They got together and were happy because while ML's work was demanding (but important, propaganda muchđ), FL…
Nah, it was basically propaganda for âwork comes first!â. They were shown as superduper happy to have their works as the biggest, non-negotiable presences in their lives which is so very dark to me. Like, âyouâll always be a cog in the machinery, you better stop whining and start liking it here :Dâ
the ML supposed to be a hard cold killer and supposed to only see her as a pawn in the novel he even raped her…
While romanticizing rapist isnât something Iâd like to watch (and the censors wouldnât even allow, so would have to skip cdramas if thatâd be my thing) I agree his transformation to cuteân fluffy went way too fast. Even his villain accessory small dog disappeared! Thereâd have to be a middle ground.
Maybe her realizing him not being the mass murderer so fast is what threw the dynamic off balance? He still talks in drawl and appears to be promiscuous and cynically world weary in front of others. So when we get to see him without those theatrics with the FL it gets boring?
Crown Prince to SFL : [ Fufang => SML's residence ; Zhixiang => FL's residence ]"People from fufang pavillion…
I think Fufang was the pavillion where they watched the Fire Dragon when they were younger, and where Jing He was taking Mei Lin. And the Tower was something JH talked about, where heâd prepared 10 beauties and invited Crown Prince to.
So CP basically told Luo Mei that those olden days of Fufang Pavillion were long gone and her beloved JH was partying it up with girls at the Tower now. So she should stop pining for JH and start looking at him instead.
This Shumo was too ambitious and he never learned from his mistakes. How come, even if he knew he was dying from…
No no, I donât mean he is a girl himself. Just that the character behaved exactly as some heroines in dramas behave when they donât talk or listen to the ML and wanna âhelpâ him behind his back. Thereby risking her own, and sometimes even the MLâs safety or life. And often derailing MLâs plans or dragging him into bigger trouble.
This Shumo was too ambitious and he never learned from his mistakes. How come, even if he knew he was dying from…
Shumo was basically a stand in for every other ~girlboss~ FL in dramas who keeps getting herself in trouble in the name of her ideals, and sabotaging the MLâs plans. Only he died.
I liked the premise, and Iâm a sucker for a good revenge story and a low-key crazy power couple. I loved the…
I get your rant, really do. Sounds like you arenât in the mood for this drama rn? Or that it simply isnât the drama for you :(.
Happens to me all the time. Once I start to notice all these things the drama is basically dead to me. Sometimes it works to come back to it after a while, when the hype has calmed down and I can take it for what it is.
(Iâm writing this while hyperfixating on a particular body part of one of the characters that TPTB kind of try to hide; they even used a body double for it once. And I keep rewinding and rewatching scenes as I keep focusing on it instead of the dialogue đ )
I totally agree with you. I would have loved to see FL offering a great performance to the king. Unlike the plot,…
That's the sad part: that she apparently is a good dancer and they decided to go with this for her big dance performance? TPTB made her (and us!) dirty. Boo!
Iâm at ep 20 and the way 17 keeps using his scarred torso as a litmus test for whether girls like him or not takes me out đ
Also, please let me know where I can find a relationships chart for that boat ride of secret liaisons and spontaneous deep sea divings (and the Vampire Demon wasnât even on board)
ETA: Finished! What a fun drama! Full of twists, turns, tropes, several inexplicable love lines, crying (both pretty and ugly), sweeping OST, casual torture, dates involving mating merpeople and much much more. Not a single minute was wasted! Usually I canât stand fantasy elements (started this bc I didnât know it was about deities and demons and rabbit people (?)) but was thoroughly entertained. Well done drama!
This was a good article with an unnecessary headline. But like the insight into the lives of the struggling actors. The last part is so fascinating; so many k-talk shows seem to rely on drinking that he has to especially mention that.
And seems the reactions of the audience was more to her color shifting robes more than the dance itself? They even mention there being better dancers in the court before she starts so itâs almost certainly her magic dress that gets them going. I hope it was more impressive in person cause I for one did not have fun. When I hear dancing I expect *DANCING* dammit!
Just to warn you that this drama started foreshadowing sad ending too so now we be worried đ« You will see at…
Sorry for butting in but I went to check and I was stuck at exactly ep 26 lmao. It was so fun at the beginning too, but so boring now? Idk how almost every other cdrama I check out manage to have a fun start and then fizzles out.In romances I usually lose interest when the otp gets together but it wasnât even the problem in You Are My Secret bc they were a couple from the beginning almost. Someone help me!
hahahaha, I love your comment. They were afraid that she will burn. This is why they looked at her with opened…
I knoow, I just read her profile and was so sad at the obfuscation of dancing talent that obviously took place in that room in order to make place for !!!color shifting robes on fire!!! which.. meh..
Lmao what was that dance scene in ep 5? Beside the color changing fire thing which mightâve been cool but cringed at all the reactions like.. She literally just stood there, waved her arms and twirled a little and they all look in awe as if sheâs Madhuri Dixit đ
Eta: rewatched it and I guess they were impressed by the pyortechnics but the dancing was still embarrassing

I mightâve misunderstood though.
Sheâs basically decided to adopt him atp, hasnât she :D

Madz has spoiled me for dance scenes forever đđ. They mention dancing and give me a magical burning dress⊠THE DISAPPOINTMENT
