Before I watched this film, I always had the image of Dongyu being the obedient, filial kid and Sandra being the rebellious one (because of her role in Left Ear) but it was completely reversed in this film! They both portrayed their characters so well, I was super impressed by the versatility of the actresses! At first, the film was a little confusing but it all clicked in the end. So many subtle hints dropped throughout.. Even though An Sheng was typically known as the bad kid, secretly she wanted to stay at one place where she can call home. And even though Qi Yue was the good model student who had a bright future ahead of her, she secretly wanted to travel aimlessly around the world and be as carefree as An Sheng. They were the polar opposites of each other yet they understood each other so well. This film depicted their strong bond of friendship and sisterhood. Moved me to tears at certain parts!
Watched up to ep8, waiting for more eps in February. Nothing particularly compelling, I'm just watching to kill time since each ep is ~20mins. Worth a try!
another version of the "Peach Blossom" going around..
Maybe for promotion purposes? It's like with Love O2O/A Smile is Beautiful/One Smile is Alluring, the movie came out in the summer followed by the drama version haha
I think if this drama was aired promptly in 2014, I would've been able to tolerate all the cliché tropes but alas. The storyline is fairly dated. I skip most parts just to watch scenes with the main couple haha~ I probably would've dropped this drama if it wasn't for Zhou Dongyu, she's so pretty!! One of my favourite Chinese actresses~
