As per reports, viewership of this kdrama is crashed, and now heading towards a big budget failure for netflix!!If…
No it isnt a failure atall. It is a big hit for Netflix. And if I were a Netflix exec I would be pleasantly surprised. It was never expected to be anything other than pretty entertainment, Looks like the world's citizens need exactly that right now. Dour, petty and sanctimonius critics now look foolish,

A solid and silly piece of entertainment without a false step from any of the actors. The mdl rating is criminally low.

man.. unpopular opinion but i really like hye ji. honestly the latest episode confirmed it that she is a disturbing…
I like her too. She is like one of the innocently criminal in a fictional british underworld, and so her reactions arent predictable.
Her impromptu dance at the party was whacky and a genius distraction which saved Yeong Ran when she needed it.

Yes, I am curious as to why the decision to drag this out with one ep a day.

Has it been released in all markets yet? A coordination with other releases? (Viki hasnt released it in the US yet and I am not sure if it is all netflix markets yet)

Or maybe because it hasnt cut to the top of the line very fast and they are hoping the buzz of frustration will lure more viewers.

Odd for such an AMAZING PRODUCTION not to have much buzz.

What is the ring-turning, turning it under to hide it, turning it outwards to use in some form of control?? Several characters do it...are they magic rings or is it a gesture of power?

ep6-7 let it be a lesson; never ask an ancient divine primordial beast for love advice even if he looks like a cute guy.

EP 6-7 The beauty of sageuk and Chinese fantasy costume dramas is their ability to absorb current social problems to make their stories interesting. Here a long-standing problem of industrial pollution ignored by those in power. A good job of portraying the cynical subtle struggles for power among various factions in charge of such tragedies. Gaslighting, false testimonies, fear of reprisals from unjust rulers, the usual palace intrigues put to good use.

https://flixpatrol.com/title/genie-make-a-wishGo, spread the word the boycott isn't working.
Th e MDL rating doesnt even blip on Netflix' radar. While they want to keep their English-speaking audience. panning Asian shows wont affect Netflix' ideas about what to do.

Why doesnt anyone understand? NOBODY CARES IF YOU DRIVE DOWN MDL RATINGS LIKE FOOLS! NOBODY CARES! You have no economic clout whatsoever.

The audience for Asian drama, THE MONEY for Netflix and the production companies etc, IS NOT IN AN ENGLISH=SPEAKING AUDIENCE. The audiences where growth is still possible are in Spanish-speaking countries for all services, in Mandarin for Netflix bec they are weak there.

So all this nonsense activism goes NOWHERE. NOBODY CARES IF YOU TRY TO GET A BOYCOTT GOING IN AN ENGLISH_SPEAKING AUDIENCE!!!

After watching To the Wonder, I feel drawn towards atypical and different-from-the-norm Asian dramas, so naturally,…
Since Suzy plays a psychopath, its pretty quirky. And Kim Woobin lives up to the fire that genies were created from. Great kissing.

A troll army has decided that mdl is its latest target. Dont pay them any mind. Genie is super popular in Muslim countries. Its a bit bold with the angels/jinns but that's entertainment --

Genie is doing SPECTACULARLY WELL in Muslim countries!!!!!!

As of yesterday on Netflix Top Ten:
Number One in Indonesia,
Number Two in Pakistan, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, and Qatar,
Number Three in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, and Bangladesh,
Number Four in Egypt.

It is very clear that the overriding majority of Muslims on the Earth are able to separate entertainment from theology.

Genie has made the Netflix top ten list in the most populous muslim countries in the world: including Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and also in Egypt, Morocco, Oman, Saudi, Qatar, Turkey and the UAE.

So perhaps those who are most sensitive on this subject in these pages are only a subset of the larger Muslim family.

I like KWB & BZ, but this wasn't the right comedy for them. Bad writing aside, this had more of a slapstick…
Yes, I agree. Minus the usual poop jokes this was the broad style. The 11thC Arabia scenes, though, were more tasteful.

About the acting, I just want to mention the spectacular jobs done by the other members of the main cast.

The strength of Korean comedy above and beyond any other national cinematic comic tradition always lies in the very tight teamwork of the central cast, the stellar comic abilities of so many of these 'supporting' actors.

Without the character played by the great Kim Me Kyung the plot wouldnt have worked at all, but without Steve Noh, Ko Kyu Pil, Lee Joo Young, and most of the village cast the tone and pacing of the entire comic show would have been missing.

Above all what makes Korean comedy special is the perfectly oiled machine of the amazing crews and directors whose spot-on collaborations are honed and perfected through making hundreds of comedies every year. If you insist on falling into the star-system trap you miss so much of the show!

I personally didn't have this much fun watching a drama for a long time. It's "kinda" a dark comedy and…
Well said.

I loved this. Sadly it's over. Hopefully something as good comes out soon.I just don't understand why the king…
It would have been possible to exile them, take away privileges and/or punish entire branches of the family. So being restrained would just mean being public and not impulsive.
