In Japanese it makes sense to have AIDA -> IDA after removing the A at the front. I wonder how is it going to…
'Ida' is now 'Kongthap', and Aida is now 'Harp': I believe "Hap" and "Harp" can be spelled the same in Thai, so that's probably what will happen. I'm so hype for this no matter how they handle it!
this show is messy but not ongsa's character. there are definitely teenagers like this who are awkward, have low…
oooo girl, I wasn't trying to say "BS". I always give very honest reviews of what I watch! I just don't feel like it's a good fit for a GMMTV high school romance, and that's okay <3 I LIKE nerdy/shy/anxious people, and I think romances are good with them, I'm saying it's more about the fact this doesn't feel 'romantic' at all to me, the way they're writing these characters. I think super 'realistic' romance isn't really worth watching; I want something cute and sweet, not annoying! <3
I've been asking myself, a bisexual, "would I like this if it was a BL, even with all these issues I have with the plot?"
But honestly, I can't think of any GMMTV BL where I was SO annoyed with the main couples personalities. Ongsa's two minute long pauses before she answers questions, her grating voice (I adore Milk, it's definitely just this specific characters way of speaking), her tendency to lie, etc. Then there's Sun's lack of reading the room, her pressuring Ongsa in multiple occasions, and their general lack of character development for her.
I keep comparing this to My School President, because the characters are the same age group; the amazing communication between Gun and Tinn was the reason that show was so well loved. Yes, they had a few moments where they kept things from each other or had a misunderstanding, but they always made sure to clear it up and it always strengthened their relationship more in the end.
In comparison, this feels like the writers had no idea how to write teenagers in love for a romance drama. And if anything, usually girls have even better communication than boys; where on earth is that in this show? We literally know nothing about Sun, because Ongsa hasn't asked. I'm super frustrated by this first attempt at a GMMTV GL. (Love MilkLove though, nothing against them at all.)
I'm really happy gmmtv is starting to produce GL's, and I'm trying really hard to be supportive, but literally who wrote this script? is it AI generated? ð
I feel the same way, for a long time it was only Ongsa, but Sun is also just super unrelatable to me now. At least they can be unlikeable together. ð
Sammme, I rewatched Never Let Me Go this week and it hit me HOW GOOD their chemistry is, it's literally like something out of a coming of age indie movie.
