I'm liking what I see from the teaser so far. I have high expectation for this one! Another new subbing project…
Thanks for subbing this, I was able to watch it thanks to your hard work. I dropped Duang Jai Kabot halfway because I did not find the story or the romance interesting enough but I really liked this version. Pa and Nampeung became one of my favorite thai drama couples. ^^
This is very entertaining.. up to episode 6 and I like it so far.. Not quite like the FL acting though.. and I…
If you have finished it, do you still think the same way? Cause I personally thought Mike and Mook had better chemistry than Mike and Now. And I also thought this version was a lot more interesting than Duang Jai Kabot. When you wrote this comment you had watched all episodes of Duang Jai Kabot and only 6 of Maturot Loghan so its normal for you to feel a stronger connection to the first. But now that you have completed both, what do you think?
A lot better than the other version, like you cant even compare them. I ended up dropping Duang Jai Kabot before I reached half of it and just skipped to the last episode to know how it ended. Idk if its because the whole princess and protector thing was kind of boring or because I did not really feel the romance. I still decided to give this one a chance although I was not impressed with the first one. And guess what? I really liked this one. Not only did I find the story a lot more interesting, I thought Michael had much better chemistry with Mook than with Now. In fact, Pa and Nampeung go to my list of favourite thai drama couples.
The whole supernatural thing I could have done without, and I know the writers could have still kept most of the story without it. Like police not being able to find the village because there was some sort of secret passage and not being able to fight the bandits just because they are too good at fighting, like Pa did not even need any superpower with those moves (hum, and muscles). But I know its a thai thing so I just skipped those scenes when I though they were too cringy.
Overall I really liked this drama and looking at the score, my guess is that I am not the only one thinking this version is better. At the moment, Duang Jai Kabot has a rating of 7.4 while Maturot Loghan is rated 8.8. That is quite a difference for 2 dramas from the same series.
I live in Europe. Maybe this drama is only showing in Asian territory and maybe in the US too? Not sure. Hopefully this will be uploaded later in some site and then I can watch it.
I was wondering if anyone else was feeling this way! I have watched almost all of Xing Zhao Lin's dramas and am…
Well, if you watched up to 30 I think you should keep watching just to get it over with since this has 38 episodes, or you can do like me and cheat the system when I feel even those last episodes are too much (thats how bored I felt) and just watch the last one to know how it ends. XD
So, about half of the drama (the first half) was nice and all. We had our two main couples: Yun Ye and the Princess…
If you are still in the lovey dovey part with all the couples happy, then please do. You won’t be losing anything and will save yourself from a lot of heartache and anger.
I honestly don’t know why I put myself through dramas like this one. I was already tilted enough that the writers made some misunderstandings take that long to be solved, but making someone get pregnant after having intercourse only once so they could make them get married and drag the plot for longer just to then kill off the kid a few years later when she is not convenient anymore...ugh, there is another drama that had something similar happen but the girl was the female lead’s daughter and there I cried but on this one I was just angry.
Deok Shil was such a waste of a character. Why did they go the cliché way when they could have made her the male lead’s good friend and confident instead of turning her into such a horrible person? Oh, wait, if she was a good person then she would not have slept with the male lead while he was drunk and calling another woman’s name, got pregnant, married him and tied him down until almost the end of the drama. Honestly, they could have reduced this to half by just changing her character.
I fast forwarded so much and still felt like this was a waste of time and energy. If the writers did not have a decent enough story to fill 102 episodes, they should have just kept it shorter. Honestly, even 52 would be too many.
The so called ''fanservice'' was really ruining it for me at the time :/ I guess ecchi shortly followed along…
Yeah, I agree. Obviously I dont feel disgusted when it happens because they do have nice looking abs . XD But I do feel that in some dramas they make it too obvious its fan service. Its one thing to have the actor come out of the shower and we see the abs, cause hey, they are there and that scene is needed because the female lead will appear step on his towel or something and create a funny moment for us viewers, but it is another when the camera is filming the actor showering for several minutes while showing each drop of water falling through his chest...like, is this still a drama or am I watching something else?
Hello, ep 1, I don't remember the pregnant lady paid him, did she? I don't think he's a prostitute, he just fascinates…
I have not watched it and probably wont but the synopsis really left that impression. Of course since I did not watch it I might be wrong that is why I said "So basically he is a male prostitute that lives off of these 6 women??" as a question and not an affirmation. But since it has the mature tag my guess is he is going to get involved with them, in a very intimate way if you know what I mean. If you have only watched 1 episode maybe its too early to know. When you have watched more can you please spoil me as to what kind of relationship he has with all these women?
I found it quite slow paced and a little on the boring side. The focus was more on their jobs than their relationship and a lot of episodes they did not have even one scene together. I am not saying its bad, you might like it. But it definitely was not my cup of tea. Not even Xing Zhao Lin was able to make this interesting for me and I have liked most of his dramas so far.
Why do I feel that the synopsis is a summary of things that will take over half of the drama to happen??...which would mean it is a huge spoiler. Hopefully I am wrong, but from the pace of the first 2 episodes and the fact that the second male lead has not even showed up, yup it will take a lot of episodes for all of the things mentioned in the synopsis to happen.
EDIT: Ok, so some things happened faster than I thought, I have only watched 10 episodes. That is the thing tho, the first 5 or 6 episodes were extremely slow paced and then out of nowhere she accepts to marry the male lead? The story seems to be all over the place and so far I have not been able to get into the drama, and I had this on my plan to watch list for years but it is nothing like I expected and if the next few episodes continue going at this weird pace I might drop it.
Hmm, this is the kind of drama I would rather wait to be spoiled by the comments before I give it a try because I wont even waste my time if this is another story of a cheating husband and a female lead that will be crying half of the drama and trying to get revenge in the other half. Let’s wait and see. I really cant deal with cheating, there are enough jerks (men and women) in real life, I dont have to go through that in dramaland too.
I have literally watched hundreds of chinese dramas alone, not counting dramas from other countries. And this one I watched over half an year ago so recommending something similar wont be easy but I will try. Some dramas that might (or might not) give a similar vibe that I could find through my complete list and that I rated at least 7/10 are:
I know a bunch of other chinese school dramas but they either have a less dramatic vibe or I rated them under 7. The ones I mentioned above have at least 2 things in common with this one: main leads shown during both school life and as working adults and some dramatic happenings like being apart for several years, accidents and stuff.
Honestly, these kind of dramas are not really my cup of tea so I do not have a lot to recommend. Most of them I find draggy and end up skipping a lot of scenes. I am 25 years old so I kinda grew out of school dramas and prefer dramas with working adults, and the ones I do like are mostly the fluffy, romantic and funny kind of school dramas and not so much the dramatic ones.
Did you use the mobile app or desktop app and what kind of account do you have? It might also be a country issue although I tried using a vpn and still got the same error.
Yeah me too, but open endings can be either depending on how you see it, that is why I dont like them most of the times. I prefer to be sure of what happened and there were only a few dramas that managed to pull a well done open ending that I was not angry with because it was interesting. If given the choice I will pick happy ending every time.
Yeah, most likely. Usually chinese school dramas have either happy endings or open endings. Tragic or sad endings are more often seen in historical ones. Although depending on the ending I sometimes prefer a tragic ending than an open ending.
There is no way that dead woman is Dong Baek. I mean, its possible but I doubt the writers will pull that one knowing the consequences - aka angry viewers. The easy option is Hyang Mi since she is a kleptomaniac and as far as I have watched we only see the bracelet, we did not even see the woman’s hair. And the hands of Dong Baek look a little rougher than the ones from the dead woman. But like I said, that is the easy way which is very predictable.
Another option is for it to be some random woman who happens to own the same bracelet since that bracelet is a cheap one that you get from one of those crane machines. And who knows, maybe her ex-boyfriend got more than one of those and gave it to his wife and she is the dead woman. There are many options, and I honestly hope it is not Dong Baek because I would feel sorry for her son and not Hyang Mi because it is just too predictable. Please, surprise me.
