I will say I do like that love hasn't transformed these dudes into someone else. They're demonstrably incredibly happy with each other, but Sand is still too passive and patient with people who do not deserve it and Ray is still reactive with a bit of a temper. Good. Being in love doesn't magically make you a different person. Boeing is annoying but if they can't get through this blip after getting through all the other shit maybe they need to accept they shouldn't be together.
I hope they do get through it because I actually quite like them together now that they're on the same page about what they want and where they stand.
I do feel like I get Sand a lot here, He really loved Boeing, the show goes out of its way to showcase that, it must be rough having him suddenly pop up and bring back a lot of feelings that Sand hasn't really dealt with. I mean I'll defend and support Sand even if he is wrong, and I'll even go further and say that part of the reason I've been as hard on Ray as I have been is because he's been so regularly not great with Sand. I can admit my own biases.
But I also feel like all these guys are painfully human. That's what makes them so damn frustrating so often - because they make very very human mistakes. Like Sand here. He loved Boeing. Like really loved Boeing. It's clear. It's also clear he never dealt with Boeing leaving - he just pushed it down and called it good. And now he's back, and he *has* to deal with it. Him floundering is actually the least worst thing he could be doing here.
He's already moved on. He just needs to catch up with that now that he's being actively confronted with the past that he's been ignoring. I have no problem with Sand being on the chopping block, as you say, but I'd like it to be for things he's actually done. I really don't see how he's being different with Boeing than he was with Ray, and I really don't remember people being this upset when Ray was walking all over every boundary Sand set up. Because that's exactly what Boeing is doing, and yet Sand is getting the blame. I dislike it.
Sand clearly has a lot of unresolved issues around Boeing that he needs to work through. It's kind of like when Ray needed to work through his Mew problems, only I don't remember Ray getting it in the teeth for that as much. Could be bias though for sure.

Oh yeah his ire has been misdirected for sure - Boeing left. Top didn't put a gun to his head. But I get Sand in that it's easier to blame the other person than it is to blame the person you love (or loved). But I also very much think that part of that is that Sand doesn't want to deal with what it might say about *him*, that he wasn't enough for Boeing to stick around.
I do think he might have also fixated a little on Ray because his relationship with Ray reinforced whatever the breakup with Boeing left in his head - Ray was highkey emotionally unavailable and telegraphing it at every turn, and yet Sand was pretty far in very quickly. That said, it's equally clear that now Ray is entirely in this thing, and Sand is too, but he has to deal with his issues surrounding Boeing first, just like Ray had to deal with his Mew issues.
I am not frustrated with Sand, but I do wish that he were a little less...not nice, exactly, but gentle, and a little less prone to pushing things down or ignoring his own feelings. I feel like he's due for an explosion but I could be wrong.
