All of you who never made it to the end you missed out. And dont tell me you ff'd to the end and still have any idea of the real show. Both KSH and GYJ really shone; neither is a character actor but both are excellent at building and following relationships through their arcs. GYJ is a wonderful zombie. Tell all your friends.
Recommended. The soundtrack isnt masterful, the kissing is a little old-fashioned and the camera doesnt hang around darkly in my favorite moody manner, But this is a real Hong Sisters masterpiece script, once again.
ep11 The reordering of time sequence hopefully only shows up once per episode, but i hope there is some meaning to it beyond making me feel distrustful of the narrative.
I would say those who anticipated indulging in a soulful Kdrama are now really pissed off because this series…
on the sound track -- def crap, maybe the american influence but i havent looked up the personnel yet. have u? but to call this hallmark can only mean you havent watched it all.
Wait, I haven't watched yet, but please enlighten me. I'm seeing comments about DID. Does the FL actually have…
yes, its pretty clinical as best i can remember the symptoms, but most definitely the way the two of them get through it closely resembles treatment methods.
I have a wild guess why people dislike this drama after 5 episodes. It's too complex and not a typical cute romcom…
I think you are right. I hear a lot of entitlement going on too. People seem to believe that they know everything about korean romantic dramas based on a year or two? There are plenty of complex and sad or just plain weird ones. This one is acgtually pretty amazing, although I think I personally need some more time to digest it all.
Can we call it a psychological thriller? As in the ML gets dragged into the maturation process of a woman damaged by childhood trauma who has developed a complete alter?
at ep7......... It is odd and wonderful to watch a new Hong Sisters' show after so long. They usually ride the top of the wave, so this one is a puzzler. I like that it is about language. The poetry seems to be getting in the way of the protagonists' communication though. The wrist grab by Sung Yoon of Lee Yi Dam was distatstefully old-school. Let us see how it is received by others. I really didnt like it; the reflection or refraction of the OTP wasnt obvious either.
I am in the middle of 5 and enjoying myself. It is a very conversational drama. Questions of sincerity are constantly arising. At the beginning Hiro delivers a confession. Does he mean it?
Between Hiro and MuHee, who will win? I want to find out the family mysteries behind why MuHee is so slip-slidey emotionally and HoJin is so dimly lit.
Banff is nice. The show is not bad. It is a wait-and-see at this point.
Ep 30 So all of Shan Bao's problems with her sisters and Grandmother have been a test. It i is a possible plot twist but the cruelty with which the Grandmother has accomplished this was gratuitous, painful and very dangerous to the business. If the clan really goes through this paroxysm every two generations it would be unlikely to have survived.
There is a red line for violence and betrayal which these women within the clan cross without reflection. This resembles some of the more over-the-top palace intrigue shows where poisonings relentlessly pile up, but placed in an 'exotic' locale and a fantasy culture.
When I started this I thought I was looking at a mockery of a fantasy of 'female power' for exploitation's sake. The initial scene of flagellation of a male lovers seemed simply smutty. While I became beguiled by the actors and the plot, the jury is still out on the exaggerations which twist the emotional life of these women living together.
The saccharine innumerable 'female]-centric' shows and, on the other hand, shows using this exaggeration of unrelenting cruelty amongst women are all in essence insulting. Some have more quality and should be judged by that. As a fan of both HMH and GB, I am enjoying this show and think it is a worthwhile watch. But a caution is in order. There is a certain intellectual weakness in the underpinnings of the plot.
Not finding any spoilers or other people's theories to answer the Q "where's butler Cheng?" (which seems…
Great comment. Read it all happily. 3. Slow burn can have a more reserved woman. It just isnt usual. I like the 'I love you' with my eyes that LJL pulls at every possible moment. But I am a girl, melting in my boots. 4. Trust is also hot, although maybe better in fiction (personal experience ouch). 5. You made my wait happy. Thx.
ep25 LJL comes galloping down an alleyway on a white horse on the diagonal. Woke me up! Cdrama camerawork is often total snooze -- who let that cameraperson off the leash? I will be watching, hoping to see sim again!
"Something's wrong..." Maybe not? I dropped Moon River when I heard this was coming.
I would rather see an excellent actress like Nam Ji Hyun give this a try. She has to pretend to be Moon Sang Min/Prince Yi Yeol all stuffed into her smaller frame....so a slower, very romantic princely person?
And I am now totally on the side of that big cutie, Moon Sang Min. I dont know if he can really pull this off either -- how can he really be Nam JiHyun/EunJo? Can he be as crisp and funny as she is?
A wonderfully romantic ending.
