Even his villain accessory small dog disappeared! There’d have to be a middle ground.

Maybe her realizing him not being the mass murderer so fast is what threw the dynamic off balance? He still talks in drawl and appears to be promiscuous and cynically world weary in front of others. So when we get to see him without those theatrics with the FL it gets boring?

I think Fufang was the pavillion where they watched the Fire Dragon when they were younger, and where Jing He was taking Mei Lin. And the Tower was something JH talked about, where he’d prepared 10 beauties and invited Crown Prince to.

So CP basically told Luo Mei that those olden days of Fufang Pavillion were long gone and her beloved JH was partying it up with girls at the Tower now. So she should stop pining for JH and start looking at him instead.

No no, I don’t mean he is a girl himself. Just that the character behaved exactly as some heroines in dramas behave when they don’t talk or listen to the ML and wanna ‘help’ him behind his back. Thereby risking her own, and sometimes even the ML’s safety or life. And often derailing ML’s plans or dragging him into bigger trouble.

Shumo was basically a stand in for every other ~girlboss~ FL in dramas who keeps getting herself in trouble in the name of her ideals, and sabotaging the ML’s plans. Only he died.

Happens to me all the time. Once I start to notice all these things the drama is basically dead to me. Sometimes it works to come back to it after a while, when the hype has calmed down and I can take it for what it is.

(I’m writing this while hyperfixating on a particular body part of one of the characters that TPTB kind of try to hide; they even used a body double for it once. And I keep rewinding and rewatching scenes as I keep focusing on it instead of the dialogue 😅)

ETA: Finished! What a fun drama! Full of twists, turns, tropes, several inexplicable love lines, crying (both pretty and ugly), sweeping OST, casual torture, dates involving mating merpeople and much much more. Not a single minute was wasted! Usually I can’t stand fantasy elements (started this bc I didn’t know it was about deities and demons and rabbit people (?)) but was thoroughly entertained. Well done drama!

This was a good article with an unnecessary headline. But like the insight into the lives of the struggling actors. The last part is so fascinating; so many k-talk shows seem to rely on drinking that he has to especially mention that.

And seems the reactions of the audience was more to her color shifting robes more than the dance itself? They even mention there being better dancers in the court before she starts so it’s almost certainly her magic dress that gets them going. I hope it was more impressive in person cause I for one did not have fun. When I hear dancing I expect *DANCING* dammit!

Sorry for butting in but I went to check and I was stuck at exactly ep 26 lmao. It was so fun at the beginning too, but so boring now? Idk how almost every other cdrama I check out manage to have a fun start and then fizzles out.In romances I usually lose interest when the otp gets together but it wasn’t even the problem in You Are My Secret bc they were a couple from the beginning almost. Someone help me!

Lmao what was that dance scene in ep 5? Beside the color changing fire thing which might’ve been cool but cringed at all the reactions like.. She literally just stood there, waved her arms and twirled a little and they all look in awe as if she’s Madhuri Dixit 😭

Eta: rewatched it and I guess they were impressed by the pyortechnics but the dancing was still embarrassing
