it is so disappointing to see Counters this weak? What is the purpose of them? Years of trainings and power? Like…
I noticed in Season 1 the Counters were pretty weak too. Without Mun they would have been defeated by the evil spirits then. But everything worked out okay in the end. Same in this season as well.
juseok seems to be the demon parallel to Mun.. i wanted him to go after evil spirits for revenge.. but he just…
Because he’s consumed with anger and has become extremely reckless with his decisions. I’m patiently waiting for the day (maybe the ending?) when he’d finally realize himself that the people he was teaming up with were the very ones who murdered his family. That he was toyed with so cruelly. And then, what will he do about it? This is what I’m looking forward to. Thus I’m not judging this season until it’s completed.
Well, we can’t keep comparing Season 1 with Season 2 in terms of character growth and flow because Season 1 was an introduction to the main characters-mostly Mun-how he dealt with his new identity as a Counter with weak, unstable powers, and volatile emotions that almost cost him his freedom as a possible juvenile delinquent and his job as a Counter (forever). Of course the story was set up that way and different from Season 2 because *the characters were at a different stage in their lives*. They all grew and matured within the 3 year gap. Season 1 showed the Counter’s family background or history, and mostly Mun grappling to find his way in this new world and role that was given to him unexpectedly while he was just walking with his friends, minding his own business. Season 2 is also showing us growth and development but in different ways. How do you fulfill your sacred duty amidst internal conflicts and moral dilemmas? And that age old question of what truly makes a person evil or good? Is it nature or is it the environment in which he is in? How will the Counters deal with evil spirits that are inferior in terms of brute and strength (compared to Mun) but intellectually superior and far more cunning? Pil Gwang couldn’t win over Mun in Ep.4. So he became a puppet master who manipulated people and events for the Counters and their friends to fight each other. Mun is the Yung Territory himself so the demons wanted to find a way to defeat him by using the Counters’ close friendships to their advantage. It would be more challenging to defeat an enemy if emotions got in the way, wouldn’t it? With the level of emotional maturity and power the Counters have achieved over the last 3 years, would you expect the same type of challenges again? Of course not. Because they accomplished that level of change in themselves that was meant to be accomplished. The lessons meant to be learned were learned along the way. The original three forged a dynamic with a much younger recruit and adapted well to their nuances (and most especially his immaturity back then). NEW lessons need to be learned this time around. I don’t get why people don’t see this.
they better explain how Ma Ju Sueok's evil spirit is at least a level 3 and how the hell he is "special". IF,…
The people at Yung already explained it. Ma Ju Seok is a very rare, unpredictable case. Like Mun. It was his blind rage that called out the evil spirit. And the way I see it, the intensity of that rage must have been so lethal and strong that the evil spirit he attracted to himself was already a level 3.
So apparently…Mun’s counterpart this season isn’t Pil Gwang. I got it wrong from the trailers. It’s Ma Ju Seok. They are unique cases in both turfs. Mun was “possessed” by Wi Gen when he wasn’t comatose. Ju Seok was possessed by the demon when he had neither killed nor was he a totally corrupt person yet. And both are incredibly powerful. It’s just sad that Ju Seok completed his first murder and the consumption of a soul already. He crossed over completely to the dark side now. I didn’t miss that part when he shielded Mun from the bullets in the penitentiary during his escape. It meant he genuinely cared about Mun. But so far I’m loving the pacing of Season 2. I love that the stakes are getting higher and the villains both human and demonic are gradually being revealed to have emotional ties with the Counters.
This was a stunning masterpiece of a drama. I was triggered by a few stories because depression and suicide are very personal to me. But the one that made me bawl the most was the war veteran’s subplot followed by fur baby Kong’s own story and the Korean comfort women during WWII. It’s beautiful to see this Kdrama honoring the people who fought and suffered in their country’s history. And that remark about the purity of animals…of dogs…is so true. I’m a huge dog lover myself so that story hit me hard. Ahhh this series makes me cry so much 😭💖
I was heartbroken that Park Jung Gil and Goo Ryun could no longer end up happily together because of their choices when they were alive 😞 But at least they are “colleagues” for all eternity. They can still see each other in one way or another. I’m taking comfort in this.
This just became one of my top favorite Kdramas. A very human, deep, heart wrenching yet healing series that surpassed 18 Again for the Top 1 Spot Best Kdrama I’ve seen. I’m glad I took the plunge and watched it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have discovered this precious jewel.✨✨✨
After watching the 5th episode, I’m starting to think the firefighter will be the final villain. If he can’t be redeemed of course. Or he would kill Pil Gwang and Gelly once he discovers the truth that the latter were the ones who actually murdered Min Ji in the end? Super demon vs super demons 🤔
I really respect everyone's opinions about hana and so mun that they are like family and that they should stay…
Well when Mun found out that Ha Na was on a date with another guy, he didn’t seem to care. It was Jeong Bok who got hilariously jealous 😂 That should be a sign already. Maybe Ha Na is that attractive to guys in general. Mun was just one of them. Like, come on. Her first love still harbors feelings for her as shown in Episode 5 🤷🏻♀️ Her first love took care of her when she was in a coma. That’s deep. I ship her with him. Anyway, I’m fine with Uncanny Counter having no romance. It was never central to the theme.
I still have faith in Jeok Bong though. We still got 7 episodes left. 😁
this is just a romantic comedy, as fluffy as posible, without any big stress, with beautiful visuals, superb chemistry,…
Agreed. I thought it was a really sweet and light KDrama. I didn’t expect anything more and just enjoyed it for what it was. The genre was clearly the same as Touch Your Heart. I don’t understand why people are complaining though?
How is the rating dropping so much... I wanted to watch it. should I?? (Don't give spoilers)
You should watch it. It’s a very light hearted romantic comedy. It feels like a gentle breeze under the scorching sun. A perfect break from heavy Kdramas. Conflicts get resolved quickly, the relationship is healthy and the friendships…friendship goals. 👌🏻 The ML and FL were also great characters. They’re emotionally mature, confident, dedicated and compassionate walking green flags. Despite the overly simplistic writing, I liked how the characters were written.
Ms.Chu, Mo Tak and of course, the awesome Mun who had so much growth in Season 1. And let me just add, his powers are getting crazy! He is the most powerful Counter to date. Pil-gwang is no longer on his level, at least in Season 2 episode 4. I assumed he was the “most powerful” demon but it’s like he had very little chance in completely overpowering Mun.
does it have romance? If yes then how much is it? :)
In Season 1, there is no romance between the main character Mun and another Counter Ha Na (well, Mun had a little crush on Ha Na in the first few eps) but it’s actually a good thing because the dynamic in the team is actually more like a family and it’s pretty heartwarming to see how much they care for each other. Ms.Chu is like a mother and Mo Tak is like an older brother to Mun. I actually don’t want any romance because it would kinda ruin that family relationship for me, even in Season 2 (which is still airing). There is a little flirting though. One-sided flirting from the oldie Mr.Choi towards Ms.Chu haha.
I hate sageuks but I love love love this KDrama mainly because of Park Bo Gum. He was an amazing male character. Strong, intelligent (cunning but in a good way) and noble. Also, this isn’t a tragedy and the overly complicated political shenanigans where the king or crown prince or whatever are killed are absent.
This was a very heartbreaking movie but I loved that it showed the bitter reality of a once beautiful relationship gone south. It breaks the usual formula of a KDrama which is why I liked it. Except for all the cheating, I could empathize with the main female lead when her longtime boyfriend neglected her and eventually fell out of love for her.
Do Hwi is a very decent man (at least until Ep7 we don’t know how this season will end), I don’t get all the bashing from Mun-Ha Na shippers 😒
I was heartbroken that Park Jung Gil and Goo Ryun could no longer end up happily together because of their choices when they were alive 😞 But at least they are “colleagues” for all eternity. They can still see each other in one way or another. I’m taking comfort in this.

I hope we get a Season 2. 🤞🏻
