Nope, it wasn't just you. I've had people tell me that he isn't Big Mouse because he asked for the names, but…
He didn't want to convince them otherwise, but he didn't care if it did. By asking the mayor for those names, he alerted him to the fact that Gong Jihoon knew about the ledger. That created upheaval between the two and the prosecutor double crossing them, which is exactly what Big Mouse wants. It doesn't matter that the mayor and Jihoon don't believe he's Big Mouse for a few days, because he was given a deadline to prove that he is, and he will, but not by using the names the mayor gave him. So if he never needed those names, why ask for them?
Doesn't really mean much if they are on different platform? It's basically how many subscribers having access…
*Edited to add clarification*
"MPA’s data showed that Netflix accounted for 33% of the 14.1 million SVOD subscriptions in Korea, ahead of Wavve with 19% and Tving with 18%. Coupang Play, which is bundled with the Coupang home shopping service, accounted for 8% and newly launched Disney+ 7%."
This means that Wavve and Disney+ (where BM is available in Korea) make up 26% of streaming subscriptions in Korea, while Netflix (where EAW is available in Korea) makes up 33%. If Big Mouth is #1 in streaming, that means it's accomplished that despite the 7% advantage every drama on Netflix has.
EAW also has the power of worldwide availability through Netflix to boost it's popularity and streaming wherever available. Big Mouth can only be watched illegally or through VPN by those who know to look for it outside of the 9 countries Disney+ has given access to. If Big Mouth is streaming more despite that, I think that's good news and does mean something worth celebrating.
This wasn't an attempt to talk down to EAW, btw. I'm watching and enjoying it as well.
also wasnt it really obvious that he was trying to make choi doha think he was innocent by asking for the names-?…
Nope, it wasn't just you. I've had people tell me that he isn't Big Mouse because he asked for the names, but look what happened when he did. Everything unraveled between the mayor and Jihoon. It's also made both of them cocky and certain that he isn't Big Mouse. I don't think a lot of people understand what a con artist does.
It's pretty cool that Big Mouth is officially out-streaming Extraordinary Attorney Woo in Korea, despite not being on Netflix. I wish they had the overseas exposure, but ratings come from there, so that's still very good news!
Until now I thought that Jerry is the most suspectful, but trailer of episode 5 changed everything.
I've always thought it would be PCH in some capacity, but trailers can be very deceiving. If he really does hang, stab, and burn Jihoon's lackeys and it's not just a threat, there is no going back. There is no value in making him do the evil things Big Mouse does (so early on and completely out of nowhere) if he isn't. Since this is only Ep. 5, they're either going to let us continue to doubt, or the plot is going to shift from wondering if he is or isn't, to what happens now that we know.
I personally think he's going to threaten the VIP's with the same torture they put him through, but let them live. I also think the episode will end with us still unsure and arguing about whether he is or isn't... but we'll see!
In longer 4 min trailer there is a small clip of PCH removing white mask from the face of a person. I think that…
I've always thought he'd lift the mask and see himself, because his reaction wouldn't make sense otherwise. He looks absolutely shocked and horrified. After all that he's been through, who else could get that kind of reaction out of him? It can't be his wife, FIL, Jerry, or best friend because this is a man as tall as he is with the same build and haircut.
But I also think this scene might be a dream. It's possible that we don't get to see who it is, or we won't know if its real or not. They could even convince us that he has a twin with this scene, but in the end, confirm it's really just a split personality and he imagined that personality as a different person.
It's actually from A-Story, Studio Dragon, and A-Man Project. tvN was going to air it, then MBC bought it. Disney+ and Wavve are just streaming platforms.
I don’t know why but I just can’t find big mouth as dark as they want to be. It might he because I watched…
If they wanted it to be as dark as Insider, they wouldn't have PCH flinging poop at the guards or psychopaths crying for their mommies. It's a drama with multiple personalities, and that's what makes it less boring than others like it.
i really wanna watch this drama but it's not available yet in Canada 😭
It probably won't be released in Canada and the US, so if you have (or can get) Disney+, you should watch it using a VPN.
If you were to travel from Canada to South Korea, your Netflix or Disney+ accounts would show you the content available in South Korea instead of your home country. So if you download a VPN (NordVPN, Surfshark, etc.) and select South Korea ( or any of the other countries Big Mouth is available), your connection will think that's where you are and Big Mouth will pop up. I hope this helps!
Thank you! What you said about the main characters is an argument I haven't used, but always think about. The…
Agreed.
So far, they haven't made him do anything bad or unforgivable. It's been defending himself, instigating fights, and lots of talk. But in the previews for next week's episode, we see him hanging, burning, and slashing all 3 of Jihoon's lackeys in prison. It's possible that it's only to scare them, and they will all be set free before they die, but he's getting dangerously close to a point of no return. Even if he's just "pretending", he will no longer be a good guy. In that case, what's stopping them for making him the real Big Mouse? It's more noble to have always been than to be a good guy who was conned into becoming a monster.
As a very real-world argument, this is Lee Jongsuk's comeback drama post-military service. His company (A-man Project) executive produced the drama, and he's good friends with the director. They even said his opinion was considered when casting other characters. He's spoken a lot about enjoying a good sad ending, and wishing more dramas didn't end like a fairytale when the story calls for it. I also don't see a scenario where someone else being Big Mouse doesn't take away from the lead character, so I'm pretty sure it can't be someone who is going to outshine either of them.
I think it would be a bit irrational to think that Big Mouse isn't one of the main characters. In most stories,…
Thank you! What you said about the main characters is an argument I haven't used, but always think about. The title of this drama is Big Mouth/Big Mouse. The main culprit's identity is what this entire drama is about. It's illogical to think it isn't going to be one of the main characters. Add the fact that Big Mouth and Big Mouse is a homonym in Korean (they are both spelled and pronounced 빅마우스), and it's hard to believe Big Mouth isn't Big Mouse.
There are two ways it can go. He's either been Big Mouse all along (split personality/twin/etc.), or he will become him. Since the synopsis already tells us that he'll have to take on the identity of Big Mouse to save his family, I'm pretty sure that isn't what's really happening. Drama's aren't too big on spoiling the plot twist in the synopsis. He's also been telling us the same in his [very unreliable] narration the past few episodes. And yes, while PCH being Big Mouse is an obvious guess from the start, the writers have done a really good job of flipping it back around to seeming unlikely. That's why everyone is in the comment section guessing Miho's ex-boyfriend and cellmate #5907. Nobody can tell if he is or he isn't.
Like you said, Big Mouth (the crappy lawyer with a bad success rate) is the ultimate hiding spot for a con-artist like Big Mouse. He's hiding in plain sight (with the exact same nickname!) and working in a field that gives him access to all sorts of information a con artist would drool over. It even led him to the mayor himself.
The money in his office walls is also nearly impossible to explain unless it planted it there himself. That had to be there long before the mayor hired him and Gong Jihoon tried to kill him. If he were being framed for any of that, they would have planted a key to a bunker of cash and drugs in his office drawer. PCH's life was saved by the report that he's Big Mouse, too.
I'm glad you're exposing yourself as one of the jerks who are purposely downvoting it. Trending dramas with few criticisms, high ratings, and this much hype don't go from an 8.9 to an 8.2 in the same 24 hours everyone is hyped about it unless anti-fans are spamming the rating.
WTH? Who gave bad ratings to reduce score from 8.8 to 8.5 in 5 minutes? This is seriously a deliberate attempt…
Right? It was at 8.9 yesterday. The better this drama gets and the higher the ratings are, the more people who prefer other actors or dramas will downvote this one. It's really pathetic.
If the big mouse is indeed CH then is it really him who made this stupid plan too?
No, that's what they said, but it's not necessarily true. It's not a coincidence that PCH is the one he picked when all of that money was already in the walls of his office. It's also not a coincidence that PCH's life was saved when an anon tip said he was Big Mouse. The prosecutor working with the mayor said the evidence against PCH is indisputable. All of that isn't happening because the mayor picked this crappy lawyer by chance.
The mayor said the underworld got him elected, but that Big Mouse changed the game and is now out to get him.…
This could be, but Park Changho is still vital to everything going on. Jihoon was going to have him killed in prison, and the news of him being Big Mouse stopped that from happening. If it isn't PCH himself, there is still a reason Big Mouse involved him and doesn't want him dead. The fact that all of that money was in his office walls also means this has been a long time coming.
ya'll what if changho have a twin brother that looks exactly like him and that he's big mouse? changho just wasn't…
That's always been one of my theories. There are images in some Big Mouth teasers of Changho out of jail, dressed in really nice clothes being Big Mouse in full view of everyone. At the time, I figured he couldn't be living with a stolen identity if they didn't look identical. In the first episode, they say nobody knows what Big Mouse looks like, so that isn't necessarily true anymore, but it made me seriously consider the twin theory. The fact that absolutely nothing is known of his background is suspicious.
