Finally there is a modern short cdrama that is not involved in FL goes into manhwa & takes on the supporting role & need to change the story flow or else she will be in the manhwa forever.
This short cdrama is quite refreshing & the story is rather interesting. It's fast-paced, goes straight to the point without dragging it. Only thing is the FL role over here has a very thick face but I can't blame her for that as she is trying to prove the guy that she has met was her departed fiancé.
The story will unfold how both ML & FL met then separated then again met up so it was rather interesting for me. Something very unique which not just involved with cheesy or sweet romance between ML & FL but how both went thru a relationship & re-discovery their relationship.
If you ask me if it's worth watching then I will said go & watch it with an open mind. Since it's a short cdrama hence one may binge watching it as watching a Chinese movie.

Well written & explained. You're right indeed. The whole story over here is to show that the FL was given a second chance life & how hard & smart she tried to change her fate & destiny. Along the way she also discovered that all the while it was Mu Chuan (MC) who has done many good things for her which has gone un-noticed & how ruthless & cold-blooded Mu Ze (MZ) in manipulating her feelings towards him.
The 1st 3 episodes we get to watch how the FL-Lu Anran (LAR) fells head over heels for MZ but she was not aware how scheming MZ was in using her power to control the 36 ports which monopolized the water transportation in the city as well as getting her to built a war ship. It's only thru her 2nd chance life was LAR aware MZ tried to win over her heart but this time it failed to impress her. Given 2nd chance life LAR was trying to fight against her fate & destiny to change MZ evil plans of becoming an Emperor then slaughtering more innocent people. Unfortunately few people still needs to die.
There is one episode which shown LAR trying to follow her half-sister to the mountain & un-expected she met a shaman. The shaman did advise LAR that no matter how she wants to change the river water from flowing it's direction, she can't stop it from flowing as the river water will continue to flow only thing is the direction of flowing will change. So this explained the later part of the story.
MZ is trying to gain the Emperor attention as well as fighting very hard to become the Crown Prince yet he wanted LAR to be by his side. Then MC on the other hand was forced to enter into palace/court affairs due to saving LAR from being beheaded. As LAR she always tried to be ahead of MZ plans which makes MZ furious yet curious about LAR. Even MZ said that LAR has given him the déjà vu feelings which he finds it hard to explain.
This whole cdrama is not really a romance or super sweet romance but more on the heavy side and one needs to think & feels sorry for LAR at the beginning (1st life) & MZ at the ending (2nd chance life).
I also agreed that Jing Chao nailed his role as MZ so well that made me feel hate yet sorry for his MZ role. His acting is far better than the ML & FL. To be able to act as a scumbag is not that easy yet a scheming yet good looking King Qing fitted him so well.
Even though this cdrama do not get much promotion or attention but it's worth watching for me.

This is another short length cdrama which is easy, simple & direct to the point story. I wonder why nowadays cdrama ML their face.....doesn't look natural to me. I feel the ML face over here is more suitable to be a model than actor. If you like half demon & half human & fairy type of story then I would recommend you to watch it.

Lately I noticed most short cdramas has the most interesting story, high CP & fast paced. I did not expect this Ru Hua Ru Tu (Season 1 & 2) to be that good. Great job! Looking forward to the last 2 episodes to be aired soon.

I prefer this S2 'coz most of the participants I grew up listening to their songs or watching on their dramas/movies. E.g. Alex Toh Tak Wai, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Derek Wan Siu Lun, Vanesse Wu, Wilber Pang, Richie Ren, Jordan Chan, Su You Peng and on the younger side it's Ron Ng, Raymond Lam, Wang Ta Lu, Mike Angelo & few cdramas actors like Johnny Zhang, Leong Zhang, Alan Feng, Jin Han and etc......

Tbh I am not a fans of republican era cdramas but this one atm is rather good.
Why?
The story is fast paced, interesting storyline, short air-time per/episode which is not too boring or draggy, both ML are rather good looking & I like the costume over here. It looks simple yet elegant. Last & not least the chemistry between the ML & FL is really hot too.....the ML trying to protect the FL in his manner which caused the FL to misunderstand his good intentions.
I have a strong feeling the whole Dong's family except the FL & her half sister whom managed to escape from being killed & the master mind behind this manslaughter is no other than the 2nd ML - Fang Yu Ze.
This is based on my experience of watching countless of cdramas & my best guess ......let's see later if what I have expected turn out to be truth......lol

Not bad for a short 4 to 5 mins per/episode cdrama. I quite enjoy it at least the story went straight to the point & not wasting time making 1 big turning just to reach to a point. You may binge watching it as for me it is quite light & easy to digest cdrama. The whole story is very simple. Husband doesn't know how to appreciate his wife till his wife left him then only he started to realize it. Another person you should look out is the little cute girl who will appeared 2nd half of this cdrama. For the ML role is hard me to be angry with him as he is quite good looking & charming (also 2nd half of this cdrama)......lol

This is another time-travelling cdrama which focus on the FL - Li SaSa who is an expert in playing pipa was being transported to another role as Li Runiang during Sheng Dynasty in ancient China whom she is supposed to find out on the fire incident that killed quite a number of musicians as well as searching & marrying his lover. In the midst of investigating she met with ML - Lu Jing Nian as both started to bickering & teasing each other & eventually fall in love.
This cdrama is quite interesting but the story is a bit slow pace. As usual FL cannot stay forever in her time-travelling period as she will be transported to her current period......as for the ending if it's happy or sad......watch it to find out for yourself.

I have read a lot of comments regarding the FL mother who belittled FL in front of many people especially those princesses & princes. This is an ancient cdrama story so we need to understand the culture for lady/woman role at that period of time. It's very different from modern society where lady/woman has more freedom to voice out & make their own decisions.
At period of time marriage are normally being arranged by their parents either when they are babies or due to alliances within families or states affairs. From here we can see that lady/woman does not much say in their own marriage even though she is a princess yet she needs to obey the Emperor edict of arranged marriage to another states prince/king or well known family which matches with the princess status.
Hence over here the FL mother is trying to protect the FL from falling into a dangerous pit where FL needs to face more family complications in the future as Gen. Ling is a well known General whom most ladies or princesses wishes to get as a husband. Moreover what the FL mother mentioned about FL are the facts. Only thing is the FL mother should rephrase her sentences & show some respect towards her daughter feelings. I guess FL mother too regretted what she has spoken when FL tells off her mother that it hurts her pride & dignity when her own mother speaks badly about her daughter infront of so many people which also reflected that she is not a good mother as she failed to educate her daughter accordingly.
As for the FL - CSS, I think her decision to accept the ML proposal was a good one considering that she has breakoff her engagement with Lou You due to righteous actions. But many people started to gossip & talk badly about FL. I also think it's not easy for FL to be able to get engage in the future as those time people will judge a lady on her behaviour, attitude & mostly chastity. So for ML to openly seeking for the Emperor permission to get the hand of marriage from FL which has proven that the ML is deeply in love with FL. FL has also asked the ML that she will not listen to ML instruction & may cause trouble to him in future & will ML still wanted to marry her yet the ML replied that he is willing to do so......Do bear in mind at that time if one goes against Emperor order it may caused the whole family or his/her householders including their maid/servants to be beheaded.
Imagine if you are the FL - CSS how will you feel? The whole family life is in her hand so she has to make the right decision at that moment. Do you choose to stick with your parents or get married to Gen. Ling? Sticking with her parents is good but how long can her parents protect her? Lifetime? Then imagine how FL going to deal with her greedy grandmother & strict mother...... if she gets married to Gen. Ling at least she has a 50/50 chance to start anew. So it like a gamble either she wins or lost. If you are the FL which choice will you choose?

I do agreed with you that Lou Yao is a nice & obedient guy. Personally I feel he is not the right match for the FL as FL has a very strong characters which I don't think Lou Yao could keep up with her pace.
FL needs a guy who is equally strong in character like ML - Gen. Ling. I feel that Gen. Ling is able to protect & take good care of FL. From episode 1 till 14 - I can see that ML always appears when FL is in danger & he also stood up indirectly defending for FL when FL was being accused of starting a fight with the princess & her cronies.
As for Yuen Shen, his role still developing as he also fall for FL at the 1st sight but he did mentioned that he will not give up on FL even FL trying to avoid him. Lol......

So far completed episode 14, my comment will be this cdrama at the moment is worth watching but one needs to have patience to watch it as it starts off a bit slow pace and not much interaction between the ML & FL. If you expect to watch highly sugar skinship/kissing scenes then you may skip this cdrama as over here their interaction is based on facial gesture & body language to show their affection to the other party. Story started to get interesting at episode 10 onwards.
What I can comment is both Zhao Lusi & Leo Wu managed to nail their role very well. ZLS managed to brings up her role as a smart, stubborn & never follow the rules of the ladylike during that era. As Leo Wu managed to bring up the Gen. Ling role of coolness, ambitious & fierce general. I like both on the screen chemistry. Tbh I find Leo Wu acts better than Yang Yang when it comes to facial expression & body language......no hard feelings towards Yang Yang fans out there. Both actors are equally good looking but Leo Wu has grown up from a boy to a man now & his acting skills never fail me from Nirvana On Fire to Love Like the Galaxy. Even Leo Wu's on the screen chemistry with ZLS is far better than Yang Yang with ZLS in Who Rules The World.
The other supporting roles are equally good too especially the FL grandmother role who is so annoying & greedy. Same goes to FL mother role who tried her best to educate FL but always ends up hurting each other. She always compliment her niece Cheng Yang & belittle her daughter - SS & never stood up to defend SS that makes me feel sad 'coz I feel as a mother she should show more care, concern & affection towards her own daughter since she does not raise her up so the more she needs to pay more attention towards her. Perhaps the method she does it was not that right as she herself was also a soldier. On the other hand FL father & 3rd uncle was being kinder towards FL.
Since it's still an ongoing cdrama with Part 1 & 2 let's hope this drama managed to maintain it's momentum & will not get boring & draggy halfway or adding unnecessary scenes or focus more on supporting roles compared to the main role. Once this cdrama has completed will give a full write up on it (provided if I have the time & mood!) Lol.......

I've read from one article posted online stating if this cdrama sticks to the original novel version then the FL - SS has 3 suitors proposing to her. 1st is Lou You, 2nd Gen. Ling & 3rd. Yuan Shen. She breaks off with Lou You due to righteous issues then Gen Ling came into the pic but he left her on their wedding eve 'coz he wants to take revenge that how the 3rd suitor - Yuan Shen enters into SS life & proposed to her but in the end both Gen. Ling & Yuan Shen fought to win SS heart & the rest you can conclude it......
As for the drama version, it may deviate from the novel version as it may have some changes to the storyline. Let's hope they keep to the storyline as close as possible to the novel version.
What I find that is interesting in this story is the interaction between the SS & Gen. Ling role. The episode which Gen. Ling suffered so much pain while SS trying to pull out the arrowhead from his chest & the eye contact which Gen. Ling gave SS was so mesmerizing to me as it shows that no need to have close skinship like kissing to show affection to the other party unfortunately SS was not aware or doesn't know that Gen. Ling was in love with her......sigh! Then Gen. Ling secretly helping & protecting SS whom SS was also not aware. I am curious how & when SS gets to know that all this while it was Gen. Ling who is her guardian & protecting angel & how she will reacts to him since she is not in favour of a soldier suitor.

What to do? Most people are being brain-washed that slim, thin or extremely thin & petite with "V" shape & small face are considered pretty & beautiful whereas chubby, fat & rounded face are less pretty or beautiful. What they don't see is the actress acting skills. That's also the reason why plastic surgery services are mushrooming like hot cakes.......lol
Anyway I really enjoy & like this cdrama even with the loop holes here & there but I can take it 'coz it's really very entertaining as I laugh most of the time in almost every episodes.

Fully agreed with you. Personally I like this cdrama 'coz it's unique storyline not the same cliché plots. Over here even though when it reached climate it did not lost it's momentum as it's still funny & enjoyable to watch. One set back was the editing if I am not wrong episode 23, I feel like a huge chuck of story was being chopped or censored. Even there are certain episodes the story did not flow accordingly but it was not as obvious as episode 23.

As for the romance or skinship between the leading couple - I quite like it 'coz it's not too cheesy and more logic. Not like lately cdramas most ML always gave surprises big & forceful kisses to the FL.

The OST too was rather cute especially the song which the Queen dances in the palace with the rest of the chamber maids for the purpose of exercising. Lol.

What I like is this time the FL is not someone who is extremely thin, petite & doll looking features. The FL looks more reality to most of us & with her cute & cheerful smile it really melts my heart.

Overall I would recommend watching it not because of Li Hong Yi as the ML but for the whole story & casting too.

The reason for me to watch this cdrama is it has different storyline compared to other cdramas which deals with one common storyline of bossy, young, arrogant ML tricking FL to marry him or to stay by his side. This story involved in ML suffering from split personalities & how FL learned & deals with it. The whole story was quite messy so one needs to have high patience to watch till the end. Overall the main couple acting acting was acceptable both main couple are equally thin but ML is very tall compared to the FL who has to wear at least 6 inches high heels to look taller. The supporting role was again typical kdrama romance of noona & dongsaeng relationship. Watch it as a filler while waiting for long ongoing dramas but don't expect too much from it.

You're right I think at the moment no other artists in China can beat his record of holding the longest live streaming in Weibo. And the best part is he did it quite often perhaps 3 or 4 days apart. The last live streaming he did was 2 or 3 days ago in his hotel room.
He has many things to share with his fans too & following his live streaming is not boring to me even though it's lengthy but Liu Yu Ning knows how to engage with his audiences plus I like the background songs that he aired with the laughter sounds each time he finished his comments. Lol.......

Out of 10 Top Thai dramas actors - 8 of them acted in BL series except Mike Angelo & Push - correct me if I am wrong over here. I think you have left out Win Metawin & Gulf Kanawut as both have millions followers in their IG. I am surprised New was in the Top 10 but not Tay Tawan as I personally like Tay Tawan. I would like to suggest to you to write up a posting of Top 10 BL series couples which will have more Thai actors covered. Example Earth & Mixx, Phuwin & Pond, Ohm Pawat & Nanon, Tul Pakorn & Max, Off & Gun, Singto & Krist, Bright & Win, New & Tay, Mew & Gulf & Mile & Appo Nattawin.....this is what I can think of at the moment. Lol

Oh my you wrote a very detailed about Liu Yu Ning......actually I did not know who is this artist until I downloaded Weibo apps & started to follow him. Then I slowly discovered he does very lengthy live streaming which last for few hours whom most actors don't have such skills to do so. His live streaming was rather informative & funny even though I don't fully understand Mandarin but the way he communicated & the background music that he usually played normally is Korean songs by Chanyeol & Punch - Stay With Me from Goblin OST.
I like the last 2 live streaming that he does which was past midnight discussing on his latest cdrama - Heroes. He did mentioned that acting in wuxia or xianxia cdramas do not required highly acting skills as it comes with 2 packages that is the roles & the whole drama development. If the producer & director managed to cover these 2 areas then this cdrama will sure be a hit. He did admitted that he does not have high qualification or attended any acting schools/university hence his acting is just an average ones. That's what make me attracted to him as he is being modest & honest.
Not just that he is also good looking, can play the piano & guitar, sings & now acting. He deserves to be reckons as an artist not just counting on his good looking but in every field that he managed to nail it.

Oic.....I was not aware that China govt banned real time travelling cdramas. What I noticed was most of cdramas consists of time travelling either stuck up in a scripts, novel, VR games & usually it is the FL who has to die as she normally ended up with a villain role. Then she will have to find ways & means to goes back to her current world/time & by the time she could goes back she was head over heals with the ML & usually the ML have to dies in order for the FL to transport back to her current world/time.
Then another genre which I also finds it very common in modern cdramas is arrogant, rich, young, caliber & so called good looking boss who is the ML whom falls for a simply plain Jane that is the FL. He will tries all ways & methods to tricks her so she will be forever stuck by his side.....lol.
No wonder cdramas like The Blue Whisper, Love & Redemption & Ashes of Loves & The Untamed are so popular 'coz this type of storyline is a bit unique as it do not fall to the same troupe.
I also agreed with you on the under-marketing cdramas with non-popular actors/actresses. I feel they have the acting skills but short of acting luck. Good example is My Dear Brothers which I feel was a bit under-rated in MyDramalist with a scoring of less than 8 stars. Those with high scoring in MyDramalist mostly consisted of popular actors/actresses acting in it. At time I wonder are these viewers based on the artist popularity to give them high votes on their dramas or was the drama really worth that high rating? No hard feeling just my 2 cents thought.

Thanks for the write up on this cdrama. I did not expect it to be that good minus the time travelling plots which always happened in cdramas. This storyline is quite unique & interesting. Airtime is reasonable with few repetitive scenes which is acceptable for me. I am surprise that those actors & actresses involved in this cdrama are not that popular yet their acting are rather good. For a low budget cdramas it is considered entertaining. I would recommend this cdrama to those who has not watch it yet. Only minus side is it's based on time travelling basis or else I would give a higher rating for it. Btw the OST for this cdrama is also good to listening for both opening & closing OST.
P/S: I find the actor who acted as the FL brother Shi Dong is better looking than the ML. Lol.....
