I am to ep 19 and I find this pretty silly. I LOVED Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and saw the similarity and thought it would be fun. I haven't liked the fl from the beginning, she just does't work for me personally. This is such a light take on the story it's hard to take seriously. But when they got to the part where the students decide to join the war, briefly ( haha) AND end up teaching a GENERAL war ideas, it was just too much. I will prob stick to the end for closure, but I can't take anything seriously and the only one I have enjoyed watching is Xie Bin Bin as the fiancee.. He is quite funny , has good comedic timing, and also good intense looks. He's new to me but I will watch for him. Yes, Caesar Wu is gorgeous, but his wig often looks like it pulling around the hairline , it distracts me, and his love affair with Shen Yi Yi is not believable. That's not all his fault however. It's a combo of the writing, directing and actress that makes it fail imo. To me this is lightweight filler entertainment .

The synopsis in here seems completely different from the synopsis I read on Dramabeans??Here's the dramabeans…
atypical love triangle? Sounds like Tae-wan crushes on Jin-sung?

The best 5, historical drama tv series (2015-2019) ;1. story of yanxi palace 20182. the story of ming lan 20183.…
I have avoided Singing all along because in the synopsis it says he gives up his wife to marry the warlords niece for power. I have trouble handling just reading that, haha, is it really heartbreaking in the drama, or handled in a way that won't wrench my heart out and dehydrate me from crying?

I really need a BL with Sang Chen and Bai Hi, haha... I have liked this drama, it's different than many others. The SML saves the girl more than the ML and the FL is pretty smart. I do have to say I liked her character a lot more in the early part of the drama, her character increasingly became more lame, mooning over her lost love , clinging and begging and being more helpless. But still, her character is not half as bad as the standard damsel in distress types. First time watching Toby Lee and he is a pleasure to watch. Altho I get mad at his character a lot haha.. SU Fu's character is written almost equal to the ML imo, at least in the first half of this drama. But he's always been a dead man walking imo. Zhou Jie Qiong honestly doesn't impress me in her lead role, one way or the other.

I am thinking this is a Chinese version of the Korean drama, Sungkyunkwan Scandal.
not a remake, but borrows many, many ideas from it.

On Forget You Remember Love Apr 28, 2020
This is the third version I watched of this story. I had REALLY hoped they would update this version. There is almost no one to like in this story. Ye Qian Yu and her mother and everyone in Guanmei have almost zero scruples. They lie, cheat, steal, kidnap, get handsy with everyone and all their belongings, have the IQ's of rocks, are clumsy and annoying. We are suppose to admire them because they fight for Guanmei Inn? Well, that's their livelyhood, why wouldn't they? Shan Jun Hao is cold and marrying his childhood friend to please his parents but is not in love with her.. not doing her a favor. The supposed humor by the Guanmei employees was so cringy , ridiculous and outdated. I may be the only one that feels that in this version, Yun Yi was not a bad person. The only thing I remember her doing slightly underhanded was ask Ye Qian Yu if she wanted to go work at the hotel instead so she could put distance between her and her own fiancee. I just don't find that so evil.. People want to hate her because she is the rival, but she is a victim imo. She was raised to believe she would marry Jun Hao, groomed her whole life for it. I call that brainwashed. Tai Chu was likable, but come on, he should be under the definition of a Mary Sue character. They never made Qian Yu likable imo, and I have zero idea why either male character fell in love with her. I also think Fair Xing was wrong for the role. I don't dislike her, she just never felt right here.Garvey Jin, very attractive man, but he played his time when he had amnesia like someone who is really mentally challenged. He lost his memory not his intelligence. I do think this ended much more satisfying that the other two, and while they did change the story up some, the kept way too much of the cliche things that were supposed to be funny. So, I have many more complaints, but I'll stop...Because I have watched three versions, I feel it's obvious I like the concept of this story, it just needs work... alot of work.

I just finished this. I don't usually watch 'war' dramas, but I decided to take a look at first ep because of Wallace Huo and all the high ratings in the comments. It def. pulled me in and I was kept there through the whole drama. It is about war, but it's more about family in hard times. It was a good blend of war history story telling, family, and romance. It made me look up things on wiki many times to see what happened. Everyone did a great job, cast, direction, writing..

Congratulations on your success.. I misstepped.. My best friend tried Sungkyunkwan Scandal ( one of my favs) , she's older, she couldn't keep up with the subbing :/ and she kept asking me " Was I supposed to know she was a girl? Did you know she was a girl"? She didn't get past 1/2 first ep..Not really my fault.. Then my daughter tried.. Coffee Prince.. she couldn't get into it and that's my fault, I don't think I should have picked that one to start her. I just loved it and Gong Yoo so much. But upon reflection, the first ep is corny , you need to get into the story to appreciate, and to fall for the ML:) I should have started her on historical maybe, something that wouldn't seem dated or corny for a modern story. They both gave up.

I have noticed one thing that is driving me batty and that is the sound of the footsteps! Sometimes they aren't…
yes, and they even make clunking sounds when they walk on grass. It's hilarious, such bad sound effects

Well , too bad about Muse.. I don't blame them for being offended. Seems there is a better way than shutting down to everyone, but oth, I am not the one doing the work and being offended. I would def. pay at Muse's site, but there is no option to do so. So no judgement.I hope someone picks it up , and if so, please post if they find it.
