It was super long about a year ago. Then I deleted ones that were not available in my country or had no subtitles or waited for years to watch but never started. It is now back up again because of the older films I have came across on YouTube and the KBS drama specials. This will help me reduce it again. Thanks for this article!!
And honestly since you have seen the chineese a love so beautiful there is nothing to gain by watching the korean…
I did finally finish this one. I re-watched it months after this post. I think I was thinking too much about the original, which it is something I usually don't do, when watching this one. The female lead stole the show for me though. The male lead did a serviceable job for what he has been given. I think the writing was the downfall.
Honestly stay away from meteor garden and watch boys over flowers i stead I couldn't get passed the 5th episode…
I did finally drop it again after 25 episodes. The acting was still good, but I didn't care for the characters anymore. It think if it was condensed to 16-30 episodes, I think the writing would of been better.
I was so confused in the first few episodes like a genre whiplash. But I was okay with the tone of the drama and…
I went back and re-watched the show because of the rave about it. I did finish it. I was always confused on what it wanted to be, but episode 4 on was so much better because the tone and story came together better than the first 3 episodes.
Parasite was good with fantastic cast and a great story line and social commentary, but I did not love it as much as others though. I did give it a 9/10.
They do have very interesting story lines. These are my movies that I have watched that I rated 9.5 to 10/10 at the time watching these. Rom-com movies didn't gravitate toward me as much as melo or based on true stories when it comes to movies. . Usually a 9.5-10 makes me feel all types of emotions during my watch. You are more than welcome to check my full list that i rated 9 or below to check what I have watched. Hope that helps.
Burning. At first i was very confused on where it was going but as i watched the whole movie everything pieced…
I have just finished the movie. I was the same as you, feeling confused with the movie. I didn't like the movie as much as others might have. I might look for a review for this movie to understand it better. I just didn't like the characters or care for any of them. The ending did have me in disbelief and shook my head. But the acting was great and I can see why people love this movie though.
I couldn't get past the 3rd episode. I was so confused about the changes in the story . I have watched most of…
I think the male lead had won an award for this drama I believe you can check on that. When I did watch the confrontation between the male and female lead in the 3rd episode (?) it was too intense for me (in my opinion) even when it was actually part of the orginal story. The acting was quite good in that scene. But Hana Yori Dango (Japanese version) would always be my favorite.
The first 3 episodes of Vincenzo were really bad, so after the first episode i dropped it, too. But after the…
I was so confused in the first few episodes like a genre whiplash. But I was okay with the tone of the drama and having Song Joong Ki's fish-out-of-water antics were funny. I watched up to episode 10 and wanted watch other dramas instead. I put it up to finish the drama up as well.
Honestly stay away from meteor garden and watch boys over flowers i stead I couldn't get passed the 5th episode…
I couldn't get past the 3rd episode. I was so confused about the changes in the story . I have watched most of the adaption because Boys Over Flowers was my first K Drama because I was into the manga back in the day. I usually give each adaption of my favorite stories a change for a second. But I have heard the acting was pretty good in this version.
And honestly since you have seen the chineese a love so beautiful there is nothing to gain by watching the korean…
I have gone through most of the episodes because of the female lead was in Love in the City last year ( or was it this year??) and I was enjoying her in it. But after a while I was not caring as much about any of the characters as I should of ( since I liked most of the characters in the Chinese version). I actually like the male lead down the line during my watch. But that was my opinion. I put it on the list to just finish the rest of the episodes.
It is sad throughout the show. The male lead does die, but before the show's end because the Kim Jung Hyun was going through a lot during the show's run. But it is one of those show you might never be ready for and you will have your heart broken a lot during the show. It was such a hard watch for me at the time because there was so much raw emotions from the Kim Jung Hyun and the female lead (I can't quite remember on the top of my head of her name). I say continue you watching it in chunks then watch Mr. Queen or Crash landing on you or some funny clips in between. I watched episodes back to back till it got to where we were when it was currently airing. I was emotionally drained. The character development from the male lead was so worth to watch alone even if it was super depressing. Hopefully it answers your question.
I loved all of your choices and makes sense for the recently and the drama chosen for each song are great too. I am looking forward to part 2 !! ?? Here are some suggestions I thought of (hope you like them):
Heaven by Aliee (sad, but uplifting) used when they get better after a love one passes or a reminiscing song. Lie by Jimin (BTS) a song used for when a character is caught in a lie. Dionysus by BTS (a bop!!) can be used for a badass fight scene Shadow by Suga (BTS) used in suspense, crime dramas This is War by MBLAQ (an oldie by goodie) can be used in a revenge drama or a scene when a love triangle is on screen.
Boys over flowers was got me into K-dramas in the first place because I had watched the anime and read the manga at the time (2009). I have tried watching Meteor Garden (2001 version) and have not finished it. Then I have watched Hana Yori Dango 1-2. Then I tried Meteor Shower (China 2012??), but couldn't get past the 2nd episode. Then I couldn't finish the Mentor Garden 2018.
My favorite adaption was Hana Yori Dango. Even when I watched the Korean version the first time, it was a hot mess!!! I only liked the second lead couple (even when shown so little)!
I would like to see all of the Boys over flower adaptions and the all of the Itazura na kiss adaptions and compare the ratings to each other. If possible (or the most popular ones...).

Where did you watch this movie? I really want to see it!
This this the first family drama in a while where I am invested in all of the characters and love lines. Lee Yuri is doing an amazing job! I haven't watched a lot of Lee Joon dramas, but I like him here more(even though he did well in Vampire Detective, but the drama wasn't as good to me for some reason. I might try again maybe). I do have characters I don't like, but for the other lovable characters, this drama is worth your time.
This will help me reduce it again. Thanks for this article!!
I voted for Sky Castle.
Dropped: The Greatest Love and Secret Garden (even though they are both classic).
Heaven by Aliee (sad, but uplifting) used when they get better after a love one passes or a reminiscing song.
Lie by Jimin (BTS) a song used for when a character is caught in a lie.
Dionysus by BTS (a bop!!) can be used for a badass fight scene
Shadow by Suga (BTS) used in suspense, crime dramas
This is War by MBLAQ (an oldie by goodie) can be used in a revenge drama or a scene when a love triangle is on screen.
