Not an easy watch. The way it ended was okay. I don't think I would have felt right about a different ending for Hsiao Tung given what happened with Li Jen Yao.
The story was interesting enough to keep me going till the end. However it felt dated, the visuals were mediocre, there were many side character plots that felt dragging which I skipped. Most of all, the leads didn't really fit their roles very well and had zero connection. Overall it was disappointing.
The story , actors and performances were all good but the ending was unsatisfactory. For all the troubles they went through, the lead couple could have had a happier ending. I would probably not have watched had I known how it was going to end.
This was a well made drama with a bunch of very intriguing characters and great actors. I enjoyed the slower pace and the air of suspense it maintained until the final episode. Also, eight episodes felt just right, without dragging out the plot too much.
This started off well but after the half way point Dongbaek just kept getting more and more annoying. It was a combination of both Gong Hyo Jin's portrayal and the character writing that made me dislike Dongbaek towards the end. Like others commented here, I didn't understand why Jeong Ryul got so much hate for fair intent. Kang Ha Neul was convincing in character, but the romance did not work for me. Even the thriller story line was dragged so much that it lost impact by that point. Overall it was a disappointing watch for me.
The story and cast were all good but towards the middle the drama lost steam. It might have felt that way because the male lead had nothing much to do- things were just happening around him and his character was as much an observer as we were. Also for a drama with romance on the title, the romance wasn't much to write about. The murder mystery didn't leave any impact either. The aunt-mom-daughter relationship was nice but in the end they didn't give any explanation for the girl's behavior. Overall, the drama is very watchable, but for a story that started so well and with so many interesting characters, I was expecting more.
Definitely a thriller, with a good set of characters, but the story was probably the most convoluted one I've seen in a while. The story kept getting more dark as it went on, more than what I wanted to see. To it's credit though, it was the right number of episodes and ended without dragging too much. The story has absolutely nothing to do with the actual Little Women book, save three sisters and a rich grandaunt with a parrot.
This was probably the most painfully beautiful story I've watched in a long while. The turn it took in the last few episodes was so unexpected, but it made everything that came before fall in place. Joon Ha, Hye Ja, Dae Sang, Jung Eun and even some other minor supporting roles- all of these characters touched my heart and made me cry a sea of tears. Truly a special drama.
The story was something different enough to keep me curious as to what happens next. The characters and their inner conflicts were interesting, and the actors were good as well. However it felt a little flat, with the situations happening on screen leaving little impact. There was a lot of lag in how the story was told- I had to fast forward through a lot of it to get to the actual story parts.
This is a very moving and uplifting story about friendship, love and growing up. The relationship between the two younger characters of Baek Yi Jin and Ne Hee Do is so special and beautiful that it's impossible not to get a little heartbroken at the end when they go their separate ways. It's both realistic and heartbreaking because we can feel their love for each other, but we also see that the love alone was not enough to keep them together. It was quite hard to watch the last episode knowing where its going. The one thing I could have done without in this drama is the current day storyline with a daughter I didn't connect with, and an older Hee Do who I felt didn't have any of the spirit or uniqueness that Kim Tae Ri brought to the younger character. The story of the younger characters could have been told without this other timeline, which literally felt like an interruption in many places.
This was a mixed bag. The first six episodes went like a breeze- very engaging and fun. After that the drama went into a slump from which it never recovered. The last couple episodes felt boring and uninspired.
To begin with, this drama seemed a little more slow paced than usual and I didn't care much for the romances (except for Chan Young and Jin Seok), but despite that I found myself taken in by the story line of their friendship and of course, the stellar performances. Everyone did really well, but Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do and Lee Moo Saeng's performances were outstanding to me. Son Ye Jin's character was somewhat annoyingly dominating in the initial episodes, but that changed as the story progressed and you could see her character growing more mellow and mature. Her performance was amazing as ever. I would definitely watch this drama again just for revisiting the performances and their friendship.
The leads had great chemistry and the main story line following their work struggles was engaging. Didn't care for the second leads romance angle on which too much time was spent, which I skimmed through. But mostly, the main story made it worthwhile. It was satisfying to see a relationship with so much mutual respect and understanding for each other's ambitions and goals.
