Have you seen Love Destiny? It's a longer, historical drama. I watched it recently and really enjoyed it. Btw, I don' t like too much angst or sad endings. The MC have great chemistry.

yes, and that was good, but I never really understood why he thought that would bring out the bad guy... it was a weird plot device I think.

This looks like a fun , like a different take off of Sungkyunkwan Scandal.. I hope it has a happy ending like SS did.. seems possible with this synopsis, but I never trust Chinese historical romances for happy endings. :)

I don't feel Janice Wu has the acting chops , she's cute and sweet, but not deep imo...not on the same level as Kim Go-eun at all. Just my opinion. Perhaps Dongyu Zhou for the role?

I read somewhere that the chinese dramas are hard subbed because of different..languages? But Hanzi, the chinese characters are known nationally? I may have that wrong..

I think that is a low rating for this drama.. I am on episode 8 and it has been sweet and funny and had some nice unique moments. I have to say that Bruce Hung is knocking it out of the park. He is so attractive and funny at the same time. He has mad skills to be drop dead gorgeous and commanding with dimples or goofy with great body comedy and a glint in his eye. He is making it for me honestly, altho I do like every character . The second male lead is awesome and I like him in everything he does. I hope he gets the girl sometime, just not this time:)

I agree completely, that's why this is so refreshing. So many times it's so over the top how girls throw themselves at the main male lead. She acted like herself around him *because* she wan't crushing on him and they were thrown together often by her crush..

I think he began liking her pretty quickly as they kept getting thrown together by her crush. Even when he went and saved her because her purse was robbed, and she fell asleep on his shoulder he pushed her off twice, then laid a tissue because he knew she would fall again, and then he smiled when she did. It has just grown for him imo.
