7/10. The lead couple never once irritated me and I loved how all characters were strong in their own ways. One character that caught my eye was Yun Lan, Yun Shu's sister. Highly recommended for people looking for some healthy fluff. I did skip some parts though, but it's still worth a watch.
More like drama let down/lack of motivation. I watched a Currently Airing drama and learnt my lesson - never watch them while on air cause its better to wait and binge and get ready, like you said - no emotional attachments. ;) I was watching Reply 1988, and even though I love the characters and storyline, I couldn't bring myself to watch past episode 14 but also don't want to drop it cause I've already invested roughly 14 hours for it. I chose this one over that to get rid of that unwanted feeling. And I'm already on Ep18, thanks to its duration.
Hmmm... how do I explain this? You know, when we invest too much of our time in one drama, but then feel a mixture of emotions and slowly start moving farther away from it to your own space when you feel like things are getting iffy...? Thats when I watch dramas like these. They make me feel happy. :D Weird answer, but that's literally how I feel. One reason is that I don't watch many dramas, but when I do, I emotionally invest too much in them and then later regret. I don't like that feeling which is why such fluffy/less popular gems are the "detoxifiers" for that. :D
Currently watching this as a form of "detox" and so far, despite its 100% fluffy nature + little substance, this is actually a good one if we are looking for a quick distraction. The leads and the Grandpa are my favorite.

Romance is not a huge part of the drama. But, there is one between Li Jin Bu and Duan Xiao. Its clearly said that Li Qing Tong has a long time serious crush on another student. (This is the spoiler free version. )
Got interested in this after learning that the author is the screen writer. (Never heard of the book or the author though.) Plus, Gala Zhang is really good. Never saw Mao Zijun before, but he seems promising from all the comments. MGTV has a lot of hit or miss dramas and they don't seem to take "competition" between video streaming platforms seriously. So, I have hopes that this one might be one of those dramas that might actually air later this year or the beginning of 2022 atleast. Or they plan to keep it in the vault for three years... (Surprised that there are already many BTS pictures and videos in weibo!) Now, lets just hope that it isn't messed up.
Don't get why Vampire Man, who does things so carefully, stylishly and methodically, would entrust the difficult…
This might not make sense, but it seems like a clever move of his. He does the dirty work, and leaves the cleaning to the ones who are obviously dumb - in that way, he isn't directly the culprit. Out of all the loose canons in that residence, he might be the one with all the screws in the right places. If anything ever went wrong, he just killed them off like popping balloons. Eg: EP2. 302 killed the detective. He killed him. Another example - the cat that was killed and placed in the bag. If anyone ever got caught, and they tried to tell on him, nobody would probably believe them. The only time they screwed up was while transporting the body and that too, cause the policewoman suspected them. Dentist was always BTS. Even at the very end, he is still behind the scenes. He is crazy, but he is "intelligent crazy". Joon Woo never suspected him until the food incident. But, he readily believed that the rest were crazy. (Dentist reminded me a lot about Ted Bundy - he single handedly committed so many crimes and nobody ever suspected him due to his charisma. )
About to watch the finale. Love this show, but I am just not believing the central BF/GF thing at all. There is…
To me, it seems that they did have a good relationship "before". (I can't provide evidence. From their talks before his arrival, they did seem to be a lot in touch.) But, once he actually got to Seoul, she prioritized her work above him. They rarely spent much time together and there is a sense of disconnect from both sides. She is worried, but keeps her "country bumpkin" image of him intact, leading to her misunderstanding him a lot. [This is one thing that lead him to bottle up his emotions and anger.] Overall, he was trying hard to give her space and understand her situation. Her boss and work was so crappy and she let herself get pushed around and didn't have any time for him. Plus, from his side, within days after moving to Seoul, he finds out that his coworkers either like him/hate him for no reason, the man next door had gone missing, a variety of creepy individuals watched him, his own boss friend was putting him down in multiple ways, his girlfriend had no time for him, etc... So, it was not a happy-go-lucky situation for both of them. Hence, their disconnect. Thats how I felt while watching. Like what Mr. Dentist told: everyone were eventually strangers when it finally came to themselves. Their relationship is one example of how true this was.
It depends I guess. Sometimes live adaptations work better in portraying some aspects, and sometimes the book does it better. I've only seen one of Priest's works. But, I've planned to read Mo Du before it gets released. I actually preferred the live adaptation of Word of Honor than the book. The characters were changed, but they were more interesting and fleshed out than the book, which seemed kind of lacklustre.
Three episodes in and I'm sold! I'm praying that it keeps up the same pace and depth till the very end. Still emotionally revovering from previous dramas and this is like a breath of fresh air.
Hey ,i have Two questions if someone can answer :) 1. Its any love triangle betewen ML and FL 2. It is normal…
1. There is some kind of entanglement of feelings between three characters. But, its technically not in a straight up love triangle. 2. Romance is not a huge part of the story. :)
Can you tell me how you made your article so colourful? What kind of function you used?
There is a thing called Insert Table option in the MDL editing page. We can choose to change the color of the table. (Don't worry. The options appear after we insert the table.)
Can you tell me where to write article ?I just can't figure please
Sure! :D 1. Go to this forum: https://kisskh.at/discussions/community-tasks/29624-mdl-writers-article-ideas-discussion?page=1 2. Leave a reply about what topic you'd like to write about. (You can see many users ask about various topics and editors replying to it.) An editor will contact you/leave a reply and let you know if the topic is available for you, that is, no one else was writing about it. 3. They "may" ask you to write the first draft in Google Docs and send them the link. 4. Or they'll skip this step and Private Message you a link where you can type your whole article. (This page is the one that appears in MDL.) I hope this helped! Happy writing! :)
This was a sleeper hit for me. It had all the elements to make the narrative move - stunning cinematography, steady…
Sleeper hit indeed. But, it never received the acclaim it deserved. :( (Except from Chinese viewers who are fans of wuxia.) This one of my all time favorite dramas. :)
[[Spoiler Alert for those who haven't watched this show]]Thank you for taking your time to discuss this with me…
Whoa! You thought a lot about it. Thank you for your reply. This is one of my most favorite shows ever and I check in once a while to see about the rating. :) I get what you mean - the telling the whole thing off as a dream is what makes the last episode seem like a cope out. And if I hadn't been able to buy that explanation, I'd think just like you. :) [I haven't watched Someday or One Day yet, I'll get to that after I'm done with Word of Honor. Will also check out Dark series. :)] If it really had been Jin Bu's dream, she shouldn't have been able to recall all the stuff she learnt in the present. From your perspective, it makes sense. The dream part seems to be just an explanation to wrap up the ending. Why I seem to be easily able to believe that the whole thing is just a dream is cause of two things: 1. She can't physically disappear from the future like Marty McFly. (Who even successfuly managed to change his future from the past.) In Jin Bu's case, nothing happened even if she tried. Duan Xiao... well. There is no other explanation for that except if we think that he too time travelled with her and adopted some fake identity or something. Which seems pretty far fetched. Its either that or agreeing that the guy in the last episode was some twin of the one she met in the past. There's the case of the guy in the photo, who was the original Duan Xiao. 2. This explanation might be the most stupidest one, but just like you mentioned, such stories use this trick to leave the ending for the audience's self interpretation. Jin Bu seemed to have been sent back to learn a lesson by the deific man who constantly appears to warn her about her short time there. Thats the only other explanation I can find. ------- What makes me believe the last episode seems to be because I believe that the whole thing is a dream. Your review is more grounded on reality and logic and it undisputably makes perfect sense. Thanks for taking your time to explain your views. :)
But, Republican Era dramas are not my thing - which is why I haven't watched it.
