Second this. The story of minglan is written by the same author and is a remarkable piece of work. It’s a slow burn and requires a lot of attention. The first 25 episodes introduces the character so it’s quite slow but once you pass that, you’re on an amazing journey

I don’t think Zisheng wanted to be engaged to NN so quickly because he wanted to complete his revenge first. But because he was scared NN would get married again he wanted to grab her quickly before the other guy proposed. He didn’t want another Lou Yao situation to happen

In season one they showed a wedding scene imagination with CSS with LBY. I think it was foreshadowing how LBY would be her husband not Lou Yao
