Interesting because it felt like I was watching a musical, lol? Also felt like the main leads didn't share as many scenes together as I would've liked but the ending was still sweet - overall enjoyment of the film was good!
I really didn’t expect them to use Mayday as their ost! They’re my favourite band so it was a pleasant surprise, and this movie was an easy and light hearted watch. Bonus points for the monologue at the end! Reminds me of A Love So Beautiful or Put Your Head on my Shoulder typical endings with the male lead’s monologue!
An entertaining drama that kept me occupied for the past few days. There’s a lot of cute lovey dovey romantic scenes AND plentiful kiss scenes to keep viewers like me veryyy satisfied, hehe. Also, the male lead is so incredibly handsome in every angle, omg! I genuinely think he must be one of the best looking Chinese rising actors out there, he just looks too unreal! Too bad I can only find very little information about him, even the Chinese website aren’t very accurate or informative ):
the angsty tension and misunderstanding between the two had me on the edge of my seat for the whole of ep12 omg, not good for my heart ))): please just get together and be a lovey dovey goofy couple already!! + GWI’s unconventional nerdy ways to confess is adorable though, I don’t blame STM for being dense LOL.
An enjoyable series with a really satisfying ending! Haven’t completed a full Chinese drama series in awhile so I was glad to have picked this up! You can watch all the episodes (no eng subs, only Chinese) on MapleStage :))
I couldn't even sit through the first episode of this... There was way too much yelling and hitting of each other.…
I thought that too at first but realistically, back in those years especially in Korea, physical punishment was still allowed in schools so those kind of harsh slapping weren’t typically uncommon. It’s just a form of strict discipline for Asians. Keep in mind that the Korean hierarchy and respect is strictly top priority so elders felt entitled/had the rights to discipline the youngers. Korea as a country is quite intimately aggressive between family and friends so it’s normalised because rather than plain abuse, it shows a close/intimate relationship. Don’t think too deep about it.
I was rooting for Kobayashi because I thought them two would make a cute foodie partner but now that Shungo is back, I don’t know anymore because he’s so sweet ahhhh and they’re both so good looking! T T
learn asian college culture then you will understand.
because this drama tries to portray the darker reality of unspoken “consequences” about plastic surgery that the media does not cover about. the whole point is to show that plastic surgery does not necessarily lead to a glamorous happy ending where life suddenly becomes better. it’s already rare to have a drama of this genre, so i think it’s insightful to see the possible harsh reality in a college setting. particularly in an east asian society where korea is still very judgmental based on looks and outer appearances in addition to the constant heavy emphasis on the hierarchical importance, worst case bullying scenarios like this isn’t exaggerated or absurd. it happens more often than you think. trying to gloss over these controversial issues (and pretending it doesn’t exist for the sake of making it friendly for future generations) would defeat the entire purpose of this drama and it’s meaning
