Tbh, she always complained all famous / trending dramas with or without trending actors.. this is her tactic to…
Unfortunately she's seems super influenced by weibo opinions and in every review about a trending drama she'll bring up some unhinged point that no casual watcher would ever think was important enough to criticize.
I was hoping they'd just "accidentally" upload the whole thing for a day like some other dangais have done in recent years, and just let it soft power its way to popularity through private sharing. But with the license expiration hopefully it can be sold to an international platform???

Yep it's a Japanese word meaning "into another world" or something like that, basically the transmigration genre, super popular in web novels and light novels!
Just finished watching today and... I honestly didn't expect to like it so much. I'm a BL/bromance enjoyer who is sceptical about BL/bromance series because I'm very story-focused and the genre tends to sell just being what it is, but this is honestly such a good series. All the doors were intense and mysteries were interesting. I'm sad this got such limited exposure because everyone who worked on this deserve to get recognition, especially the supporting cast who performed well in some really emotional scenes.

Yeah I knew going in that it was going to be a bit wacky because of the source material being basically a male-centric isekai light novel lol, but I feel like this season is increasingly wacky as it goes on (currently ep 12) and thought it was kind of funny how Marvel-like it was because it was also this whole Event every time one of them released and they also liked their quips. JOL's serious writing sometimes gives me the illusion that it's kind of like NIF, and then something implausible happens and I get a bit whiplashed hahaha.
I enjoy this show a lot but it's starting to become like a Marvel movie: too popular to fail, gags starting to get out of hand, has brilliant crowning moments, but it's ultimately best not to take too seriously because if you think about it a lot of it is quite ridiculous. 😆
Gosh Liu Ruogu is so freaking talented, able to play identical twins like completely their own persons, then playing both the about-to-be-deceased AND the mourner in the same scene literally side by side. I hope he gets the exposure he deserves because my goodness this kid's potential is insane.
Personally UN kind of spoiled the other adaptations for me because it set a high standard (my opinion ofc) and…
Imo, the acting in Sha Hai and Reunion are really superb. Sha Hai's Wu Xie is definitely jarring but if you watch more you're see some of the old Tianzhen leak through that borderline villainous exterior hahaha, especially when it's related to Iron Triangle. And Reunion Wu Xie is a fantastic balance of the two, Zhu Yi Long really projects a Wu Xie that carries battle scars but has more or less found himself again, capable of ruthlessness as well as kindness.
If you haven't already, I suggest reading up on what happened between UN and Sha Hai, since that's yet to be covered (also unaired), and I think it'll help with making sense of why Sha Hai Wu Xie is the way he is.

I think if you're interested you should give them another go, especially the higher rated ones like Reunion, TLT2, Sha Hai, some of the do take a bit to get your head into, but if you're into the whole tomb raiding thing you'll like them. Watching the adaptations back to back is kind of weird sometimes because of the different casting and directing and production, but the good part is you can just choose which version you like best. Referring to the DMBJ wiki(s) while you watch also helps you navigate a bit on what is novel-canon and what isn't.
There's also a website that just gives you summaries for each novel if you want a rough idea of what happens and you can fill in the details with whatever medium you want haha.
Just finished it, loved it a lot! Now this is putting me in a dilemma if I should watch other adaptations, go…
Personally UN kind of spoiled the other adaptations for me because it set a high standard (my opinion ofc) and I had to unlearn the expectations, but I think they're worth watching as long as you take them as their own production. There are definitely good and bad ones though, and I think if you gave them all a fair chance you'll be able to decide which ones are which for yourself hahaha. Overall UN really stands out to me as having the most focus on Iron Triangle where you get to see all 3 of them almost all the time.
In what ep does Baijie first appear (or get mentioned)? I feel like I skipped something because they keep talking about her but I have no recollection of her at all.
