I came for this drama with high hopes. Because saw the director (Deng Ke) is same as The Prisoner of Beauty (a drama that can rewatch many times😘). Not totally disappointed because we have Cheng Lei here but the cast of Song Yi is really disappointing. Cheng Lei’s fighting scenes are really cool and nice. Having back to back dramas to compare 2 female Generals, Zhou Ye stands out more like a General (even though she is petite), just by judging her fighting skills. Song Yi is too gentle & soft to be casted as a General (including her voice, too sweet😅). Just looking at how they fight in battles, Song Yi’s battles’ skills is really mediocre. Isn’t a spear a must have weapon for a General in battle fight? But, she uses only bow and arrow to fight and is more like defense and when in danger…here comes Xuan Yi Ke to save her😱. Worst still is the way she shoot the arrow, it just feels lacking, no power at all. Can only say this General is weak. So far, this is the first time I have seen Song Yi in this type of role…I think she should not pick such roles in future. In fact, I do enjoy her other dramas like Destined & Follow Your Heart. She can act strong woman with her heart but not physically. She lacks the awe-inspiring power to look like a General. From what I see here, Cheng Lei would probably be the highlight of this drama. Hopefully, in the coming episodes, we could see more of the interactions between the leads (and less in battlefield), other side story plot, etc… Let’s pray the story plot does not go astray…🙏 p/s: had a check who is the screenwriter and found out that this is the first project for one of the writers..🙏

Right. It started pretty well but slowly going downhill. I guess removing scenes of the previous Chen Lisu does somehow affect the flow and some scenes with other actors. Pity Tao Tao, her scenes must have cut the most. And for Cheng Lei, not really a deep impression (no depth) of his role here and we see Zhang Ke Le more stand out for his role. I believe Cheng Lei’s role in Shadow Love should be (and hope) far better than Xiao Jue. Looking forward to that in a few days’ time.

I believe he need to show the reason he wears a mask because he says his face is slightly disfigured and plans to take off the mask and say his face is getting better.. Not exactly illness but just weak and will not survive the harsh military training…let alone to become a general..

Genetic conditions from family can passed down to next generation. Conditions like impaired hearing (from FL side).. For now, I am just guessing ML may have too…that’s why the wife don’t want to have kids. But, with the new husband, she looks pregnant…
