Justice for Lu Buping. Poor guy just can’t catch a break😂 Episode 7 teaser is so funny already. Love the reference to xianxia dramas.

16 episodes in and I’m giving this drama everything I have.

I wasn’t really sold in the first two eps but this drama keeps getting better and better with every episode. Not in the least bit prepared for the whiplash of eps 13 onwards but wow I am seated. The chemistry is FIRE and I need more of them.

I knew it was gonna be good after reading reviews , but it was better than I expected! There are too many good…
I highly recommend A Year Without a Job. Only problem with this drama is that it was never subbed properly which might factor in the lower rating it has here. Once you get used to the machine translation, the drama is actually super good and very relatable. Jackie Li was superb in that drama. It’s more slice of life but it’s a really heartwarming drama while still being very realistic.

Title A Year without a Job Spoiler
Done watching this drama and I loved it! I love how real the characters felt in this drama no matter how frustrating…
I wish there was a scene of Xiaowu finally plucking up the courage to confess especially now that they have gotten back their money and Dayu has broken up with Song Zelin for good. Just that one scene would’ve made the ending so so so much better. Although given where the characters are at the end, it’s bound to happen eventually. I’m 100% sure Dayu and Xiaowu will be endgame even if they didn’t specify it.

Done watching this drama and I loved it! I love how real the characters felt in this drama no matter how frustrating some might have been. It’ actually made them feel even more realistic. These are people we encounter on our day to day lives.

Jackie Li is such a great actress and I almost skipped this drama because the poster didn’t really work for me + I wasn’t sure if I was willing to sit through hours of auto translated subs. Glad I changed my mind and finally gave this beautiful gem a go.

The chemistry between Dayu and Xiaowu was so good. My heart rooted so hard for Xiaowu throughout. This drama is mutual pining at its finest.

I love how the characters here are just people with different mindsets. Ideals often clash with others and that’s life.

More than 8 episodes in and this drama is actually really good? The poster used here on MDL is underselling this drama so much plus the auto-generated subs really takes a lot of patience but it’s still really worth watching. I wasn’t expecting much but wow, I’m having a lot of fun.

The characters are very relatable and the leads are likable without making them flawless. They still make mistakes and learn along the way. The romance between the FL and ML is very subtle but so heart fluttering.

Will this ever air?
Yes. Tencent released a promo poster just a couple of weeks ago. No specific schedule yet but they already have a distribution license.

THIS IS A GEM!!i've never seen any great drama with the same time travel concept that still remains interesting…
So true! Each loop brings very different scenarios so it never felt tedious to watch. I really felt like I was playing a game like Life is Strange or Detroit where one little action could have so much consequence.

10/10!!! The story brings you straight into the crux of the story so I was hooked immediately. This drama is like playing a game where each attempt gives you further clues to improve the next loop.

I love how the characters felt realistic especially the leads. They were smart but not over the top smart with things going way too smoothly for them, but also not dumb that they could not piece together clues already presented to their faces. I also appreciate that there weren’t forced romantic moments when they aren’t needed.

Every single actor acted amazingly well. I love that there are no unnecessary subplots, no stupid love triangles. I love that this drama showed the motives behind the characters’ actions that allow you to understand them without defending the wrongdoings.

Me, finally watching this drama: yesss! it's fun! fights are great! cgi is ok! humor is good!On episode 2: please,…
Oh brace yourself it will stay like that for the first 10 episodes. But it just eventually makes sense and you’ll actually find yourself rooting for a lot of these characters.

Title The Blood of Youth Spoiler
One thing I’m so heartbroken about is when the four guardians finally gather together to defend Xiao Se and…
Yeah that was another one of the most hype-inducing episodes for me, especially for Qianluo and Tang Lian (T__T).

This episode put into perspective how powerful Qianluo actually is. I loved it.

I finished everything and it’s a 10/10 for me! Love all the characters including the antagonists. I love how the characters aren’t simply two-dimensional and even the villains are very interesting.

The production value of this drama is very impressive, from the costumes, props, down to the CGI. The fight scenes and how it was acted out felt super real and immersive despite the concept sounding ridiculous on paper. I really felt like I was legit watching a shonen anime (which probably should be a given since it literally says 少年 in the title lol).

Not really sold on how Xiao Se fell for Qianluo, I wish they gave it a more proper development than just Qianluo always running after Xiao Se and then bam he now also likes her. But it’s a very minor subplot so it doesn’t really matter on a grander scale.

I like that the ending didn’t feel rushed and the special ending tied everything up perfectly in a way that it could be the final ending for this series or it could also be a door for a possible follow up season.

Will definitely be rewatching this gem!

One thing I’m so heartbroken about is when the four guardians finally gather together to defend Xiao Se and it was so badass BUT TANG LIAN IS NOT THERE AND UGH…. *slides down the wall in tears*

Only 1 episode left🤧

To those complaining that the last arc is focused on Tianqi and the royal politics, isn’t that the point of the whole series? The story begins from Xiao Chuhe’s banishment from Tianqi. Everything is a build up to Xiao Se’s return to the imperial city. He is the core character that connects everyone else in the story. If you’re not rooting for Xiao Se as the ultimate main character of this drama, then I guess it would indeed be harder for you to enjoy this show.

Based on the comments here I honestly thought I’d be bored with the final arc but I was actually hyped throughout. I’ve long awaited the whole drama for Xiao Se to have an actual proper fight scene and I was extremely satisfied.

For the most part I think Li Hong Yi is perfect for the role of Xiao Se. Visually, he naturally exudes a majestic aura combined with his spot on acting in the cold / deep thinking / snarky parts. However, there are certain scenes that required more fierceness / heaviness from him which I found lacking at some points.

I agree that the lack of Wu Xin in the whole drama is indeed disappointing. I guess if the episodes weren’t limited to 40, there would’ve been more time to explore his character. Plus his character is way too OP, everything would be way easier for the other lead characters with him around. That said, my fave thing in this drama is the chemistry of the main trio so it’s really sad we didn’t get enough of it. Wishing really hard for a season 2!

Youku app SUCKS. I HATE IT. IT’S THE WORST. Why are viewers from certain regions forced to deal with their shitty app. Maybe don’t block the youtube access when your app is still incomplete? The sub font size on ipad is SO TINY. I watch this drama with my mom and we’re watching pretty much the same episode at the same time on separate devices. How stupid is that. Can’t even watch this drama on tv without turning to 🏴‍☠️.

This drama is so hilarious. I breezed through the first 13 episodes in one night (and this is me, replaying the very funny bits a couple of times). Normally it takes me at least 10 episodes to get hooked on a c-drama, but this one caught my heart, body, and soul in one episode. The FL is so funny and badass. I love her friendship with her maid. She has chemistry with everyone in the show. ML starts as cold and serious but he gets dorkier episode by episode lol. Even the second leads are so adorable. Normally second leads, especially female second leads are written to be unbearable and annoying and flat. But the 2nd FL here is so cute! She's like a bunny.

Anyone who wants historical accuracy in this drama is looking at the wrong place. There are talks of plastic surgery and the astronomy guy even plays the modern drums at one point. It's just a lighthearted, adorable, utterly hysterical drama. It's never meant to be taken seriously.
