Lol the mere fact that PCH has broken the 4th wall for several times is very telling... I said it last week and…
Totally agree. I posted my theory about the 4th wall after episode 2 and no matter how many times I consider other theories (twin, split personality, etc.) there are just too many things that point to him knowing that he's BM. Now they are showcasing the flashback clips of him in high school to solidify it. He definitely beat those 3 kids up (all bloodied, but he was without a scratch). Didn't he tell us through narration that he'd never punched anyone before he knocked out Chairman Yang? He's just a lying liar! And I don't believe that milk he got for half price was really for the other orphans. It was a con.

I should really go back and collect all of his narrations and see how many of them have been caught in a lie so far. Several, I bet.

In the first episode, PCH ambushes Gong Jihoon in his house and tries to sell him the black box footage from the accident that killed Seo Jaeyong. When Gong Jihoon doesn't seem interested, PCH tells him, "This sword that I hold is tremendous." Gong Jihoon calls it a toy sword and kicks him out.

We now know that Big Mouse's symbol is a sword with flames around it. Coincidence? Probably not.

I still can't understand why it's named big mouth
Because it's PCH's nickname that he received for being a crappy lawyer. Big Mouth and Big Mouse are spelled and pronounced the same in Korean, due to them not having the "th" sound in their language. So the Korean title is a homonym (same word with different meanings) for both nicknames. For the English title, it has to be one or the other, and they picked "mouth" over "mouse".

When someone says the plot is messy, it usually means they just don't get it. It's nearly impossible to judge an incomplete drama this way, because plot holes are only detectable once you've seen the whole thing.

Also, BM isn't the only mysterious character that manipulates everyone. Half of the bad things we see happening are coming directly from Gong Jihoon and others at the NR forum. BM is just a conman.

(I got requests to share my theory from reddit over here, so here it is. )

"Ok, so I just realized how important the high school/first meeting flashbacks are.

The first one appears to be PCH being bullied by some kids, and Miho pulling him out of the situation to have lunch with him. They bond over not having a mother and the bento she prepared for him.

But what really happens is that PCH is in trouble for bullying some kids. He dodges Miho's dad's punishment and says he did nothing wrong. The other kids swear he started it and that he's an athlete, but he uses his orphanage as an excuse for why he would never do that. Miho says she saw what happened and the other kids started it, but she admits to PCH that she wasn't really there. It's also worth mentioning that all three of the kids are beat up, but PCH doesn't have a scratch on him. This is significant because he said in his narration in ep. 2 that he'd never punched anyone before knocking out Chairman Yang. This is an obvious nod to his lies. I swear, he's an unreliable narrator.

I think PCH did start the fight and he was using his orphan-status to cultivate a sympathetic image. Because in the epilogue, you see him conning people out of buying the cheap milk so he can have it. Then he charms his employer into giving it to him half price. Then he says for him to take it out of his paycheck for the month, but the employer says there is nothing left of his already small paycheck, but PCH charms him into letting him do it anyway. When asked why he buys all the cheap milk, his boss says he is from an orphanage and gives it to the kids so they can grow. In reality, he's probably selling it for a profit. It's a con. But Miho overhears and believes this, leading to her saving him from getting in trouble in the scene we saw earlier.

I think they are slowly revealing that their relationship was built on a con, but he was so good, nobody saw the truth. I do think he loves her, and I think that's why he balanced being "stupid and lovable PCH" while also becoming BM. This also makes sense of the scene between them in ep. 7 when he's in the hospital. He says he feels like there is a wall around BM that he'll never be able to break through. I think he knows that he has to choose between BM and his wife. That's why he's craving the days of normalcy where they just watched tv, took naps, and played games. I really do think Miho figured it out a long time ago, but is either lying to herself or they're both pretending for the sake of each other."

Will repeat, BM is someone related to Chang Ho. Blood relative. He is treating PCH like a prince/heir of his kingdom.…
BM is Changho himself.

Did anybody get the reference of the hotel? W Hotel is a nod to the world of W, right? Can't be a coincidence.
W Hotel is an actual chain of hotel that is sponsoring the show, but I don't think the reference was lost on anyone.

Good points! There are too many plotholes at this stage. One thing comes to mind though: PCH was poisoned with…
Gong Jihoon poisoned him both times though...? The first time he was poisoned for messing with him, and the second time, we literally saw him giving Jerry the drink to give to PCH.

After brainstorming for so long, I’ll conclude that PCH is BM. Seems like a split personality disorder. But…
I think they're doing a really great job of keeping everyone so unsure of their own theories, that everyone will have a big reaction to the truth. That's all we can really ask for!

I can not warm up with this series. What is so great about it?
I really don't understand posts like these. If you have a genuine complaint, give it in detail so it can be discussed. If you just don't vibe with the show, what do you think any of us can say that will make you change your mind? People who like the show enjoy the good acting, good writing, and mystery element that makes the drama interactive. If you don't, what is there to say? Go find a drama you like.

while i do agree everything looks very suspicious rn im not sure i actually believe hes big mouse... or rather…
I went into this drama assuming the male lead would be Big Mouse, but I never thought until watching that he would be living a double life. I always figured the twist would be a twin or personality disorder, but now, I really do think he could just be conning everyone without the expected twist and explanation. Only time will tell.

The fact that he's speaking to us in present perspective almost makes it look like another version of him is talking to us while the other is living it out. That could support the twin theory. If the voice we are hearing is his other personality lying to him about what he's really doing and why, that could make sense too.

Or, like I've said, he could simply be aware of us and is conning the audience as well. We ARE watching him, after all. If the premise is that he's the world's greatest conman, I think it does make sense that he would be so good at what he does that he's even aware of our presence and found a way to con us too. It seems like a thrilling, interactive spin that most people won't pick up on despite the super obvious clues (like the end of ep. 6 when he calls us idiots for being fooled). A twin or personality disorder is still fun, but they are more obvious twists that has been done many times before. The idea of a main character being aware of its audience and purposely misleading them with shady narration is something I've only read in books, though I'm sure it's existed in television and film before. It just isn't done a lot.

You are letting your hopes for the drama get in the way of possibility. Your main reasons for not thinking things are true is that you don't want them to be, then you say it's bad writing because you don't like it. Just let it happen and then judge how you feel.

And most important thing Bigmouse is genius conman and all the activities by PCH are doing are of conman.
I agree with what you said. That's why I wanted someone who disagrees to explain how he can't be BM. I want to understand the rationale behind that.

I have a question for people who don't believe PCH is BM. How are you interpreting the final scene of ep. 6?

If he's saying, "I fooled you all, you stupid idiots" how do you figure he's just some lowly lawyer trying to survive in prison? All the men behind him walked, everything he was trying to do failed, and his life was just threatened by Chairman Yang. He looked confused and fearful before switching to maniacal, cunning and confident in a split second. Even if you figure that he conned everyone in the prison as PCH, doesn't that still point to the possibility that he was BM all along?

slightly has this feeling that he has schizophrenia because this scene when he opened his eyes after the accident?…
I'm glad somebody else noticed how weird the first episode's ending was. I knew it meant something significant because of how bizarre it was, but most people seem to glaze over it when coming up with theories.
