Since I’ve watched it twice and pretty much remember their conversations. I’ll rewatch their scenes again and concentrate on their faces this time, not the subtitles:)
Yass one of the queens has spoken. So glad you're done because I've been so curious for your thoughts as I took…
I totally agree with you. The author knows their characters best, to have both Ling Buyi and Shaoshang become shadows of their former selves does not do justice to the epic love story that LLTG is..
They did SS dirty after the revenge arc. She was never depressed. She loves hin still but she was determined to…
To get over the disappointment, my son (i actually cried while complaining to him) told me to just consider them as separate stories.. so i can move on..

You worded it perfectly. The disappointment we novel fans feel is difficult to move on from because most of the novel is in the drama.
How could we not look forward to those scenes enacted? Visualizing is different from actually seeing them portrayed by Leo and Lu Si. I’m heartbroken because they did their roles so well, we invested our emotions, they became part obsession.
Though we knew they were going through the difficult break-up, we thought it would be worthwile if we saw him begging, no, groveling.. the great general on his knees. That would have made this drama more unforgettable.. that would have made the angst and the buckets we cried for them worthwhile.
After watching the fasttrack epidodes, my heart aches terribly. Yes, its an epic drama with a happy ending, but I feel something is missing. The reconciliation arc in the novel is more intense. I was so looking forward to Huo Buyi’s dashing moves, Shaoshang’s determined resolve, Yuen Shan’s persistence. It’s a lot more thrilling, more in keeping with their personalities. Huo Buyi reckless and daring, Shaoshang feisty.
With the calibre of the cast (particularly Leo Wu and Lu Si), the wonderful directing, cinematography, bgm, and everyone involved in the production, this would have been phenomenal to see.
For me, it’s like in the novel they are mandarin ducks.. in the drama.. they are chickens.
I think it ultimately comes down to her feelings. Honestly, I would be pissed if the one I wanted to marry after…
I do agree with you, but i can’t help feeling bitter for her. Knowing she has to face the aftermath of what he did, and that she already loved him wholeheartedly, he could have been more considerate. I for one believe that true love includes taking care not to hurt the other. He didn’t just hurt her. He devastated her..

That he snapped under pressure makes it easier to accept why he did what he did.. you’re right. After all he’s done for her (and probably what he will do), he deserves the 2nd chance..
The scriptwriters took out the healing process.

The novel was difficult to read (google translate), really looked forward to how they would be acted out..
Their break-up and the events that lead to it were heartwrenching to watch.. the way they got back made
me go —ehh? What happened?..
