I loved the first 1/2 of this drama.. I fell in love with Allen Ren's cranky, but subtle amused facial expressions. I liked the slow burn romance because it wasn't boring.. and the epic save when he rescues her on her fake wedding day.. But that was about the last episode I enjoyed of this drama.. It turned into boring, political, dragging, crying angsty story with the final hea lasting in a few minutes and not very rewarding. imo

they totally changed the synopsis. Now it matches the trailer

also, why would the bad guy pull out his gun to shoot the Captain? He knows he will be shot, it doesn't make sense to me. If he is captured and sent back to NK, it seems he could come up with a story about how he went after the Captain who was defecting or something?

thanks for letting me know. That is a sad way to end that many eps of them being loyal , and then they spend the last years of their life without each other. I did see where he came to her while she was on her deathbed, but it annoyed me still , since I figured she was sort of banished for years because he was mad she killed that woman. oth, he was mad she killed that woman and they were separated until she died, so a deathbed confession of love is still frustrating. ( like you said)

I thought towards the end, he is interested in someone else. The queen kills her and the king is so angry he abandons her.. she dies, he comes to her in her last moments on her deathbed. I had read that this was about a completely monogamous couple, but I skipped to the end to see if they end up staying together and that's what I saw so I never watched this . Plus their sons fought and their daughter left. :/

ah... I hadn't watched it.. that's weird, because it's seems different than a reboot to.

This was a cute drama. I liked both the leads and the humor with her quirky parents was fun.

But it doesn't take away from the fact that she is smart, just because he may be more experienced and maybe smarter.. He is in a higher position than her in his career, and she is still training. But she is very smart. In fact, this drama doesn't belittle her, imo, like so many other dramas. And they can't be equal you are watching a historical drama.

I agree completely.. I got half way through and just felt the author found more importance proving they had a large vocabulary and could fit most of it in each sentence, than writing something for the masses to read. This is on a site made for masses so it's I feel this was an ego exercise rather than a useful review. Just my opinion

I am unclear why so many people are calling this a reboot, since it says in the synopsis they are already married and have a child. So , it's a sequel imo

Altho, I think it's fake kissing :/ . every time they show a closeup , it's of the lips only, like the medicine shots. and the medium shots , like this one with their faces included, his shoulder hides their lips. I guess it's better than nothing...

I considered it a flashback that is in the drama

I like this version a lot. First, her character wasn't a stalking, annoying girl/woman. That drove me nuts about the original story and other versions. Second, his character showed his emotions more, it was obvious he liked her. Third, his mother was a warm, wise sweet woman , who wanted them together, but she wasn't such a caricature like all other versions.While this didn't end in a wedding, sadly, it did include such a sweet asking her father for permission to marry and sweet apology from him to her an engagement ceremony. I like this story, that's why I have watched so many versions, some have stayed with me always, some were terrible, but this one was a different experience that I enjoyed. They had planned to make a sequel but I don't think that will happen sadly.

Sure this had some failings but ultimately I liked it better than the SK version. In the Thai version she didn't seem like such a pushover and his character showed his emotions toward her much more and was less cruel. But the thing that I loved about this version is how the ending came about. It made so much more sense and was so much sweeter than the SK version.

This looks good, altho.... er... in those previews it looks like he might die and then he appears to her in the forest. Geez I hope I am wrong.. I try not to watch things where someone is dead or dying...too sad for me
