Woah! Where did that whole virginity thing came from? We've only seen 2 episode so far in which FL is with our…
This particular user is obsessed with fact that dramas don't parade the male leads sexual history on screen. This is a common drama formula where the male lead will pine and not have any significant romantic relationships, while the female lead will probably have one or two crappy relationships that are usually part of the plot (like the reason she comes back home or whatever and thus narratively relevant). Because the male leads romantic or sexual history is not plot relevant and therefore not displayed on screen this user has decided that means the characters are virgins for some reason (cause I guess causal sex doesn't exist?). They seem to watch every drama with this formula and come complain about it. I blocked them a long time ago.
So I blocked that particular user forever ago because for some reason they keep trolling dramas like this? They don't like this particular formula and yet they will show up on every drama that has this formula just to complain about how much they hate it.
I don't understand why someone's virginity is treated as something so important to fixate on. Shouldn't their…
What I don't understand is why these folks assume characters are virgins unless the drama specifically holds their hand and tells them a character has fucked. I mean I just assume they have unless their virginity or lack of experience becomes plot relevant. And I'm an asexual virgin so it's not like I don't think older virgins exist. Some folks are weirdly hung up on the precieved virginity of fictional characters.
Look, it’s not even that complicated. To each their own, yes. But going out of your own way to taint a show…
I find it best to just block these people and move on because this kind of response is exactly what they are hoping for when they pull this shit.
I feel like these folks think their experience is universal and see anything that doesn't reflect their reality as "incorrect". Which just feels like a really myopic view of the world tbqh.
This is such a refreshing and sweet story and honestly I’m entirely with you. This is a sweet youth romance…
I'm more of a character watcher anyway, Give me good actors with good chemistry and I'm sold. So when people complain about the plot of a drama I generally can't relate because I'm too busy loving the characters.

Completely agree with this, and it jives with my own observations coming from manga to live action. Honestly I don't watch a lot of BL these days cause I'm nearly 40 and I often feel like I've outgrown the genre in some ways (there only so many times I can watch 20 somethings falling in love I think, lol). But I dip my toe back in now and again when something strikes my fancy.
There's a popular argument against these fluffy BLs that teenage boys are just horny and would jump each other…
I didn't realize I was queer until my 20s, and it took until my 30s to really figure out asexuality and I think if I had had a shows like this as a kid? Could I have found the words sooner?
I think half the problem is treating BL like a monolithic category that should fit into one box. Which is ridiculous to me because we know this stuff is a spectrum, a goddamn rainbow, and we all deserve to see ourselves in media.
I thinks those who find this "unrealistic" may not understand the history of BL - this is a classic BL.…
No the problem is that they do understand it but look down on it as being "for teenage girls" at best or homophobic at worst. An argument that's been on the go since the genre began.
I was so confused by the comments but turns out I had that person blocked. Probably for the same reasons.
There's a popular argument against these fluffy BLs that teenage boys are just horny and would jump each other and shows like this lack the passion and realism they should have. Which always feels really ... idk like reinforcing some shitty gender stereotypes?
And I always think kids need queer content too? Stuff they can watch with Mom and Dad, etc.
Honest ask, why was Hioki so hesitant to answer? It took him witnessing others want Watarai to suddenly decide.…
"It's giving lack of self awareness"
He's, what? 17? I think a lack of self awareness is pretty common amongst teens. Especially teens just figuring out their sexuality and whom have no other romantic experience to draw from.
