The main plot was good and made me cry almost every episode. But the other characters, the second couple and Jae Min classmates, I really did not care about....and they stole so much screen time too, what a shame.
It did not help that the actress playing the second female lead was nowhere on the same level of all other actors, even the ones that only appeared a few times here and there. With a different actress I might have given a chance to the second couple, but I ended up skipping all of their scenes.
The actors playing the main couple did a great job, I felt all the pain with them. Ouch, my eyes hurt from all the crying. T T
P.S. - Someone in the comments recommended reading chapter 60 of the webtoon. It might make you feel just a little better after all the heartbreak.

So, how is Mu Zi Li going to explain to everyone coming back alive? And what about the family on the other universe where suddently there is no Mu Zi Li anymore?
This really was like a winter night, one where suddenly you are left without electricity, your phone ran out of batery and you cannot fall asleep because you are not sleepy at all...a very boring winter night.
Honestly tho, I had no expectations when I started watching. They could have gone with the thriller/mistery theme and I would have loved it, they could have gone with the super romantic full on chemistry and I would have liked it too, if they went for the moving maybe even tragic theme, I would have cried my heart out.
Yet, for me, this was missing everything. The characters were not interesting, the plot had a weird pace, almost like they wanted to make a 40 episode drama but then remembered it was only supposed to be 24, the whole parallel world thing was so put aside that it did not even feel important at all, even the female lead’s hairstyle and her constant lack of emotion bothered me.
To make it worse, and like some people are saying, they did not address the big elephant in the room. They ended it in a way that was not only bland (like the rest of the drama) but also lacked logic.
If I described this drama as food (cook here so I like to use this kind of comparisons), this was a soup. A soup that the cook forgot to add salt to so it was nothing more than water with a bunch of stuff floating around.
I am pretty sure I have watched a drama in the past that started exactly like this. The female lead needed to be married for work and the male lead was being forced into dating by his mother and out of frustration decides to pretend to be the female lead’s husband.
Cannot remember the name of the drama but almost thought this was a remake since it has so many similarities.
Much better if not more than 30 eps, reduces tons of 3rd couple screen, adds more Leads emotional line. Compact…
I have watched many chinese dramas with only 24 episodes. But yeah, even 30 would have been better than 40. For me the 3rd couple was not even needed, I did not care much about them. The romance between the main leads and between the sister and the rescue guy was enough. There was no need for a 3rd couple, and one that took A LOT of screen time too.
It wasnt confusing to me at all, it was always explained. I liked it a lot.
That might be it. As a viewer I felt like I was not taken seriously. I am a picky watcher. I like intelligent plots with as little holes as possible. I was not amazed at the way the story was told.
I wanted to like this since it has a great cast and themes that I have watched before and liked. But for some reason I found the pace and the way the story was told boring most of the time. Probably would have been better with about half of the episodes and maybe removing one of the couples or at least focusing less on them.
If this was 24 episodes long instead of 40 it would have been a lot easier to watch and enjoy.

I am not talking about the plot being confusing, but the way the drama felt like it was amazing at times and then it felt like a really bad drama at other times. Like I said, almost like 2 different people wrote the plot.
What left me confused was not the plot itself but the feeling the drama gave me. By the end of it I was not sure I had just watched a good drama or a really bad one. I think it was the exectution and the way some characters were written that made me feel this way about the drama as a whole.
At first it looked like it was going to be a good drama but at some point I felt like I was watching a really bad drama that I could not wait to finish because I was so done with it. Very confusing.
Yup, I agree. I don’t think I would be able to forgive something like that. I may forgive the person but I would not be able to be in a romantic relationship with that person anymore.
I think it is jealousy. They see him being nice and want that for them. But it is really dumb. Think about it. If you get him to cheat on his partner with you, what makes you think he won’t cheat on you when you are the girlfriend/wife?
I know. This woman really got on my nerves. So many men around, including the second male lead and she has to go for a man who is about to get married. Grrrr
We also have that expression in Portuguese. Mal parida would mean something like her birth did not go well so she ended up like this. It is also another way to say that it was a waste for that person to be born, aka a bitch. ^^'

But for some reason I started slowly losing interest around the 3rd week or so. I kept watching but it was not a drama that I could not wait to watch the next episode. There were a few clichés thrown here and there that made the plot predictable and boring, some characters did not have a proper backstory or a proper ending, the love triangle was one of the worst I have seen, the last few episodes were disappointing, and so on.
Overall, it did not meet the expectations I had when I first started watching.
