I probably did too. Have not watched daily dramas for a few years. Probably forgot about some other daily drama that I hated 5 years ago or something. ^^' My main issue with this one is that I saw potential in it for the first half or so just to see it go downhill in the second half.
The worst daily drama I've seen was The Two Sisters. That was AWFUL!
Did not watch that one so I cannot comment but I believe you just for the fact that as a Korean production it has a rating of 5.4 I think that is the lowest rating I have seen on something out of South Korea here on MDL.
I think everyone hated the FL, including the writers. Cha Jeong Won had no chance from the start. Sigh
Her ending was also boring. Ju Yeong Chae got the typical FL happy ending and the FL got whatever that ending was. For me the second half of the drama turned into a circus. They could have made the FL character a really interesting anti-heroine but reduced her to just another character participating in the circus that the second half was.
yc is the main reason i can not rate this drama more than 6 so far .....
That is exactly one of the points I mentioned in my review. Her character was completely unnecessary once the FL fully assumed her identity. Even if she died in Italy or something, her mother would have kept the FL as her fake daughter just for the shares. The ending they gave her made me want to throw up.
I have watched several "soap opera" style kdramas over the years but this was honestly the worst of all of them.
Up until half of the drama (around ep 50) it was tolerable although I felt they were throwing big reveals left and right too soon and worried what they would do for the other half.
Here is how this could have been at least decent:
- Ju Yeong Chae should have been written off pretty early on. Maybe died while she was not in South Korea. Her mother would still have gone ahead with the plan of marrying off the FL as her daughter for her own interests. - Cha Jeong Won should have stayed longer in the house playing the daughter-in-law role, maybe even getting pregnant to bring more complexity to the situation and slowly getting revenge on her mother. Her identity was revealed too early, it was supposed to be the main conflict and BIG SECRET of the plot. - A lot of the new reveals and birth secrets that were added in the second half should not have existed, instead of adding to the plot they made it worse. - They should not have ruined Jin Se Hun's character completely. - The FL did not deserve an easy happy ending but Ju Yeong Chae deserved it even less. The ending they gave her is something you would expect a FL to get. Her relationship with Jin Se Hun was even less believable than his fast infatuation with the FL after only a few dates. The 2 of them together made me want to throw up.
I could complain about so much but to sum it up, believe the reviews with really low ratings. The first half is ok but the second half is a circus and the clowns are us, the viewers.

Exactly. I do not know if the drama is that bad or if the person who wrote the synopsis has no business writing anything. So many words used and they conveyed nothing at all. The synopsis itself bored me because it felt pointless.
Don't start by reading comments atleast not from the comments on this app
Since the summary is not doing this drama any favors, reading comments is the only way I can tell what the story is even about and how most people feel about the drama. I read many comments to make sure I am not relying on just one person's opinion.
The summary alone does not make me want to start this...it sounds boring. I will wait until more episodes are out to read comments and decide if it is worth watching.
The manga finished being published back in 2010 so there is a gap between how teenagers are nowadays and how they were when the characters were written. I can only imagine how you feel about 2026 teenagers when I who was one only 15 years go already feel such a huge generational gap.
Teenagers used to be a lot more mature so it makes sense you would find some characters not realistic or authentic. I do feel this adaptation could not capture some things the original work (manga) did. The Ninako from the manga felt more authentic than the one here.
Going off the subject is something I do all the time too. No worries.
I will turn 32 next month so it has also been a while since I finished high school. I agree the other couples were more mature...to the point it was not very realistic since they are teenagers.

I read the manga back in 2010 so I am probably being more forgiving than I should but also...they are teenagers so we cannot expect them to make mature decisions and be experts at communicating their feelings and thoughts.

I read the manga once, over 15 years ago, but somehow still remembered most of the characters and their personalities. Usually I am not a fan of unrequited love plots but this was a manga I read while being in an unrequited love myself and my teenage self could relate to the characters, probably why it made such a big impact that I still remember the manga after so many years.
What were you expecting Ninako to do, throw herself at him while he had a girlfriend or right after he broke up and he himself said he did not want to think about dating? She confessed once. He rejected her...as he should since he had a girlfriend.
Once he was single, he should be the one chasing after Ninako, not her. He put very little effort into the relationship, if she did not ran after him at the end and told him her feelings...AGAIN, he might have stayed quiet and just assumed she had gotten over him without even getting a proper reply to his confession and like that they would just graduate and each go their own way.
When I read the manga back in 2010 I was in high school and also had a crush on someone who was just like Ren, so I saw him in a better light but now as an adult, Rens' passiveness got on my nerves a lot more than Ninakos'.

As an adult woman now, I see the story a bit differently.
I did not like how Ren spent time with Ninako when he had a girlfriend or how Ninako insisted on being around him when she knew this and the girlfriend was also the sister of her long time friend. Ren is not as good of a boyfriend material as I found him to be back in high school, same thing about the guy I liked back then...I would never like someone like him now. It is interesting how your perspective about something can change as you grow up. As a teenage girl, like Ninako, I felt sticking to your feelings was more important than anything and that I would choose the guy I love over the guy who loves me. Ninako was there waiting for the entire drama while Ren did little to pursue her. Even when he finally confessed he did not even wait for her reply and just assumed she rejected him. I would imagine he would be a big headache to have as a husband.
But were talking about teenagers so the way they acted was pretty realistic, frustrating and dumb but realistic. It was a nostalgic watch.
