps where the FL made some really stupid decisions but the ML ended up begging for forgiveness?
Watched him in Side story of Fox Volant his portrayal of Miao ren feng was brilliant and stood out the most. I…
Watching him for the first time in Dating in the Kitchen and my first reaction to him was “I sure hope he’s a thing in ancient/hardboiled hero type of roles” because whoa that aura 🫠
The romance is barely there, so avoid if you’re going into it expecting a romcom.
Super adorable and healing kind of drama, although quite slow paced. Episodic in nature where we get to know different elders and their lives, problems and experiences.
(I wish someone’d make a BJT cut of the whole drama because he’s a whole load of sunshine and cute and it’d work as an excellent remedy to seasonal affection disorder.)
I don’t understand how this was getting so hyped up left and right when it was just an average drama. Especially the second half felt so half-baked. It was funny at times, some cute moments, that’s it.
Was annoyed to no end by the way 2nd FL sulked and got angry at the guys bc of them switching places for the marriage meeting when that was literally the entire plot of the first half of the drama, that they (the FL and 2nd FL) themselves cooked up first! Like?? The hypocrisy.
the "space" theme in the story makes it automatically sensitive to government censors so it has to be very positive
That’s true, they must’ve been extra careful to show it in the best light possible. Like, that wife was in her full right to be sad that her husband was away on a mission while she was at the hospital. So it felt weird that they showed HER being understanding like the right choice at the end. They had to continue sacrificing no matter what. I get that they need to be understanding, etc but it was so one-sided.
I’m a sucker for the ”the most popular guy ever falls for the worthy but socially inferior heroine” trope and HOW this drama delivers! He was such a goner for her throughout and she was super affectionate and adorable back at him. Much squeals were let out at my household. Their characterizations were superb!
The supporting characters were fun but some of the stories felt kind of slice-of-life, pointless in a way. Got surprised that the romance was the main plot even after they confessed (some dramas tend to abandon the rom once they get together).
This was my first cdrama and it felt very much like a PR job for the state, is that common for cdramas? I usually watch j- and kdramas and you see the up and downs of life and the characters can fight against the system, be unhappy with their circumstances or be the underdog. Here it felt like everything was perfect and your only enemy is yourself; if you are unhappy you need to change your outlook!
Don’t get me wrong, I binged this and thought it was super refreshing with a lead pair that actually were lovey dovey once they got together and solved their issues by actually talking, etc (made for the woman gaze?) but their complete acceptance of their crazy schedules and the outside life felt didactical and kind of made them look like machines or the cogs in the wheel. Don’t mean it as a criticism, just wondering if this is how cdramas usually are.
Pros: Cute chemistry between leads No villains or crazy exes Supportive cast, like you know you have it good when even the manager of a superstar wants her to have a relationship! Lots of cuddling and a lead pair who behave like they’re in love even after they get together.
Cons: The gaaaamiiiiiiing scenes that never ended for the entire first half of the drama. The space stuff felt preachy at times; like ”don’t expect your spouse to be with you, learn to take care of yourself, the state/job/machinery is more important than your sorry ass” I wasn’t too fond of ML’s acting (sorry)
Ugh, can’t with the unapologetic infidelity. Two of the three female leads are in affairs with taken men (one married, the other with a live-in girlfriend) but focus so much on their own happiness while ignoring the morality of it. It was all very infuriating. The reason they regretted their actions is because they themselves felt invalued or something, not because the cheating is hurting other people? The married guy comes to say sorry to his girlfriend when his wife just had a critical c-section delivering their second child? And is portrayed as cute?? It’s honest of him to admit to finding his wife’s postpartum depression troublesome? Wtf dude? Who wrote this?
Positives: Sakaken is insanely cute and Yuriko is very good. They had great chemistry in their limited space.
