It's a great drama but I'm appalled and disgusted how some victims and their families blamed, bullied and harrased the innocent family members of the criminal. The only person you could be angry with was the perpetrator!!, not his family or friends, who had absolutely nothing to do with his heinous act.
Also the backward way of thinking and attitude about what a man, a woman or a family should be like, which will make you think the drama takes place in the 1800s and not in the 21st century. For example:
* You're a female. Females need to marry. * You don't have the same social status as I do, so you should be happy that I want to marry you. * I want to marry you, so you can take care of my grandmother. (You want a wife or a servant?!) * Your ancestors did something bad, that's why your brother is sick! * A man needs a job to feel accomplished. (Really? That's the only reason?) * etc.
Haha, I don't think I've ever screamed at a drama before this:'D all the feels in this one
Ikr. I always try not to engage too much in dramas because it's just a fiction after all but this time I was on the edge throughout the whole episode and just couldn't help myself and had to let off some steam :-)
This drama is just too good! So thrilling and nerve-wracking at the same time. Episode 12 almost gave me a heart attack. I was jumping on my bed and shouting "what are you waiting for?? break the bloody window already and throw that damn pressure cooker out" but it didn't help. What's good though is that they're getting closer and closer to saving everyone .
Who would have thought that such a huge amount of drama, bitchiness, perfidiousness and intrigue would make this show so addictive and enjoyable :-)
After episode 12 I can honestly say that my least favourite character is Mim. I have no sympathy for her whatsoever. She's the most despicable of them all. All she does is playing the victim card and blaming everyone else for her own failures and shortcomings. And yet, it's her own nasty, narcissistic, shallow personality, her pathological envy and disingenuous actions (stealing from Eve, releasing the video of her stepfather etc.) that are responsible for her miserable life. She rejects Tin (the only person who loves her and is always there for her) because he's too poor and he can't fulfil her dreams of being rich and being able to buy expensive designer bags!!! (her own words), that's literally all she cares about - luxury items. But, rejecting Tin doesn't stop her from sleeping with him (which makes him even more susceptible to her cunning) and using his position as a police officer to get a revenge on Tim (accuses him of something he didn't do) and others. She's artful and manipulative, steals, lies through her teeth and frankly speaking, so far she only got what she deserved.
Finally something different. No city life, no cheesy love stories, just wilderness and a lot of sketchy people who are ready to do anything to get some of that gold. I'm liking it so far.
don't worry it doesn't have a sad ending at all, trust me the ending will surprise you
Even after 2 yrs and rewatching it multiple times I'm still hopelessly hoping for a second season sometime in the distant future. There's much more story to be told, especially after the open ending.
9.5/10 It could be a solid 10 if the story of Gao Bing Zhu & Wu Si Yue didn't end like it did. I'm not a fun of romance in dramas but in this case I'm super mad at the screenwriters for what they did!
