This is a sophisticated production with a really poorly written female lead, it isnt just poor Ahn Eun-Jin. Cynical retro-romance tropes planned to garner the widest poss. audience.
I get really really annoyed after each episode of helpless clumsy clueless FL, but start the next just for another good shot of JKY.
Then I start laughing.
It is a great script OTHERWISE, with a really excellent ensemble of actors putting their all into being really entertaining.
Urgh. The babyBlue/yellow/pink color scheme, while appropriate, isnt for me.
I am only on ep15, but have slowly warmed up to this show mainly because of the non-verbal acting skills of Zhou Ke Yu. Timing and a complex collection of glances, blinks, shuffles, breaths and mumbles slowly have built up the emotional growth of a young man. Now we are treated to his eyebrows and wildly desperate glares like shots of adrenaline as he hides his attraction s/intentions but lets his feelings show. It is like an actor's showcase!
I am watching a new series on viki rakuten starring Kanon but there is no trace of the series here on viki. Not only that but all of the actors listed but one (who is listed asa trainee) arent listed either. Nor the director.
I am always curious about the newest actors but these are so new that no one knows anything about them. Or else all their names are made up.
The backgrounds of the whole series so far are all cgi.
I don't think you mean any harm by your comment and you seem like a genuine person, but can we stop commenting…
Just to be contrary, consider the pressures on female actresses to be overthin for certain parts if they arent already tiny enough to be picked up with one hand. Eun-Jin has to be carried around by Ki-yong, and even with lifts, dummies, doubles and camera fakeouts, she still has to generally look small enough ahead of time.
That said I am hoping she will gain back some weight within the show and attribute her thinness now to her character's being so 'stressed'...
I really related to LucyL's personal comment. Worrying about our actors and actresses health! So older generation....and here we are.
I just realized the actor who plays cute Gyeong Min, JiHyeok's secretary, is actually a musical theater actor. Shin Joo Hyup, that is. I am always amazed at the professional power some shows can pack into their casts.
Each shot of his face is like an electric shock and I treasure those happy smiles. I have a friend who says she cranes her neck to follow her favourite MLs as they move offscreen, and now I understand.
The fire -- motivation of bad brother? -- pure spite at his sisters project, an attempt to devalue the company he is trying to take over (BeBe),. It doesnt help with trying to break off the imaginary engagement of HaYeong and JiHyeok. An excellent plot device though, all of the 'good characters behave admirably.
As for Darim carrying out JiHyeok on her back -- Adrenaline. (In addition to the usual apparatus needced behind the scenes in RomComs -- lifts, doubles, fancy visual deceptions -- you dont really think all the piggybacks home from the bar or the princess lifts in danger are real?)
Ha Yeong is so original in spirit! Look at her cheerfully nudging her true love along. The truth is that DaRim and Seon U are such good friends because they are very alike: affectionate and attached to their families, steadfast, loyal and not quick to change emotionally.
Thank you for this nice long meaty interview with a favourite actor; loved not just for his acting but also for his expressiveness and kindness in his public life.
They do have a sweet friendship but it's Darim's mother who helping Ji Hyeok's mother. First with the advice that…
Yes and all the neat accidental meetings, if the 1000Won pair actually have meetings in the house. And if the ML chances to barge in and finds his mom....
Everything can be interpreted as harassment or stalking unless explicit permission is given. The key point of…
@cindesaurus. Thanks for yr comments. You cool down the room. Except when you make me laugh -- obsessive pining lol. Still, if it can be kept low key it would be nice to acknowledge some of the grosser moments for our own mental health. I just watched Beautiful Gong Shim. NamgoongMin as the ML does one of those feral wristgrabs to his much younger FL. She struggles, he yanks her closer and glares at her until she relaxes against his grip. Its another culture and its an art-form, rom-com, with its own stylized moves......... but it still makes me uncomfortable.

well that ending is total fantasy -- oh well..)
Courage Ha Yeong! Fighting!
I love the acting of both M Ls, tugging at my heartstrings.
I love how sensible DaRim finally is once she realizes the facts of the matter!
And, as always with this show, I am laughing agaoin...
