shame that the good shows are the ones with the least number of episodes
Take it from me... be grateful. So many amazing dramas end up dropping the ball when they go on for too long. It's far better to get a good drama from start to finish than be crushed by an awful ending.
Yeah I was surprised why Choi Hyunwook was offered this before Jongsuk. Was it for the same role?
Yeah, I'm really not sure. It doesn't make sense that they'd ask a very popular, senior actor bound to bring a big audience AFTER a newbie. His age also doesn't fit the plotline at all. I know he was recently caught in a scandal a few days after news of him considering this drama was released, but that still doesn't explain why a 21 year-old received this offer in the first place.
Rather than his looks it is the robotic acting that bothers me. 🏃♀️💨
What is the point of saying that to someone who likes him? Does it make you feel good to bring someone else down? It's not going to make me or anyone else like him any less, and it just makes you looks mean and bitter. Hope that's what you were aiming for.
My opinion may be in the minority but I don’t want to see him in a romance. This usually means tons of deep…
So while I agree that he's very good at the dark gritty stuff, that's all he's done since 2021. Big Mouth, Decibel, and Witch 2 were all heavy roles. If you haven't even watched them yet, what's the point of him doing another instead of switching it up?

It's sad that a grown ass man is talking shit about an actor online, and that he still doesn't know the difference between fact and opinion.
I'm not fangirling. Check my MDL and all the dramas I've watched and enjoyed. It's just that when it comes to dramas I have fallen in love with and truly felt connected to, Lee Jongsuk has starred in more of them than anyone else. His acting makes me feel something the others don't, whether you say he's subpar or not.

That's called an opinion and it's one I absolutely don't share. Nobody has ever made me love a drama more than Lee Jongsuk. He is the favorite actor of many, many people. If you aren't one, maybe you should spend your time rooting for who you like better.
1. Let's get this out of the way. Every single Korean celebrity has gotten work done. Every single one of them. End of story.
2. The best Korean dramas all have boring plots. This is an established fact. The more interesting a plot, the more they lean on that to carry the drama and the more disappointing it becomes. And judging a drama by it's preliminary synopsis is stupid.
3. The synopsis of this drama wouldn't have even worked with Choi Hyunwook. He's 21. Reuniting with a past love from a decade earlier means he would've been 10 the first time they dated. I don't know why he was ever offered this role, but it didn't even make sense.
Jongsuk has never had a flop drama. They have all been high rated and well-loved. Haters looking to make people upset and drag him down are just salty.
The synopsis is wrong. Hong Je Bi is the female lead. Kim Tae Kyung is the male lead.
I'm positive.
From Soompi: "Lee Jong Suk is currently in talks to take on the role of the male lead Kim Tae Kyung, an instinctive, grounded, and righteous character. Meanwhile, Go Min Si is in talks for the role of the female lead Hong Je Bi."
The comments here are so extra. It's a cute drama with a stupid, unrealistic ending. It's not awful. People shouldn't run the other way. In fact, I really enjoyed it. It had a nice vibe throughout.
Male lead is perfect. The only issue was script in last few episodes, it went other way in last few episodes.
Lee Jong Suk did the director a favor by choosing this drama, not the other way around. Whether you think he's talented or not, most people who watch dramas do and enjoy his work immensely. As a result, this drama was always going to be a hit. The fact that he nailed his part and got people excited for each new episode made it a bigger hit. It's the writing and terrible ending that brought disappointment to the drama in later episodes. That's when they became extremely fortunate to have Jongsuk, because he's the only one a lot of us would stick around for after the quality dropped.
But whatever. According to your profile, one of your favorite actors is Song Joong Ki, who belongs to LJS's agency now. I hope you have to encounter him lots in the future!

LJS has incredible range, and did an amazing job portraying this character. In fact, if it weren't for him, I think the drama would have fallen flat way sooner than it did. He is popular for a reason. You don't have to like him and it's not required that you see what the rest of us see in him, but he is at the top of my list because of the emotions I feel while watching his characters. I don't get that from anyone else in k-dramas, and this role was no exception. Anyone trying to blame the disappointing ending on him is entirely misguided.
And don't get me started with the people who have to push LJS down to lift their favorite up. I like Kwak Dong Yeon a lot, but no amount of bitching is going to get him a leading role. Only he can make that happen for himself. Until he does, you aren't doing him any favors by pitting him against all of the successful male leads he works with. It just turns people off.
I know a lot of people are fixated on his wife dying, but the ending sucked for me because we didn't get any answers.…
Yeah, exactly. I could understand if the writers were going for a grungy, depressing ending where the good guy loses, the bad guy wins, and nobody got their vindication or answers to anything... but then they killed the mayor and added that "triumphant" montage at the end.
Honestly, all they had to do was suggest that PCH was the mastermind all along, or that someone else had been orchestrating everything from the start. The ending would have been saved. To have one final satisfying reveal that may have left things open-ended, but gave the viewers intrigue like they did throughout the entire series would have been ideal. Literally, all it would have taken is a single knowing smirk from PCH, or a final glance into the camera with a suspicious look on his face.
But no. As it was, it just felt like someone new without any of the answers wrote the final episode.
I watched the drama and since I came to the comment section before I watched it, I was prepared for the ending…
I know a lot of people are fixated on his wife dying, but the ending sucked for me because we didn't get any answers. The whole thing was left hanging so Miho could be sick and die. It was poorly done. It never lost it's entertainment value, and people who binge-watch the show won't feel the same as those who speculated between episodes as it was airing, but for those who watched, rewatched, made predictions, and wanted the answers to certain questions, the ending was a bummer.
If you're just knocking the whole season out in a few days, there is no time to feel attached to theories or even think too far into what's going on, and that's a bonus.
PCH was shady af this entire episode. His reaction to Miho asking if he's Big Mouse? His unwillingness to answer whether he's lied to her? The revelation that he would pull all-nighters in his old office despite not having any work to do? They really painted him as someone with a lot of time spent unaccounted for.
I've thought for awhile that he is the elder's grandson, so him probing Gong Jihoon into finding the son so he could inherit the money and assets was... interesting. Gong Jihoon said he didn't like talking to the guy because he's a demon, and all PCH has to say is, "So you aren't going to track him down?" Shady.
