My memory is a bit blurry, but it started with a family money debt something, it was very bad that they even have to transfer house. And then from then it was accumulation of small things and that FL realize that their reality was very different. She overheard a professor telling the ML an opportunity to study abroad in which he declined so easily. She was poor and had to struggle with money and want to be independent fast to support her grandma. ML in the otherhand is laid back, (in his defense, he felt like he should not want more in his life because he is living a life that was not meant for him. The real son of his parents died). They actually talked on the phone when ML got drunk and called her to ask why they broke up. FL said that she is struggling, but then, ML's phone slipped on his hand (because he was drunk) and did not hear properly, he replied as if dismissing FL's honest situation. She was taken aback and so instead of making up, that created more distance between them.
In conclusion, FL was young and was in debt. She felt the only thing that truly belonged to her that she could give up was Woong. And she did. She let go of him, did not want to drag him down (cliche reason maybe of "it's not you, it is me problem"😅)
But this is also why it worked out well for them in the present timeline. FL was no longer in shackles of poverty. Woong was able to find something he wants (architecture) ratether than just laze around, contented and feeling guilt of the dead son and anxious of getting abandoned,

He struggled with it but also paved way for his career. His dark years were also his most intricate masterpieces. And to quote his friend, I don't want you to go back to that time. :)

ML has some history and it is shown that he struggles with insomnia. ML is rich but not CEO/chaebol rich attitude. His parents owns food places and he is pretty successful at his job. See spoiler for further details. But it is a major spoiler for me so beware :)

the fl is not appealing, she wears basic teacher clothes. even her fringe/bangs is so out of style. hahaha but it lets me focus more on her words rather than her appearance. the storyline is not the most original, it has the same format with many teacher themed dramas. so yeah, I understand if you have not get into this show yet :D

no hidden meaning, it just literally means, a person who talks a lot. one who has a lot of things to say about a certain topic. Another example of this is Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai (2019). If you are into japanese manga, you will notice that each panel is bombarded with words, be it conversations and or monologues. while korean webtoons have more noticeable blank spaces. Most of my reasons why I like Jdoramas is how most of the running time , it is just reading of the subtitles and getting into the character's brain and in their train of thoughts :D P.S. I just searched chatterbox in google and it is actually a negative word, hehehe, but I had good intentions when I used that :D

Most of my reasons why I like Jdoramas is how most of the running time , it is just reading of the subtitles and getting into the character's brain and in their train of thoughts :D
