Title With You Spoiler
I was looking back at this drama because I watched it a long time ago before the eng subs came out - I wonder why I gave it a 7.5/10 (which is considered average in my books) even though I vividly remember adoring this precious drama so much? I even rewatched it twice, once on my own to indulge in the wave of nostalgia and another time when I was recommending it to my cousin - that’s how much I loved this series! But I guess I was so upset and saddened by the ending that it dramatically knocked of the score for me, but now that I objectively reevaluate the enjoyment of this series, I think I would give it a 8.5/10 (because I’m still incredibly bitter about the undeserving ending every time I think about it but it’s worth the tears haha)

The comments seem 50/50 about the drama plot (mostly about how slow it is) and comparing how well it’s following the original manhwa (new characters and what not), etc. but for someone who has read the whole manhwa, I think they’re doing a pretty good job! I think the main leads seem a bit more stoic/emotionless in terms of acting skills, but they portray their characters’ intended personalities well so I’m not complaining too much. I haven’t followed a drama so closely in awhile! I look forward to every Friday/Saturday to watch the new episodes hehehe~

Title Us and Them Spoiler
A film that crushes your ideals of a sweet, loving romance. Instead, it was replaced with the cold reality that a happily ever after is not always possible despite the love being mutual. I cried a lot in this film and the reason why I'm typing a lot is because I'm trying to convince myself that this ending is realistic, and that I should stop sobbing over the cruelty of their fate. When two people truly love each other, then why can't they just be together and grow old together? Because they either had to give up their own dreams, or to give up each other. JQ chased XX at the train station but didn't have the courage to reach out to her because he knew that he couldn't fulfil her perfect idea of a loving, stable family. XX let him go because she thought that she was weighing down on his dreams. In the first place, they had different dreams but managed to change each other until their dreams were to just simply be happy together. JQ didn't understand this because he thought that XX was only after the sense of financial security. The main characters clearly loved each other, but they were still destined to be apart. The pair shared their happy memories, but it was also filled with hardship. They knew each other too well that they ended up hurting themselves. The film had a lot of sentimental and iconic quotes such as, "Us in the future had everything...except 'us'." Another personal favourite dialogue is when XX said, "I missed you" but in the literal translation that she "missed out" on having an happy ending with him because fate is cruel and unforgiving. The letter to XX from JQ's father was a nice touch because it soothed my aching heart. Overall, the ending gave everyone a sense of closure when the current timeflow refilled itself with vibrant colours, signifying that they need to move on from the past.

Title Youth Spoiler
One of the greatest dramas I've seen in a long while, or perhaps I'm being biased because I'm a total sucker for these chinese youth romance dramas (my fave genres), especially if it carries through to their adulthood. It wasn't coated in romance from start to end but it was really heartwarming to witness their character developments through the years, I just wished they could've fleshed out more of their university life because it only had an episode dedicated to it. The progression of their interaction also made my heart melt into a puddle. It's a shame they never went through an official girlfriend/boyfriend stage but the whole point of the slow chasing was really cute, innocent and pure. Also a little disappointed he didn't pull off an emotional proposal but the confession at the end made it completely worth it. I literally finished this entire series within a day amidst exam season but I have no regrets! Wholesome, heartwarming, cute and refreshing!

super looking forward to this main pairing! joy's recent girl crush/sexy/femme fatale stage concepts are so alluring and captivating so I can't waittttt for her new drama project! while i've read up on the original story's plotline and other adaptions, etc. i can't imagine how this drama can be tagged as mature? surely it would be really risky for joy to take on this genre since she's an idol, no? but i doubt she would've accepted the role in the first place if it was going to be damaging for her idol image. i'm not sure how they will tastefully execute the genre without making it awkwardly pure/innocent/clean despite the synopsis loool.

Seriously, the only thing good about this series is rongzhi and the costumes, everything else is utterly pointless.…
I agree but on the flip side, there's 52 episodes, I'm sure that'll be enough to fit in some lovey dovey scenes ^^~

Is this a kind of remake or is it a completely different story all-together? How are the two related?
It's a completely different story with different characters. I think the only relation is the school, the setting and teachers, etc.

Even Le Yi realises that Rong Zhi is purposely hiding his true feelings for Chu Yu! He's always acting cold towards her but we all know he secretly has a weak spot for her, he's just in denial or masking it in order to protect her, heh~ it's also a huge relief to know the fact that Rong Zhi was aware of his concubine's snakey deeds against Chu Yu this entire time but he can only play along with it because he had no choice.. it looks like he'll finally unveil her true evil character in the next episode hohoho expose dat snaaaake

Did rong zui really lost his memory?
If it's true that he somehow didn't actually lose his memories (which I doubt), I'm sort of dreading how they would execute the climactic reveal of "oh lol i didn't actually lose my memories, it was all part of the plan #finessed" because it's already obvious to the audience that he and his concubine had a serious relationship (to a degree) before Chu Yu entered the picture (which would completely undermine his undying loyalty towards her, which was the biggest selling point of the original novel, if that makes sense..). Ahhh, idk what to believe lolol T T"

Title Untouchable Lovers Spoiler
Honestly not a fan of how this adaption is deviating from the original novel; I wanted to watch the romantic scenes where Rong Zhi demonstrates his unfaltering love and loyalty to Chu Yu but with the whole amnesia/memory loss plot, it's hard to watch them act coldly towards each other T T and they're throwing in these extra cunning female rivals, making it even more frustrating to watch them scheme against Chu Yu..
