Finished all 6 episodes. The first 2 episodes quite a letdown. The opening episode is so important, where you get viewers hooked, but it got no ‘fire’..& does not feel like it’s a thriller or mystery genre. It’s gets better from Ep 3. I feel Ep 3 should be the opening episode. And Ep 1 & 2 can be flashback after that. It’s trying hard to give background story in Ep 1 & 2, but it’s not gripping enough. Some may just drop after the first 2 episodes. Let’s hope they keep the storyline/cases tight in the coming episodes and not disappoint us. We are spoiled with couple of good cdramas (POB & ADWAD) and expectations just get higher😅
Episode 11 is so good…the effects…thumbs up👏👏…too bad only one episode today. Really enjoying this drama…the way they tell the story, the way they speak (not like other cdrama where they make it perfect and speak fluent Mandarin), having their own accent gives you the reality of people from different regions or places.. And the whole “Blood Trial” thing feels like a gaming arena….killing off people and collecting weapons😅
It’s a decent watch except for the twin brothers’ plot twist. The cases are actually quite predictable. Not really sold on the stories surrounding the Heavenly Society. Maybe could have more screen time of Yan Ze as the society leader. Not impactful enough to line up the storyline into the royal family. And the best part (which most people liked) is that it makes sure all the bad people die (I think not a single one is left out, except for the crown prince..he is not really bad) and the good ones lived. This is quite rare in Cdrama… Overall a decent watch…not something that you will wait eagerly for new episodes.

Anyone know the character Yan Ze (actor Yang Shi Ze)? I don’t think I have seen him till the current episodes. Is he Prince Jin (actually not dead). And is he the leader of the cult society? And he is back for revenge to the emperor (which might have supposedly killed him)? Can’t think of anyone ‘outstanding’ that could be the leader…except him… Even the painter and the fortune teller could be his accomplices to uncover past events …just my thoughts…

But, I also saw a clip that shows Nan Heng fighting (like in an battle) and collapsing in SYM’s arms like dying…. Pls don’t tell me Nan Heng dies and story rewrite again & starts with Nan Heng slip into the drama plot like what happen to SYM …that will be be even more fun….haha…

More like a remake to me. It’s the same role as teacher & surgeon go on a date, something happen, and like what was described here, both have conflicting stories the next day… I don’t think they will have huge changes to the story. Unless, they switched the baddie role😅… if you want spoiler, I can tell you the gist of the story of the British version.
I remember watching a British drama (series) similar with this synopsis. I think the title is Liar too. How come did not mention it’s a adaption or remake? Not sure if story runs the same as the British drama..the ML there is ‘gone case’.. Quite sure Yoon Yeon Seok’s caliber can do this role well..

Same feel…although her visuals are good…it’s just something about her..maybe how she expressed herself or she have not got the right fit of role. I also could not continue the previous 2 dramas she is in even though I like the male lead🙁…it’s going to b same here..

Crown Prince is Mu Wuhou, related to counterfeit case. The one that helped FL is Fourth Prince, Mu Wuxia. The baddie Mu Wonyin is the 3rd Prince. He is currently pretending not interested in palace stuff & he will fall for the FL. I think he could also be secretly working with Lu Huo (FL evil Queen mother)..just my guess..

This drama is really funny & enjoying so much. But, I am afraid that I am going to start disliking the FL if she continue to put Nan Heng in the bad light (because past script was written like that) and not do a fact check when something goes wrong…thinking it’s always Nan Heng’s fault. It’s true that she is affected by how the script was written…but has she forgotten that the script is beginning to be rewritten? Hope she gets smarter in the coming episodes. I feel sad for Nan Heng. Who knows when the script changes, Gui Hong could start to become the bad guy…
Overall a decent watch…not something that you will wait eagerly for new episodes.
