Cant wait for the next season. Penthouse 4 : War in the Afterlife
It will be a love triangle between suryeon's husband and logan while Min Seol Ah is confused why her stepbrother is in a love triangle with her mom and dad ;)
Unpopular opinion: s3 penthouse was the best season and I loved the ending
- Character growth of the kids: I loved how all the penthouse kids grew so much. I remember watching the first episodes of penthouse feeling so disgusted by the kids and how they treated min seol ah, but now I can't believe I'm saying that I grew to appreciate everyone. A good show is something that can make you love characters that you despised before. Just a few episodes ago, I was yelling at seok kyung, but now I was cheering on her because of how independent and kind she is, and not a pushover. I used to find rona to be dumb because of all the times she misunderstood her mom, but now I was proud of her for being recognized for her talent and hard work. I used to despise minhyuk for not having a backbone or standing up to others, but I'm glad that he went to the military and learned to stand up to his parents and confess to Jenny :P ESPECIALLY, the friendship of Jenny and Ro Na. Imagining how they were sworn enemies before but now they practically can't live without each other. And it's all believable and follows the narrative of the growth and traumas experienced by the kids in the show. - Cheon Seojin's death: I thought I would cry when Suryeon died, or find Dantae's death to be the most impactful, but personally Seojin's death was the most pitiful to me. Never getting to see her daughter again, losing her voice because of laryngeal cancer (karma is a bitch) and just becoming a completely hard shell, empty, lifeless, meaningless to me is the most cruel ending someone can have. Even though suicide seems like an "easy" death for some, I believe she had the worst ending. Imagine being betrayed and abandoned by your own daughter for whom your life revolves around. The poetic ending of seeing her own daughter's throat get slashed just like she slashed Yoon Hee's. I don't think any kind of punishment would have been cruel for Seojin except this ending. Seojin's ultimate fear in life is being abandoned, because growing up in a house where her father expected so much from her and her fear of being abandoned by her father to her stepsibling and stepmom is her ultimate weakness. I always predicted that the end of Seojin would be through her daughter, and I'm so happy that's how it ended. PROPS to kim soyeon for portraying the best villain in the history of kdrama for me, even though a lot of people hate her character, she made this toxic show the most entertaining for me with all the horrible shit she had done. -DILF Daddy Dantae's death was poetic justice - I loved how he died buried in Hera Palace, and also the same way as Min Seol Ah. I loved that Suryeon is the woman who ended up being his demise. Suryeon and Dantae's complex relationship is the core of this show and I couldn't have asked for a better ending for Dantae. -Suryeon's Suicide and Understanding Why Yoon Hee didn'nt return - I KNEW Suryeon was not going to survive the moment she killed Joo Dan Tae. And it was interesting how when we did the flashback to three years ago, the moment that it flashed back to was the exact moment she shot Dan Tae. Even though she was able to fulfill her revenge, she lost a part of herself because of all the deaths and betrayals. Imagine watching your husband, daughter and best friend die right in front of you, she just lost too much, she was completely broken. I'm glad that we didn't go the rom com route where Logan and Suryoen lived happily ever after in life, because the harsh reality is that Suryeon lost so much and blamed herself for everything because she is just a precious person. She was able to remain cool headed the entire time because she was living for her "revenge" but after all that, the only thing that remains is the loss and I couldn't really imagine her recovering from all that realistically speaking. Also glad that Yoon Hee didn't return. All the characters who "died" made GRAVE crimes for or towards their children - Yoon Hee killed Min Seol Ah and betrayed Suryeon, Yoon Chul betrayed Yoon Hee not once but TWICE, covered up the death of his own DAUGHTER. Same with Dan Tae and Seojin who literally abused their kids and killed half the people in the show. -Some over-the-top artistic choices of the last episode is classic Penthouse. The ending scene of Logryeon walking to heaven, Seokkyung seeing a Dantae lookalike. Ma Ri catching a glimpse of Suryeon. LOL that's what I love about penthouse, it has to add these crazy things because sometimes I have to remind myself to not take all this toxic depresing stuff too seriously. -Overall this season gets the best rating out of all seasons. Season one was just too toxic, season two was just boring without Suryeon and the bad guys always winning, but season 3 everyone met their karma eventually while I still enjoyed the over-the-top shit.
Like I mentioned before, I feel that their relationship will be much more deeper than a simple romance or friendship…
I'M SO HERE FOR THIS, but yes I totally agree, and I think that's what's so charming about this drama so far. Hopefully, this will keep setting high standard for itself
100% true. I have never seen one student who could give an instant complete long and totally correct answer to…
Yeah exactly! Its the same way in my medical school. It's hard as is, and when your professor is grilling you like Yangrates, of course it will cause you even more stress, although I can understand that the professor only expects the best from his students and tries to push them.
I find it funny that people think Kang Sol A comes off as a "dumb" character, but she is the most realistic example of a law student, at least one who is not jaded by societal and family expectations. Most law students, med students and those who are in professional schools are that way because professional school is not easy, and her giving dumb answers/ getting stressed out is very relatable to those who are in professional school. Haters can hate her all they want, but she has been the most relatable student, as she is learning and trying to figure out what it takes to be a law student rather than pretending to be a smartass and know-it-all like others.
